The first thing I do when I wake up is reach for the Laptop to check GTplanet for the latest GT5 news, and it is often the last thing I do before I go to sleep. My Gf already thinks I am obsessed, and I dont even have GT5 yet. I have already told her that she better not be causing aggrovation when I am playing, and I warned her that I have been waiting for 6 years for this, and I am certainly going to be making up for lost time.

During this period, I will be buying her an S95 Canon, I am already going to be paying 580 euro dental treatment for her, and when I am home this weekend (flying back to Italy) I am going to be taking her out to dinner, and the following evening I am going to cook her a romantic meal. So as you can see, leading up to release she is being treated like a princess, only for her to be treated like an annoying little sister when I have GT5 haha :)

Hopefull It should all be ok, I have prepared and made it very clear how much GT5 means to me, and how I am so desperate for this game. Generally my GF is pretty good, and is not the nagging type, but still she is a woman, and she needs her attention, so even when I have GT5, I am still going to have to keep her sweet.

There is only one PS3 game she enjoys playing, and that is Zen Pinball, she is actually pretty obsessed herself, and sometimes spends hours playing. She does not know yet that there is DLC for this game, so when I need to, I will download it for her, and she will have some new tables to play, :sly:

I have some even more cunning tricks, and will use them when I need to in-order to keep her happy:idea:

So, what about the rest of you, better start scheming now if you want uninterupted GT5 sessions hehehe

Look in the back of your local paper in the Rent-boy section and rent her a boyfriend. I would ask her if she would prefer a gay or a straight rent-boy (although choose one at your own discretion, she wouldn't know). Be prepared that just like you are with GT, she might get addicted to the service. Be prepared to get a second job to fulfill her whim. If it starts to be expensive or if you should at any time feel threatened (that other guys are screwing your girl), just remember that you'r getting a lot more time playing GT5 than you would otherwise.

Hello... PS3... wireless controllers... nothing to get tangle around your legs!

-

I think it'd be World War 3 when GT5 arrives. May have to resort to sleeping on the couch.

-

Which, by happy coincidence, is right in front of the TV attached to the PS3.

-

It seems my wife has launched a pre-emptive strike against GT5. Just weeks till it's launched and the plug adapter for the PS3 has strangely gone missing...

My wife seems to have topped your wife's 'adaptor gone missing' ploy, she has managed to guess the release date some months before it was announced and got her self pregnant with the due date being the 6th of dec, but we think it may come early-PROBABLY ON THE RELEASE DATE- man these women are cunning!!

A butt kicker and strategically placed gearstick should do the job.

I have know problems from my wife when playing GT games. I have a new DFGT wheel because she said the DFP was making to much noise when she was trying to sleep. Also i'm ordering a Obutto racing cockpit and it should be next week sometime.

ps. Anyways my wife has her grandchildren to keep her busy.:sly:👍

Hello all!
This seemed like and appropriate place to make my first post.

I always keep my GF happy... and I have kindly informed her that I will probably be playing QUITE a bit the first few weeks and shes ok with that. She realizes how much I like the game and how good I am for her so she's not going to make a fuss about it... ;) Any sane GF should realize things like this... And no way am I putting GT5 ahead of her... but I will be playing like crazy those first couple of weeks... Until the release my fellow GTPers!

I've run into this issue already and she knows what to expect. I did get smacked in the face the other night though.

Her and I finished up doing... what a couple sometimes does and I was sitting at the edge of the bed. I turned my phone on and went into my browser.

Her: "Why are you setting the alarm? Your appointment isn't till three tomorrow..."
Me: "I'm not setting an alarm."
Her: "What are you doing then?"
Me: "Just checking something.."
Her: "It's that stupid game again isn't it!?"

*silence*

*SMACK!*

Her: "Why can't you be normal and smoke afterwords! I swear to God you're obsessed..."

