The first thing I do when I wake up is reach for the Laptop to check GTplanet for the latest GT5 news, and it is often the last thing I do before I go to sleep. My Gf already thinks I am obsessed, and I dont even have GT5 yet. I have already told her that she better not be causing aggrovation when I am playing, and I warned her that I have been waiting for 6 years for this, and I am certainly going to be making up for lost time.

During this period, I will be buying her an S95 Canon, I am already going to be paying 580 euro dental treatment for her, and when I am home this weekend (flying back to Italy) I am going to be taking her out to dinner, and the following evening I am going to cook her a romantic meal. So as you can see, leading up to release she is being treated like a princess, only for her to be treated like an annoying little sister when I have GT5 haha :)

Hopefull It should all be ok, I have prepared and made it very clear how much GT5 means to me, and how I am so desperate for this game. Generally my GF is pretty good, and is not the nagging type, but still she is a woman, and she needs her attention, so even when I have GT5, I am still going to have to keep her sweet.

There is only one PS3 game she enjoys playing, and that is Zen Pinball, she is actually pretty obsessed herself, and sometimes spends hours playing. She does not know yet that there is DLC for this game, so when I need to, I will download it for her, and she will have some new tables to play, :sly:

I have some even more cunning tricks, and will use them when I need to in-order to keep her happy:idea:

So, what about the rest of you, better start scheming now if you want uninterupted GT5 sessions hehehe

I'm not even gonna read this. If only I had a penny for every useless thread in this forum, I could buy alot of copies of it this game.
 
Haha. Well my GF goes to college so I told her, you can do your HW and I will play my video game. She is cool with it. I told her when she wants to take a break, I will also and we can then, spend quality time together. But this way we are together, doing what she has to do and what I have waited years for. Still spending and having time for us.

Well, its certainly will pass the time better than specualting over and over again on GT5 release dates like everyone is doing all over this site.

And to be honest, for many that have girlfriends, GT5 will be an issue for some, and I think it is a valid point of discusson. Maybe it is worthless for you as you are single ;-)

You are lucky I did not come up with the thread; " when having sex do you think about GT5":dunce:

I am not saying this thrad echos greatness, but is is certainly more worthy than many threads that have cropped up on this site.

Haha I think the thread is ok... Something different at least.

My girlfriend is always comprehensive to me, she always listens to me even if I say something about cars or football. She tries to understand me as well as I do with her. She knows I'm expecting GT5 and will spent a lot of hours in it... I have shown her some good trailers and videos, and she even like them. I'm sure she also will want to play a little bit.

I guess I won't have troubles at all, at least they will not be big :)

Hopefully I can do it while playing GT5 as well. Need to work on that bit.

As for me, uh, I think female > games. I did tell my girlfriend that I probably would want to play the game for a couple days after it comes out and she laughed, called me a geek and said have at it. Assuming the game comes out on a Tuesday, I'll play it through Thursday and then do stuff with her over the weekend. Seems fair enough to me since that's typically how my gaming schedule goes any way.

She likes video games too so she'll probably play it as well, which is fine by me.
 
My Wife is Fully aware of the implications of the release of this game, and she understands that I will be a GT5 Zombie for about a week (and after that several hours a day)

I will take time of work when it comes out and have reserved all working hours (i wouldn't be home anyways) for GT5, so after I "get home" I can be part of the family for a couple hours before I dive back in after dinner until late evening.

She is prepared for it and ready to leave me alone for the time, as I found out, It pays to prepare, but they are still women and can change course in about 5 min. To the OP, don't count on all your preparations actually working, they are volatile.:ouch:

I should count myself lucky to be allowed to build and have this in my house, even have a room to blast the sound up without bothering anyone.

So yes, though times ahead for anyone with a Partner, and remember, get your priorities right, you can always hit pause. (and if you come out and say hello every once in a while she will feel sorry for you and feed you, so you don't even have to worry about that);)

It seems my wife has launched a pre-emptive strike against GT5. Just weeks till it's launched and the plug adapter for the PS3 has strangely gone missing...

The wife knows how much I've been looking forward to this game. She knows that I've been assembling my GT5 setup one holiday at a time since 2008 starting with the ps3, then the wheel and last nov 2, she got me a wheelstand pro.

*She's probably far more upset about me talking about the game all the time, and refreshing this forum until early morning, so by now she's probably ready for me to play the game and shut the hell up already.

Honestly she's not half bad on GT5p herself, but she drives a *far* sportier car than I do to work every day, so I suppose it's to be expected.
 
Tell her I have a horrible infectious virus and have to stay in my room for 3 months and for her to put the food outside the door twice a day.
 
Well since I bought an Obutto and G27, I sure as hell will be playing GT5 more than a man should. Luckily I don't have or desire a girlfriend.

The original post is truly epic. I can't even conceive how great the choice words were.

My girlfriend knows how important this is too, she has her laptop to keep her busy. I'll be getting another PS3 soon, so she can have her own copy of GT5. She loved Prologue.

I have no problems there. For my birthday my sister got me a DFGT and my GF got me a wheel stand pro and as soon as i set it up she jumped behind the wheel of an Evo IX. 10 minutes later she decided to start her own new game, she's about halfway thru. Now she understands what all the fuzz is about and insists that i take her with me when i go pick up the game. Like i said I HAVE NO PROBLEMS THERE.👍:sly:
 
My girl 'gave' me GT5, via free gift card she got getting a BB, she knows full well of the stature of this game in my life, shes beyond hypothesizing my obsession, at this point she's fully aware.

But she asked for my PS2+wheel+GT4 when GT5 comes, so ill be giving her that.

And lingerie, guys the trick is lingerie, its hot, they look hot, they feel hot and it just makes it that much easier to pay attention to them. 👍
 
I introduced my girlfirend to gt when we got together in april. After showing her the old ones and trailers and such, she may be more excited about i t then I am. She even checks this site everyday now waiting for any kind of news so she can tell me and she even secretly went to gamestop everyday she got paid and slowly paid off my collectors edition without telling me. She also said she has another surprise for me when it comes out (I think its a pseye for eyetracking cuz she is always asking me about it). Yeah I'm pretty lucky, I tried teaching he how to play but she got very frustrated with the liscense tests and hasn't touched it for a while, however that will change when we get the full game. As far as I can tell, I won't need to change anything or go out of the way to make her happy, because she knows how happy I will be when I get it.
 
My gf is a gamer too, not to the same extent than myself but still.

She knows that when a game hits that I've been waiting for a while, I'll play it for 2-4 days pretty hardcore, not giving my GF the attention she deserves. But It'll even out after that. The length of the HC gaming period might be a bit longer with GT5, but not over a week anyway.

I'll take the PS3 and hook it up it to my 24" Asus computer screen and attach my DFGT to my computer table. So I don't hog the TV completely and she can play with the Wii.
 
It's already been shipped. So how are your wives and girlfriends coping? xD
 
I think I'll loosen her chains a bit. Possibly feed her a bit more. Remove one of the wooden slabs off of the window. Simple things.
 
Lol you guys, I wish my wife understood my obsession with this game. She still thinks that I'm nuts that I check this forum this often. However, one and only game she plays and adores on PS3 is LBP and she can't wait for the second one in January.
