Awesome to see so much input/activity here.

My thoughts: The only problem I have with 2 classes is the fact that you've split the lobby in half, lets say from 12 to 6. So now instead of 11 potential people to race with you've cut it down to 5. With some people in here wanting close racing in this enduro format, you've just decreased the odds of it happening.

Who would be in what class? Would we have a D1 and a D2? That could work, but lets say a few people from D1 dont show up for the race. Do we put a couple guys from D2 into D1 cars to make both divisions even? Or would we just keep it the way it is (for example 4 D1 cars and 6 D2 cars). Now D1 has even less "competitors" on the track to race with.

I say open up the available tire compounds (RSS) If someone wants to take a gamble on them with the tire wear at 3x, god speed. Maybe its part of their strategy and they put them on with 1 lap to go with a splash of fuel for one final all out blitz.

Changing the start time to 9est is fine by me. I'm on the west coast and I feel for you guys that have to stay up late on the east coast.

And Mike is aware that hes on the clock to come up with a new combo, I talked to him about it.
 
Why automatically presume that D-1 drivers would be in the fastest cars?
Wouldn't it work like a Handicap if the less talented were given the extra HP / Class?

We had this discussion previously, the class differences are pretty significant, D1 drivers just can't be competitive with D2 drivers if you put D1 in gr.4 and D2 in gr.3 - the cars just have too much difference in raw pace.

Sam had a good point, if we split the lobby up (even if we had 14 people) you're not 7 and 7 which might not be as interesting, I'm fine with all one make for now.

This was my theory put the faster guys in the slower cars to level out the pack. But with the multiclass itll be harder to control tuning aspects.

I am content with a single class of cars assuming we can use any car with bop on and tuning off.

If people feel strongly on two groups we can easily add a visual divider running same cars. Gr.A black number plates black banner white lights. Gr.B white number plates white banner yellow lights. So on track you can identify if the person your coming up on or is coming up on you is for div. Or not

We don't use BoP btw - it's an honor system to make sure everyone is using the car at stock weight/power.

Correct for sunday as we run identical cars. If we run same car here then yes bop off. If its opened up to filtering by group i reccomend bop on for newcomers whom may not know we run all stock

I guess I'm having a hard time figuring what you meant in your post.

Did you mean having 2 classes act strictly as a handicap to slow down the faster guys, and still run a normal race with only 1 winner?

Or did you mean 2 classes, 2 seperate races on track, 2 winners?

I interpreted your post as the latter. I havent done a lot of gr3s/gr4s but I was under the assumption the gr3s would completely smoke gr4s, even if the faster guys used the gr4s.

I'm in no way shooting down your suggestion Tex and I'm not saying we shouldn't try it. I just posted my thoughts that came to mind when I first read it.

If were looking to even the field out another way to do that is have the faster guys carry more weight/reduce hp. But by doing so it would void the tuning prohibited setting (as far as I know)

A lot can happen in an endurance race. I've finished ahead of faster class drivers many times. Don't let people fall for the lie that there are two separate races happening. Just my 2 cents.

Sam, I wasn't proposing a completed idea, with all the angles & variations figured out.

Just had a thought that running Multi-Class, with Tuning Prohibited, would provide variable pit strategies, as well as a real world "look" since different cars would be on track.

To answer your questions:
2 Winners:
Not on 2 tracks - but rather 2 Class Winners, if 2 classes are run on track together

Handicap:
That was probably just a poor choice of word. Like thinking out loud sometimes get a body in trouble. No offense intended.
 
Welp.. after some quick testing a Gr3 on Rh at Infield A 1:09-1:12 Gr4 on Rs 1:11-1:14. Combine this with damage mistakes pits.

How would running 2 separate classes void tuning @SAMHAIN85 ?

I've been in multi class regged endurance races before.
We used to have the slower class enter the track 1st - you set up the regs for one class, if they all check out, then they stay on the track.
Regs are then updated with the higher power & weight, faster class enter track- so that now, all cars are on track & everyone should be checked and regulated accordingly.

I think we should implement a rule that the new car/track should be decided by Friday 6pm? EST
That way people have Friday evening/weekend to prepare for the new race. I'm wondering mostly because I'm away all weekend and am pretty busy Mondays so if I get anytime to practice it's tonight.

Yeah not sure how it works on other games or older gt's. In this case however all gr4 cars will fall under gr3 regs hp/weight. I set my room to 700hp 2100lbs seems to include most if not all cars in each group.

I was under the assumption that the only way to add/decrease weight/hp would mean you would have to turn off the "tuning prohibited" setting. Which opens the door for people to start tinkering with adjustable settings.

Tuning can be switched off separately from power weight(tuning prohibited)this only affect suspension tuning. Turning bop on Is the only way to stop power and weight changes that arent manually set.