She knows I'll be spending a lot of time playing the week it comes out though. She actually enjoys watch me play video games because of how into them I get. I guess she finds it humorous but she even said she "can't wait" to watch me play this "silly game." So I think I may be in the clear.

I'm not even gonna read this. If only I had a penny for every useless thread in this forum, I could buy alot of copies of it this game.

If I had a penny every time I read a comment like yours, I wouldn't need GT5 to drive an Aston ;-)

Been with my wife for 13yrs, married for 3...... she's sat through the GT5P phase, the GT Academy phase and a recent flirtation with F1 2010..... she's still here so i imagine we'll get through the big one!

Possibly.:nervous:

There are some priceless posts in this thread guys, keep it up. 👍

That said, I'm glad I'm single at the moment. I don't have to worry about any nagging while trying to enjoy GT5. Though I must admit I'm a little jealous of the lucky bastards with GT-obsessed girls.

Doesn't sound like a very trusting relationship. My wife and I have a very open, honest, trusting relationship, and we both appreciate that as well as time together, we also need our own space and time to do the things we enjoy doing without having to justify it to each other. Going out for meals and buying gifts does not have any alternative motive either.

No Girlfriend to worry about , got 2 Ex-Wifes though , but no need to worry about them either 👍

Only thing that may cause a Problem is this :sly:

my gf and i dont live together.. so its basicly just a "ill see you in a week"..

we dont see each other every day anyway coz we both have weird work schedules and she also plays in band half her spare time.

loads of time for me! :D

that being said, ill prolly see her the day before release. :P

that looks like a tax disc surround thing, put it in the bin:p

I bought the wife a DSi plus prof layton also bought her FFIX for her PSP, might get her a Kindle too .....

I already took her to Amsterdam a few weeks ago, to return on GT5 release day, she couldn't be angry at me playing GT5 after she had a holiday.........You can understand my disappointment when they delayed the release.

I've already invested in a wheel stand pro to hide the steering wheel out of sight, apparently steering wheel on ironing board doesn't fit with the decor.

I bought a TV transmitter thing, so she can watch Sky in the bedroom or kitchen.

I had to fork out for Take That tickets, The Script tickets and accomodation for both to show my 'appreciation and nice side'.

It is her birthday on the 19th of this month, shes getting an iPhone 4 and as long as i find a good solitaire app, she'll be too busy playing that.

She is also getting a few new boxsets of anything she wants, i'm hoping she'll look for something that went on forever. She has already exhausted every episode of Friends whilst i was playing prologue.

As regards to understanding my passion for GT5, she already has gone past the point of asking what i'm reading on my phone, and already knows that i've must have heard something good about GT5 if i come home smiling.

If only they would release more crappy Twilight books and films, they keep her occupied for ages!

For once, I'm looking forward to dropping her off at as many Christmas staff nights out as possible.

Well I have a girlfriend who's just as much waiting for GT5 as I am. Talk about a good couple!

She's just got into GT4, and she loves it, even though she can't get past the license tests...

''(insert random bad joke about women and driving here)''

My mrs is looking forward to GT5 as much as me, She has her own PS3 and my old DFGT :)

My girlfriend is a Volkswagen Samba Bus addict. It's her favorite car in the world because she thinks it's cute and fun-looking. So if she starts yelling at me because I've been on GT5 for hours, I'll start a 2 player race with the VW bus and she will let go ;)
Also, small attentions can help.

Not really thought about this aspect to be honest. But I need to.

I know my mate will want to come round all the time to play it, so the missus will no doubt take a back foot to some extent.

I guess it's all about damage limitation - but how, I don't know.

1.) Tell her GT5 takes priority for the next month - she'll be mad.
2.) Don't tell her about GT5 and make excuses not to see her - she'll be mad.
3.) Still see her, but play GT5 when she's round - she'll be mad.

Either way, the other halves aren't going to be happy.

"Yes dear"

"Really?"

"That's nice"

"I'll let you decide"

"In a minute"

"Just one sugar please"

"Not as much ketchup this time"

job done.
