The track selection in GT5 is great, but they forgot New York City, Tahiti, and Midfield. Maybe they'll be in the next software update? Anyone else's favourite tracks missing?

PD didn't "forget" these tracks, they merely didn't include them because they wanted to put newer tracks in the game; keep it fresh.

There are other threads already extant here at GTP on this very topic, which means this one will probably be locked.

Well forgot, didn't include, or whatever, they should've included them along with the many older tracks that appear in GT5 from older games in the series. Why they would include older tracks like Grand Valley, Laguna Seca, Tokyo, Trial Mountain, and others, and not NYC, Midfield, or Tahiti seems like a strange choice.

Why? Why should they include all these tracks again? Granted, I agree that I loved racing on them, but if I had a choice I'd want some new tarmac to explore, personally.

I dont understand the track selection, to be honest. Regarding the fact that they just took over Trial Mountain, Autumn Ring etc. without changing, why not include all the tracks from GT4?

And why not a bit more new real tracks? Spa, Road America, Avus, Pikes Peak... And as a Stuttgarter, I would have loved to have the Solitude Race Track from the 60s! :indiff:

Generally, more of those great old tracks now deemed too dangerous would be killer!

pikes peak and seattle would be my two choices. but i'm pretty happy to be able to cruise the ring whenever i want to.

Call me crazy, but probably because PD didn't want to just do GT4 over again? Every GT to this day has had some tracks included from earlier games, but some deleted. There's also the challenge of trying something new. I imagine it's more challenging for the PD team to include brand-new tracks instead of always rehashing the old ones.

I would agree here, but don't forget the whole DLC angle. You hook your PS3 up to an internet connection, sign in, and updates will be automatic every month for awhile. Totally possible some of these greats could therefore appear in an update.

I think PD needs less of a challenge, tbh. Time spent making new tracks could have been used for making more premium cars. OR.... crazy as this sounds, actually include the freakin' Trans Am for a change (in the 4th Gen it could be just a palette swap for the camaro, wtf?! But no, shafted again!), or the production Solstice Coupe and Roadster.

However, that aside.... I do appreciate new tracks. But as someone pointed out, they can shovel some old tracks, so why not others? It's not as if in cluding all GT4 tracks is "remaking GT4 over again". AND... re-adding some that have been lost would be just like adding new content anyway (Red Rock, SSR11, and Grindelwald for ex.). What makes certain GT1 tracks more special than others? Yeah, Grand Valley is a classic, but so were Midfield and Apricot Hill - and SSR11, and El Capitan, and.... on and on, really.

It would be nice if they could be download content, but would have been nicER if they could have just tossed them in as well, just as they were, and maybe either state that no further development was planned, they were just added so people could use them, OR, work on them whenever they get around to it and release updates, or even as part of GT6 maybe.

Seattle, El Capitan, and Grand Canyon i was really looking forward to seeing in HD. i also used to do a lot of time trials on Midfield and Approcot Hill, so its a bummer that i haven't seen any of those yet. I think some DLC of this kind is in order for the fans of the old game, but i also agree that new tracks should take precedent. well, new real tracks should take precedent. new fictional tracks kind of make me 'meh'

Yeah I agree I want new tracks to explore as well, I'm just saying a lot of people like myself like those older tracks, and they should've been included considering how long the game was in development for. I would love to race on the Tahiti track again, my all time favourite rally course.

there seem to be some really stupid comments on here, what they are saying is yes new tracks are great but why not just throw in the old tracks for people who want to race them, its got nothing to do with it being a new game if you dont want them dont use them simple as that!! :) and can someone answer is there going to be any new content to download as in cars and tracks, besides some standards being turned into premium, which i guess will probably include one or two more RM cars??

i'd like to see Spa, one of the greatest tracks in the world, with one of the greatest corners in the world, as well as Road America, Watkins Glenn, Imola.

We're probably gonna have to wait until GT6 to see the return of every single track we're missing, but in the meantime I don't think it's unreasonable to assume a few more will be available for download. I mean, PD will be working on them for GT6 anyway, so it doesn't mean going out of their way too much...

As for specific tracks, I'd love to see Grindelwald from GT2 again. That would look pretty sweet when upgraded to PS3 graphics...

First post here it goes....

What about ...
Abu Dhabi
Sebring
Long Beach!!!
Road Atlanta

Someone before said bring back the old courses that were deemed too dangerous. Great idea.

i'm missing the australian tracks like eastern creek and bathurst etc from other racing games, i was hoping that gt would have had an australian series seeing as its had the aussie V8 super cars in for a few years now

Yeah, that would be cool. As would adding Trans Am (the series) and Can-Am races. I got to thinking about that the other night while flying around a course in the Mach 1 Mustang - they have the 1st pony cars (save for 1!!:banghead: ), and race mods, so it would be cool to have that series. Ditto with the Chapparals and Can-Am Toyotas and such that they had in GT4 (not sure if that's still in 5 or not).

An Aussie V8 Super Car series (and tracks) would rock.

While we're at it adding to a track wishlist... hehe :) I'd like to see Road Atlanta to go along with Road America (or did I already say that? can't remember, sorry if I'm repeating myself).

But, honestly, the GT1-4 tracks were awesome. I'd rather see them improved and new cars (premium cars in particular) added instead of new tracks. :)
