The AI doesn't use a strictly scripted path as before.
It now has AI, they will overtake eachother rather than driving on their pre-determined driving lines.
Also, they're aware of your position relative to them, they will brake rather than ramming into you now.
Epic.

The AI is definitely smarter. Bob now solves a Rubik's cube with one hand while driving. With the other hand he gives all the GT5 haters the finger.

My Bobs, for all their experience, seem to be on new medication or something. Try the X2010 on the Indy 500 or the first DCC race, watch as your Bob, instead of hanging back from his opponents, either:

1. Does a shimmy and streaks past
2. Does a shimmy, gets it wrong and sends himself or your opponent into a spin
3. Just slams right into the back of your opponent, waits a little then passes

He also pulls some banzai moves when he goes off and needs to return to the track, no more waiting for everyone to coast by.

OK it's a little clumsy, but still an improvement and I suspect he will fare better driving a slower car.

I think the B-Spec AI for Bob has improved a lot...

Before as many have said, he would continually backoff when approaching an overtake and same if he was side by side going into a corner he would back off and generally yield...

Last night i ran 5 or 6 B-spec races and noticed he's a lot more agressive ... he got squeezed into a corner and even took to 2 wheels on grass and held his line rather than automatically dropping back.... he would overtake a lot more of his own vollition when the chance was there

I think that rather than having to completely overpower the car to get a win i can actually let him fight it out and he'll hold his own and stand a reasonable chance

Still seemed poor on ovals though (inappropriate and unnecessary braking) and struggled to win at daytona even with a clearly much faster car

I have a feeling nothing changed and people only think things changed because of a new update. Just like when GT5 first came out people were saying how great the AI was and then a month later we all realized its terrible.

LMAO PD put it in the news section about the changes and you think that they haven't changed anything, my god they are lying to us perhaps PD are really the government 💡. I for one go into things with an open mind and the A.I is definitely improved, I don't get all excited and get a semi over an update for a game, so if there was no difference I would know.

Same here. I didn´t try it yet. But there are so much people discovering any changes after the new patch....and just a few are true.

Some people are a bit too excited and overenthusiastic, when new patches come out.

Yeah I have seen some of what people are saying, this happened after the last update too, I just go off the list that is in the news section as I think what is in there is all that has been done. Like I said above there is a definite improvement in the AI but I need to try evenly matched cars with them now to see how much they have improved.

Yeah, this is what worries me. Hopefully, PD will prove us wrong...
:nervous:

Mr. Blue Thunders quote above:
"Haha. Yeah, that was funny. "WOW they actually react to you now!" - "They don't drive like they're on rails!" - as some reviewers said. Then our copies arrived in the post, and we all played it. Certainly put those statements to bed."
This!! lest we forget!

I need to put my Bob back in that Monaco race with the classic cars, using the Toyota 7. Needed a lot of babysitting before, maybe now he won't, though all my Bobs have gained experience since then.

This is how idiotic B-Spec / AI can be sometimes....

I repeatedly tried to do the Like the Wind Indy race with my Bob and never managed to get him to finish higher than about 8th

With a wide range of driving styles in my Bob army .... my 'best' one normally is a level 21 and even with 1.06 still couldn't managed more than 7th.

So i thought i'd level up a new bob since the XP's been upped .... so i rolled a new chap, he's a mid temperament with a bias towards cornering / braking more than other things.

Send him to indy and on his very FIRST race finished 1st!

By lap 2 he's got no mental/physical strength left but i kept him fighting and pushing all the time and he didn't put a wheel wrong the whole race ... he won by 0.064 and i was thrilled

But how can a level 0 bob who's a beginner compete with and win (in spectacular fashion) when my 3 others struggled to maintain more than about 8th place with an identically setup car!

The main thing I've noticed is that if you are in a corner with the AI they will drop out. Literally I was side by side with another F2007 in the challenge event and he dropped acceleration to let me by and went two places back. LOL.

Yeah, BIG improvement.
