Still no luck for me...I've sort of given up. I got to Olcadan fagain and he was Astaroth!!! I thought all my Christmas' had come at once (no pun intended) and so I proceeded to attack him the same way I did two battles prior to the encounter only to be schooled again...by Astaroth!!! If I can't beat him I'm done for!

Sorry to big back a really old thread, but can someone help me on Chronicle 19 (i think it is, it could be 20).
Its the one were you to defeat a load of normal people before an impossibly boss & once your dead your dead, you cant get your character back.
Anyway, i can get to the boss easily, i just send in all 5 people at once & pound on them till they die. I do it so the one with the most health is always first and thus dies (which is ok, coz am crap with her). But when i get to the main guy he is impossible to defeat. any tips?? please!!

Hey guys. I was wondering if someway good give me some sound advice for beating Chronicle 20 with a lvl 56 ninja at this point. This is my first run. I also have helping me a 46 assassin (kunai), 42 Samurai (katana), 45 Samurai (Katana & Shuriken) and 55 Sage (Chinese Blade or sword?).

I would appreciate any help.

If I'm not mistaken, 20 is the final chronicle.
With that in mind, I'd like to point you towards this old post of mine...

Now for starters...
I've found the best way to level up in chronicles of sword.

Get through all the way up to chronicle 20 as you normally would.
(create a second c.o.t.s. save so you don't ruin the original)

Then at chronicle 20, create a character of the class you want to level up.
They will start at level 1.
However, because the opponents in chronicle 20 are all at level 50 or higher, it doesn't take long to level up.

So how do you do it since the levels are so lob-sided?
Well, use your entire group on the map against 1 enemy at a time.
Right before the opponent is killed by your group, select the character you wish to level up and select battle.
This will make it so you only need to land a few hits or maybe one throw to defeat the enemy.

Using this tactic I unlocked all "soul of..."
Also, get this...
Using this strategy I was able to level up from level 1 sage to level 30 sage in only 8 battles (all wins).

Now for just a few more things...
I beat night terror finally.
Also, I found that you can pretty much use any path and as long as you never lose and always select to face opponents that are mysterious or watching you...

Using the strategy mentioned for leveling up, I'd say you could easily level up to the point that your characters are fully capable of walking on the competition. 👍
