Skylines, overrated.

Meh, in my opinion, Skylines are useless, they are too heavy, and worse of all the 4wd is like driving a truck full of rocks. When you over power them, they become even useless. I rather take a Rx-7 anyday.
 
Tune them properly and they will become monsters. If they are too heavy , I think giving buying those Lightweight mods should work , right?
 
lol..they only lighten things up a bit but it should make the car not as heavy..plus ur saying that skyline is useless...that is because u don't know how to drive the damn car.!!!so if that is..then stfu..skyline is one of the most fastesr car in japan..and they can do more than u think..so if u talk **** about skyline..i will kick ur ass so badly...plus if u don't like.its that u can;t handle the speed..
 
yea skylines are awesome cars in real life. the designers didnt seem to put too much work into them in the game though as i agree they are quite heavy and slide out because of the large amount of power.
but hey, theyre the reason that 8 police cars in new zealand use NOS. hahaha.

haha, yup. the police fords and holdens, and the occasional mazda's couldnt get near the skylines in high speed chases. so they fitted 4 holdens and 4 fords with NOS. now its easier to catch the skylines but they sometimes still lose them.
 
Total_turbo can you honestly write a post without:

a) insulting someone
b) swearing
c) making yourself look like an immature 13 year old who just learned some new naughty words

I mean come one, every post I see you write is of the same nature, it is getting annoying, and to be honest, your behaviour is uncalled for.

Now to answer the remark about the Skylines, I feel it is a personal preference. Some can drive 4WD cars quite fast, often faster than MR or FR cars. I find 4WD cars quite rewarding to drive, and are more stable once you get used to driving them on the limit. The Skyline is one of the nicest cars to drive in the game, but some things will help you, for instance purchasing a VCD, and putting 90% of the power to rear wheels will greatly help you in the turns on a try tarmac. Also weight reduction is a must with this car, otherwise it is indeed too heavy.

actually, i have no idea. i was in whakatane at the BP where my mates, mate works, when a copper pulled up and at that exact time a skyline went screaming past at about 110. the cop just goes "goddamn skylines, why couldnt i have gotten a NOS in my car" and we asked him what he was on about and he explained. he never said where they were though.... probably thought we might try steal them or sumthin(my mate looks a lot like a maori). hahaha.
 
I think auto_1 is right to some extent. the skylines arent the greatest cars in the game, as polyphony puts them. they ARE heavy in their handling. only thing real good with them is the massive amount of power. but even some less powerfull cars feel WAY better as cars than the skyline. and I mean LESS powerful. tuning and stuff can make things better, but its not an excelent car. also, I think that polyphony made it, you know, THE car of GT, not just 3, but every GT. the fact that it is the only car in wich the displacement up mod can be performed (that and the mini... please - -) speak volumes about it. its STUPID STUPID STUPID STUPID that pollyphony programed that option to just 10 cars in the ****in game. in personal, i hate skylines. and im not saying they are bad cars, nor anything like that, but its not the GREATEST car pollyphony wants to make you believe it is... and that pisses me off... SO much...

skylines are mean cars, but its like pholyphony wants us to hate them by making them so bad at handling etc.

nah but the only annoying thing is that asian cars are so damn common. like your rx7 sparxxx, if it was black, then i would like it, but the fact that there is so many rx7's and so many in our little city just ruins the fact of how nice a car that they are. same with skylines, the best one in hamilton is probably venom, but there are about 20,000 skylines in our damn city.
 
Yeah . The RX7 Type RZ-J or whatever ( the white coloured one with black rims ) is kinda better , if put against the normal Skyline in GT3 . But I think the Mine's Skyline is so much better against the RX7 . What do you guys think?
 
ah... the rx-7 ifini 3 is better than the other two, you guys would know it as the rx7 savanna or sumthing. but yea, the mines skyline looks mean. i hate the handling tho, i had completed all gold in B,A, and IB license before my ps2 was stolen, and i had one more to go on IA and it was the last one with the skyline, its so damn hard to handle.

Anyway I liked that license test ! The one in Complex String driving around the loops right? With the Mine's Skyline . Very nice . They did put a small description of the test and mentioned it as one of the hardest license test to pass.
 
In a moment of madness I just sold all the Skylines I got in the Amateur League, the 400R, GTr-red, you know, the ones you got just once in the game, but I really dont care. The only Skyline I kept was the R32-GT Black, because I like the older Skyline models. I find them better than the newest ones.

Anyways, I just need a good racing car, to go against the Dream Car Championship in Amateur. I dont want to use my CLK Touring Car, because it doesnt measure up in Test Course, and my Camaro Race Car would cream all of them. It would be too easy to use a stock 700hp Camaro Race car against them. So I tried using the 400R, then the Skyline GTR that comes in red, modded it up to 570hp, and I couldnt get the lead.

bummer, i cant actually remember wat i used.... oh thats right, i used my viper that i bought wen i was in the beginner league, i purchased a lower turbo/NA, whatever it uses, cant quite remember. it beat them not too easily but they never stayed ahead for long.
 
Practice , my friend :) Get the best line . Keep your speed even , don't speed out suddenly or slow down suddenly to take the corners . With a lil practice you'll get it right. Its like .. erm.. you gotta keep the rhythm going .

hahaha. it thinks its the last 2 corners tho, theyre the hardest, you have to turn too sharp and the damn car just slides out.
