 Canadian winter driving! w00t!

This will make for an interesting new type of rally race, and it'll be fun to take very high power cars out into the snow, like the Viper :trouble:

And all that writing on the screen, it's probably running in the development software.

Or a new buld running on the dev software.

It probably the same snowy track seen with the Evo7 render released with the first GT4 renders.

GT4 will have a good number of rally tracks.

GT2 had a Tigra Ice Racing Car (in fact, I want to try to buy it with the 674,145 Cr I have as of this post), and I mean, take an ice racing car to a dirty road course? I think it needs to shine on ice. A good idea would be to have snow cover Smokey Mountain or Tahiti's tracks.

Now, this paragragh is reserved for Smokey Mountain. I think the paved road down to Intermediate One takes the fun out of the first jumps. I'd say to have some snow storm pass by, while the skies clear out with the beautiful sunset like in GT4 (or what the hell, run it at night with a big moon in the sky!). I think Smokey Mountain North of GT2 was the coolest rally course in the GT series. So, I'd say maybe a snowy version of Smokey Mountain, then maybe an original track featuring snow. I don't know if it has any, but maybe a rally through a snow-covered forest in Sapporo or on Hokkaido Island. If that's not enough, (this will be a crazy idea), imagine racing in the snow at the peak of Mt. Fuji! Creativity pays, people. It pays more than a pimp getting his pay on the job. Oh, small disclaimer...

"JOHNBM01 DOES NOT IN ANY WAY OFFEND PIMPS, PLAYERS, G's, AND HUSTLAS. DO YOUR THING, ALRIGHT?"

Anyhow, next reply?

i think, because gt4p wasnt realeased at that time, as a test, they used the gt3/gtc heads-up display(what info was on the screen) as they hadnt developed the gt4 heads-up display.

wow, i always thought johnbmo1's "lectures" were boring, but now i'm starting to take notice. good idea, john. (sorry if i offended you in any way)

Weird ...

Now, that is what I thought. I guess it's not so weird, afterall.

Yes, John, I like the Tigra Ice Race Car too. It was fun to race on both regular and rally courses. I hope PD brings it back.

The dials look a lot like the GT3 tachometers, I believe it is a very early shot of GT4 in development.

That certainly looks like a new, unseen track. I don't recognise the track map, and, oh, that's a huge track. Wonder what times we'll be getting?

My reaction as well, thing looks pretty epic. Be fun, I like longer courses.

The fence looks like where you drive off the Nurburgring to the car-park, as I saw it in a video where jmr and Friday were driving there for real. And although I don't know nurburgring by heart, the track layout looks a lot like what I remember from the GTR Mods. With the Nur_Snow on the GT4 Prologue disc as reveiled by the GT3 Vol, I'm starting to believe that the Nur stands for Nurburgring Nordschleife after all, and not just the F1 track. This is very intriguing!

Tom, get rid of that stupid fake GT4 picture please, it's not only getting old, it was old a year ago ...

It does look a bit like the great Nurburgring, but isn't it out of context if there's snow instead of tarmac and a rally beind held on it? Those were the things stopping me from thinking it was Nurburgring.

Not out of context, in the winter there can be snow there. The normal version (no snow) would also be in the game - at least GT3 Vol showed both a Nur and a Nur_Snow track filename. There's also not a rally being held on it - just that the cars eligible for rally can only drive on it. It does make a lot of sense - a snowy Nurburgring makes a fine rally track, probably the most lifelike of all in GT so far, considering its length.

Ah ok, now I get it. Didn't know about the Nur and Nur_Snow thing, makes perfect sense now, and great racing if that's the case.

Edited... well, at least it was a nice pic, but I didn't know it was a fake..:O

No I agree, that doesn't even look close. It's not the GP track either though ... perhaps it's some village in Japan :D

It's also possible that the track uses a section of the Nordschleife and then deviates off to a (fictional) inland forest course before returning to the real circuit.

This would allow them to include the famous circuit in some way, but without having the whole thing, which is deemed to be techincally unachievable due to it's massive length.

Hmm, I agree the on-screen map looks nothing like that one, so I guess that's not it. I don't really see any chunk of it matching up so I don't think it's the Nurburgring at all. Either way though it looks like an impressively long and tricky track.
