That's probably a good thing. By the end of this stage I find the notes are coming so late I try to tune them out. I'm braking hard for the 3 right I've just seen while the idiot's telling me about the 6 left I've just done!

Yeah I've set my pace notes to come "very early" and I still get them sometimes just before the corner so could probably miss it or make a big mistake! That's one of the biggest downsides of this game! The copilot is horrendous and not so informative! I've made lots of incidents coz some corners deserve a quick "Attention" which wasn't there!

Here's how things are looking so far:

Mexico will likely be extended one week until 7 November give or take...

Wowwww! I can't believe my eyes! P2 till now! Well that 3min difference is humiliating but I'll pretend I never saw that.

It seems my "slow and safe" approach is paying out! And I can't deny that the car suits my driving style! I wouldn't have dreamed of such results with the previous cars I've drove in previous rallies.

Indeed, you have totally thrown off the balance at Ford. You are racing way above your level from last season.

I'll take that as a complement :-s
Well I knew Mexico was lethal so I went extra safe to avoid wrecking my car! At some point I made a gamble and took an 18sec time penalty to fix some parts coz I knew parts are pretty critical in this rally:

Well the game froze up on the loading screen between stage 7 and 8. Video to follow.

I guess I’ll need to run stage 8 separately. I don’t think I’ll have any kind of edge, as I think I was close to 50 minutes total time through stage 7. Now I won’t get the trophy for winning a 4 day rally at Mexico. :odd:

If you boot the game again it will pick up where you left off. It saves after every stage.

That worked. But I lost my flow and wound up finishing 6th behind the AI. :irked:

If anyone's interested this game is 75% off its already low price on Steam until the 5th. Just bought it for £3.74, hoping to enjoy 60fps but at that price I don't care if it's no better than PS4.

Sorry, I also have a question. For what driving aids up to "automatic braking" allowed? I use stability control, it gives 3-4 seconds per special, may be, but others... does they really help? Does leaders use it? I have no desire to continue with it, teach myself with to use it....

Has anyone tested TC1? Does it reduce tire wear?

Driving aids pretty much ruin a rally car's handling so you will probably be better off and have more fun with them off. I do believe there are a few that use ABS. But the automatic braking will probably just ruin the feeling with the car.

So, I report I passed rally Mexico. First of all who am I. If you play at PC, you can open online leaderboards and find that at first position the same guy each stage. Its me.

Second half:

At El Chocolate I make technical restart at 8th second (no crash or any issue, simply I decided to change back to cockpit view). Hope excuse will be made for it.

I checked Lucas' video - interesting struggle at each stage! Great competition, I'm glad to participate!

A fantastic rally. The neighbor that leaves me the Ford demanded that I returned it whole ... and I see that I went overboard, although I ended up very satisfied to take it back home without the mechanics working too much. Partly because of the seriousness of the damage in Monte Carlo. They were not so serious here. The twist of the tracks and the jumps to the unknown made me lift my foot and enjoy the rally as if it were real. A joy.

I had a few hairy moments because of late calls like that =/

Here's my rally. Went out just to have fun and enjoy myself in my home rally. Was actually pretty satisfied, even though the co-driver is very late in some parts and the stages are quite hard.
Stages 5 and 8 are a treat to drive

I'll just leave these here whilst I wait for the longest encoding process ever. Like seriously, current estimate is at least 2 hours, and that's not factoring in uploading it to Youtube. It'll be while. :irked:
On the plus side, we've finally have some competition for Lucas.

Round 4: San Remo

slre-san-remo-header_92ff7.jpg

Next up is the first proper tarmac rally. San Remo is technical and twisty. Target date is 15 November.

May I suggest that @LaPremier use Mitsubishi at 50% points. Is everyone OK with this having a fourth competitor for 50% points for the team(s) that are at the bottom of the standings?

Great job with this results posting, nice to watch! Thanks to organizers and all participants, I'm very glad!
So, I probably can support Mitsubisi team, the vehicle itself is not bad.... although it will demand some work with it at Monte-Carlo... so, OK, I agree, but I didnt understand - what means 50% points? Hmmm, in this case, may be, it will be better for the team, if somewhat other member's points will be count in such way, while mine for full amount?...

You get full drivers points, but having you in Mitsubishi as a one-off fourth driver 50% of your points will go to team standing to help out Mitsu.

San Remo is next.

Well, but must I drive just Mitsubishi? Now I tried it at Le Moulinon- Antraigues... it goes even faster, then Subi, but with one flashback I can simply not to reach finish. Driveability is weak.... you must brake much earlier and very carefull.... its more suitable for academic Lucas' style, not mine. So, I have doubts about San Remo at least.... at gravel less problems with it....
