Just for clarification...

I did not purposely quit after 50 minutes of racing. I went to type into the chat, realized I was still driving (auto drive) and had damage and was approaching the pit. I then panicked and instead of exiting the chat to pit, exited the race... SMH. Anyway, I stuck around and watched as a spectator for the remainder of the race.

Great win @MSgtGunny. What a final lap there by @spidermonkey! Great job by all (except me quitting mid race).

Ok, here's what I got from testing tonight
Brands Hatch GP 20:00 clear
Chevrolet Corvette C7 GR.4 Racing tires
5x Tire wear | 4x fuel wear

I think I'm happy with it. Let me sleep on it and I'll confirm my selection tomorrow.

Edit 2018-05-23: selection confirmed. (I was between 4-5x tire wear and 3-4x fuel wear, but tires should definitely be at least a notch higher. If you think this will cause too many pit stops, you could go with 4x tire | 3x fuel)

Just curious if anyone had any issues with lag on my host. I couldnt stream but only had slight hiccups through the night it seemed successful at end of the day.

Results after week 1 of season 1.

Congrats Gunny, shoutout to Speedcenter for finishing 2nd despite having some fun in the pits.

Also, tight racing between Sik Puppy and Neutty finishing just over a 1 second apart.
Also tight racing between MalevolentFather and TEX-36 who finished .1 seconds apart, with vsfit 4 seconds behind them.

Truthfully, I was/am no match for The Malevolent One …….. he passed me in the last turn, and I just hooked on to his draft for the close finish.
Actually, @vsfit and I seemed to be in "proximity" to each other most of the race. I only got past him as a result of an untimely Grass Excursion, otherwise he would have been in front of me at the finish.

Good racing - interesting how all the different Pit Strategies worked/or didn't.

So my dad's health declined further so I'm not going to have time to test the combo anymore. I think it should provide good racing with a good potential for mixed race strategies especially since you don't lose much time on brands hatch pit.

Thanks for having me last night, it was fun and good to get back into racing a bit since I haven't raced in like a month and a half.

Sorry to hear that wish the best of the situation for your father and family.

It was great having you on board last night and hope you can make a return!

Sorry to hear of your fathers health situation, best wishes to you and your family.
Your SNAIL brothers are here

Take care MSgtGunny,

Good racing - interesting how all the different Pit Strategies worked/or didn't.

I think this race was the biggest pit strategy event yet. Unfortunately I didn't get in enough practice testing each tire and it wasn't because I didn't have enough time. You could definitely tell who was using soft vs hard and the sharp decline in times using soft. Good stuff. Thanks again @TVV0_

A few things to note - please oh please can we make sure we have flag rules on next race.
Somebody was reversing (what?) I guess trying to recover from a mistake, unfortunately he had no notice I was coming, and I had no notice there was a slow car on track and I spun trying to avoid hitting him. This was in the Roggia chicane (turn 4/5).

Also, there were cars being placed back onto track after going off track, not sure if this was a setting with the room - or just the game being dumb - as far as I know it was only happening in turns 1/2.

That too is my mistake. I had the original enduro settings and forgot to do the flag rules. Tire/fuel were caught before we started or those would have been 3x

Praying for your father Gunny. We are all here man.

Unexpected invitation/ request by my son to come spend some time with him this weekend.
Sooooo, just wanted to run up the Absent With Leave flag.

I won't be back until Wednesday, so very sorry about bailing out on my Commitment so quickly.

No worries, you haven't broken your commitment yet - this is just strike one. You get one more, use it wisely!

Yeah, the lack of flags was definitely a surprise obstacle. I was paying attention as best I could, but without the flags there were quite a couple edge of the seat instances with passing and being passed. Still have to say thanks for stepping up and hosting the room @TVV0_

Should we start a confirmation list per race? We have been on the cusp of a full room just to keep race night flowing smoothly. We could have a set time 12pm (est) tuesday know if we should have a 2nd lobby or not before we open at 830. Say we have 14 confirm we do two lobbies to welcome any walkins?

I'm not sure how we're going to do 2 lobbies, the way we're doing the point system is per SNAIL sunday league - if we suddenly started giving out 20 points to winners that would inflate the scoring process.

I think for this season we should limit it to 1 lobby, with committed drivers getting priority and first come first serve for the balance of the spots.

If we have over 16 per week and this being the first week we could lose out on multiple new comers!! Hate to say it but a second lobby could be opened and maybe we can change the points now to 32-1. Then Points are based off of time and laps between the two lobbies.
Or
We could run a second room that is not “official” but having the right person sacrifice their points to get that room running would be difficult.

I see your point.
Perhaps for the first season we just count the top 16 for points and if you aren't in the top 16 you don't make points - similar to most racing leagues.

We had discussion earlier of doing points per finishing laps and times between the rooms to be even up(once its a regular occurance).

I just know we had a few interested non members join in wanting to race that had to leave or get booted. A 2nd lobby for now could be our test lobby like @Neutty had stated. Ill host it even if no points will be involved as i just enjoy the enduros and would like to see the member list grow.

I think we can all agree that the Official drivers should be guaranteed a chance to race together. And as far as points go, if you're not an Official driver, who cares? If you're interested in competing for the season championship, you'll get your chance the following season when you "commit".

For next week we have 7 drivers committed to participate (Sam and Tex have already said they'll be out), and they should all be in the "main" lobby. If we get 9 or less drivers voicing interest in this thread (I like @TVV0_ 's idea of a confirmation list, and I'd be happy to maintain that list on the first post), we're good to go - only one lobby is needed. If we get 10 or more drivers voicing interest, we'll need to split 'em up like this:

Main Lobby - 7 Official drivers + Interested drivers
Other Lobby - Interested drivers
And we could split 'em up such that each lobby has the same number of drivers. If an Interested driver wants a guaranteed spot in the main lobby, they can "commit" to being a Provisional driver until they're able to become an Official driver next season.

Does anyone see any problems with that plan?

I think this will work out well @BradESPN thanks!

I think that's fine.

One question - lets say 16 people race, top 3 are all not "committed" and the highest finish position of a committed driver is 4th.
Does 4th place get the full 16 points? Or does top 3 all get points that just aren't counted towards the final ranks?

Do non committed drivers choose tracks/cars over committed drivers?

In your example, I think it would be most fair to award 13 points to the 4th place finisher (as normal). Say an Official driver finishes 1st, and the next Official driver finishes 5th. Awarding 16 and 15 points respectively would be a little unfair to the first place finisher (they "earned" those extra points by finishing ahead of the non-Official drivers). In other words, points are awarded as normal in the Main lobby, but only Official drivers can win the season championship.

I like your idea to award the car/track choice to the driver currently on top of the season standings (assuming they haven't chosen yet), but I don't think this should be limited to Official drivers. I realize this is a bit contradictory to the "only Official drivers can win the season championship" idea, but I think it'll help incentivize Interested drivers to stick around.

Agreed on both points.
