Ha ha - this thread is class

Not long split from the GF and moved home to parents house so i have all the time i need :)

Also saving to buy a new car so GT5 will supply plenty 'free' nights in of entertainment (besides the initial cost of course).

I think the question is how will my wife keep me happy to prevent GT5 from shipping?

Its really not very hard. Im not a kid anymore so I dont exactly sit around playing games all day and night. I probably spend under 10 hours playing games every week, even if Im excited about the game. It's mostly on the weekends when she's out or working.

I'll just let her down gently.
Fold her up and pack her way till next time.

No prob,
GT5 Sign Ed.

I live alone with my dog and not with my parents. My dog is easily amused and easy to keep happy. Once she has her toys and a rawhide bone to chew on she is happy.

Yeah, my wife's pretty much the same.

As long as my wife can watch her dvds on the pc whilst playing poker on facebook-she will be happy whilst I play GT5-though as other people have said its not like I'm on the PS3 constantly, I mostly play whilst she is in bed (she has early morning starts for work)

"Yes dear"

"Really?"

"That's nice"

"I'll let you decide"

"In a minute"

"Just one sugar please"

"Not as much ketchup this time"

job done.

*whips out tape recorder*

Thanks for the phrases! Very useful ;)

I warned her a while ago that my PS3 would become my second girlfriend (only on the mental aspect, not physical :D) as soon as GT5 would be released.

my PS3 has given me more enjoyment than any girlfriend I've ever had.

The only problem with this is it won't be long before you've agreed to do something and you have absolute no idea what it is. You then have the difficult task of finding out what it was without her realising you weren't listening :p

my PS3 has given me more enjoyment than any girlfriend I've ever had.

Is that because your PS3 exists?

While reading through this post and laughing at some of the answers, my wife (who is pregnant with our first child) came up and asked me what was so funny...

After explaining to her, she looked at me with a smile and said...

"Well, Honey, you have 7 months left to play GT5, so I hope for you that it does come out, and sooner rather than later!"

:-)

12 days to go! wouhou....

I don't think that girlfriends/wives have a problem with men playing video games. The problem they have is that normally it means that you're not in the same room as them. Even if there is no general conversation women generally want there man in the same room. I can't recall the amount of times I've stopped halfway through a gaming session to then sit in silence with my girlfriend while she watches some rediculous TV show.

So you have two solutions. You either place your GT5 setup in the same room as where your girlfriend/wife is watching TV or you add a second seat to your gaming rig so that your partner can chat away to you while you're racing.

This. My wife is basicly the same way, I don't have to pay attention to her all the time but I need to be around. Thankfully I just got her a new DSI and some games so that will keep her busy.

Of course this is also the women that when I said I was getting the Fanatec Carrera Wheel told me I should just go ahead and the GT3 RS with all the trimmings ^_^ God bless her.

I'm going to teach her how to race and LIKE IT TOO! If she doesn't.. well.. there are a million other girls out there.. :)

No girlfriend so I won't have a problem (broke up about 2 weeks ago, she did it, as they do)

Lost all respect for women TBH, too many times have I been pissed about.

Mates, GT5, my mountain bike, car, iPod etc etc beats having a girlfriend anyday, until the day that someone comes along and learns to respect us men like human beings and not another piece of **** on the floor. I treat all girls with respect so why don't I get the same back...

(rant over)

My mrs is looking forward to GT5 as much as me, She has her own PS3 and my old DFGT :)

Cool now all you need are two cockpit setups and you guys are good to go. Your a lucky man! :)

Not good for fast lap times. :indiff:

Make sure you wash her mouth and let the air out first.

Oddly, my wife is being really cool about this. She knows it's a big deal for me and basically said, "When you're playing, I'll just watch netflix on the computer."

So I'm covered.

Lol you guys, I wish my wife understood my obsession with this game. She still thinks that I'm nuts that I check this forum this often. However, one and only game she plays and adores on PS3 is LBP and she can't wait for the second one in January.

We are in the same boat! And I just bought the PS3 for like 2 months?

She's already addicted and its begging me to get another controller to play LBP with her!

Well since I pre ordered, she been getting a lot of me time, so way too much sex and all that stuff that she loves to do together. I barely play games now, but once GT5 hits, I will change that into a different story altogether. If she pisses and moans, just a night out and a lot of sex until she's sore, then I claim I'm sore and say I need rest for a week. Been running that one after each encounter after those hours long sessions so I'm good to go with that story. GT5 will help me heal as it's a manly game, full of testosterone and metal. It's foolproof i tell you, ha ha! I had been going to the gym since February to prepare me for driving stints, I'm a lean 178lbs, have my big cup ready to, 5.1 system is ready and will recalibrate when I have GT5 to ensure proper sound.

Chocolate and reruns of Real Housewives and Teen Mom.

Mine easily has a number of things to do when I'm gaming and it's always been like that. Some nights I'll come home from work, eat a 10min dinner with her. Then will go game the rest of the night, sleep, and not talk to her until 6pm the next day back from work and she is perfectly fine with that.

We go out a couple nights a week...so home time, we are fine keeping to ourselves.

I will miss her. I really will.

She has been throwing me dirty looks as I was building my setup this week. I didnt think she would believe me, but she knows whats coming. Collecting the G27 tomorrow, cant wait to see her face, especially when I start to clear out the spare bedroom and install the "futon" for mates that are going to be turning up!!

Ha Ha.

Cant wait!

I got my girl hooked when I bought a DFGT to replace my DFP. Now I'm stuck playing GT5P with her using the DFP and she gets to use the nicer DFGT.

I'm going to try to get her to switch shifts with me when I come up to the 24 hour races.

So chaps, how are you going to keep her happy When GT5 Ships?
by thinking about the awesomeness of GT6 <_<

GT1 (good) > GT2 (better)

GT3 (good) > GT4 (better)

GT5 (good) > GT6 (bestest!)

... or so you think!

So guys n gals its FINALLY on its way to us huh? :)

I hope it hasnt changed from the 24th Nov release date already?. Call me silly but until its actually in my hand i wont believe it

Well my boss can take a flying leap if he thinks im going to work the 25th and 26th. Thanksgiving is on the 25th if im not mistaken. Even after 6 years of being over here i still forget the holidays. So Yeah he can really go do one if he thinks im going to go in the Friday afterwards.

This is my first port of call since reading that the game is actually coming out now, so has anyone heard if any stores will have a midnight release??.

Im so excited, i feel like a little kid at xmas :)

As for my wife...............well she wont exist for a few months im guessing............just joking offcourse. Now being at work is going to suck because that 60 hrs a week i spend working could be better spent on GT5. Thats going to be the hardest part for me.
