I think i have the slowest or one of the slowest car.
I own for barely 2 years now a '84 Renault 5 gtl .

60hp, 73lbs/ft, 780kg

it takes over 20 seconde to do 0-60.. and top speed is 155km/h.

not fast but fun to drive.

ps:sorry for my english, im from quebec CA.

You don't have much imagination, do you?

The Daewoo Matiz, with 50hp, take 17s to reach 60mph.

The Daihatsu Move, with 42hp, takes 19.1s, with a peak of 81mph.

The 750cc FIAT Panda, packing 34hp, takes 21.5s (78mph maximum).

The 850cc Seat Marbella, essentially a clone of the above FIAT Panda, takes a staggering 23.2s.

These are all topped by the most awesomenest People Carrier ever. Whilst the above cars all have the excuse of sub-litre engines, this car comes with a 2.3 litre diseasel engine and an even slower 2.0 diseasel. These engines push, respectively, 75 and 67hp - yes that's 32.6hp/litre for a vehicle produced only in the 1990s (1993-1996). Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the high-performance, can-carry-7-but-only-very-slowly:

Nissan Serena
2.3 diesel: 0-60mph in 26.5s, 84mph
2.0 diesel: 0-60mph in 31.0s, 81mph

You think 0-60mph in 12s is slow? Pffft.
Dear god is that slow.

Sorry, guys, but I've, by far, got the slowest car here. It can't even roll, much less move under its own power! :D What could be slower than unable to move at all?

wow my 95 taurus 3.0 feels fast in this thread at 0-60 in 10 seconds :) and 1/4 mile in 17.5 seconds :)

I might have the slowest car that can actually move (sort of) for the moment.
The alternator and battery are dead (I think). If I jump start it from another car it'll run for about 30 seconds, misfiring like hell. Driving it from my driveway to the backyard (have to go around the block to the back alley), I kept it floored the whole way and I don't think it got over 35km/h. I doubt it could hit 60 before conking out.

It's plenty fast when it works though :dopey:

< that one.
It's decently fast when it works, seriously. It just need an alternator.
Let's see if I can find you a picture that doesn't show why I need bodywork done. Whoops, did I say that out loud?

Wow my truck feels fast in a thread like this, with 190hp and 250lb ft. This thing flys compared to everything else. Hell I could be at a 100...errr I mean 98 before most of you get to 60 .

pfft i got 100-ish hp rover 214, its wheels innit?! havnt even passed me test :scared: ahh gimme coupla years when the insurance improves then i can get some muscle, the time waitin is killin me tho :indiff:

My '60 Biscayne right now could give a few of you a run for your money...

Archaic 235 c.i. inline 6 with 135 horsepower when new It's now 45 years old. I think it has a one-barrel carb, If I'm not mistaken.

It also weighs 3500 lbs!

And, according to my broken speedometer, I'm going three miles per hour when parked, and when in fourth gear, I'm still going three! :dopey:

Because everyone in America owns huge cars .

Not everyone...just about 70%. I've never owned an SUV, Pickup, Van, or Minivan. Biggest car I've ever owned is a Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (pics below). I actually miss this car, shouldn't of traded it in for the SE-R with a bad transmission...but 9mpg in the Crown Vic wasn't worth keeping at the time when I was unemployed. I'm thinking about getting another one until I can afford my G35, 350Z, or GTO. It was a blast to drive and when it was already moving more than 25mph and you floored it--it was quite fast with a good kick. And on the freeway it would really move with zero effort. Not to mention cops waved at me, people slowed down because they thought I was a cop...hah it was good fun.

Wow, that thing is awesome! I've always wanted an Interceptor, although mine'd have to be black, tan, or silver, so it'd look like a normal detective/plainclothes car. Maybe even mount the trunk antenna...

I have the slowest turbocharged gasoline car on GTP.

Top Speed: 0 mph...

When it was working, I wouldn't expect any better than a 17 second 1/4 mile (16.7-16.9 on a good day), 0-60 in about 9 seconds, and a top speed of about 120 mph. It "felt" faster than the numbers suggest.

The Daewoo Matiz, with 50hp, take 17s to reach 60mph.
I'm very sure What Car magazine tested out that Matiz and it took 21 seconds to reach 60mph.

Thanks, I had washed that thing myself every week. Owning that car was more fun than owning my 200SX SE-R. I think I kind of want another one...priced them on ebay last night and they are right where they should be. I bought mine on ebay for $4000 cash. The things you can't legally have are the undercover wigwag strobe lights and more than 1 antenna (other than radio) on the car. Mine actually had the legal strobes still installed just not wired to a control box. :sly: If you get one don't let a cop tell you to remove the "Police Interceptor" badge on the trunk lid...that's the official model of the car from Ford. You can walk into a Ford dealer and buy that part for $10 or $15. The push bumper grille and spot light is also legal to have installed...you just can't use the spot light legally. If you buy one make sure the VIN number has "P71" in it...otherwise it's just a normal Crown Vic. Also you can tell visually if the bumper above the dual exhaust tips would either be cracked or bondo'd...because when they back the cars off the trailer the bumper almost always hits the ground causing the crack. Of course the precinct can just replace the bumper.

I thought I would bring this thread up, because my friend Marcus owns a VW Beetle. It is very old, twin muffler, no brakes, rusted inside and out, and the doors just opens with a creepy sound. :scared:

We can't even get the acceleration time, because after we accelerate, we can't decelerate until we hit a uphill or turn sharply and go in complete circles, or let me try to get in front of it and stop it. (Unless we crash of course.)

I think it has like only 15HP now (or less), the engine looks terrible. The only thing good is the rims, which are somewhat shiny. Everything else is... :yuck:

This old rust bucket can't be taken on the highway without getting clobbered.

I have a 1982 VW Caddy N/A Diesel. 52hp 75lbs-ft 2,175lbs Top speed of 75-80mph. I think Diesel Mk. 1's usually pull 22's on the 1/4. It's incredibly slow, today I put the pedal to the metal in third and got passed by a maroon Chrysler Minivan.:banghead: I'll swap the engine out someday.
EDIT: I doubt that Beetle has 15hp, even Beetles as far back as 1938 have 25hp. What year is it. In it's prime the Beetle had 40-60hp.
Also forgot one other thing. Although not slow in acceleration wise my motorcycle has a top speed of 50-60mph. Not exactly highway friendly.

I don't think anything currently on board can top my Isuzu truck (Hilander Crosswind), 79 hp diesel, some 2+ tonnes (metric)... last I tried, I think I hit 100 km/h in 40 seconds... but I'm not sure... I kinda lost count after 60 km/h.

Would be a lot worse if it were an automatic. Every time I drive my relative's automatic version, I get overloaded 15 hp taxi-cycles loaded with half-a-dozen people passing me.

old rust bucket

The only thing good is the rims

Now that is just typical

My 1975 KE30 'Rolla is definately a contender here. 1166cc (around 79 cubic inches), ultra short 4 speed manual, doesn't like anthing over 85 kph. I think the clutch might just be on the limits now, though it doesn't yet slip under normal driving loads.

I can get my baby real sideways in the wet and on dirt as well. I can do a bit of a line-lock, but only because the right rear tyre is super bald.

My dad's Navara (Frontier) has 175BHP and weighs about 2.5 tonnes

0-60 in 13.5sec I've been told

...and it's the most powerful pickup in it's class

I'd toss in the '88 Nova, but, sonsidering I have somewhere around 75hp, and I've seen 55 HP cars, I'm not so sure...

then again, I have a 3-speed slush (literally, slush, could use a shift kit) box with a short high gear.
