I really wish they didn't wipe the previous times cause I couldn't remember where I left off and had to go to each one one at a time. I remember they were fun my first time through. But now that they hindered trail braking, it's going to make it a bit harder I imagine.

What I did for master IA-8

First corner (the 1st tunnel one): brake between 300m and 200m, drop from 4th gear to 2nd gear, and go through the tunnel in 2nd gear staying close to the inside of the corner.

The "S" (left corner followed by right corner where those annoying little pins are): do them in 2nd gear and stay over the racing line. Once out of the "S", do not pressure yourself into up shifting asap or will loose speed. Go out of the corner, let the 2nd build up a little bit and then up shift to 3rd gear. Then let the 3rd gear build and right when you reach the bridge, up shift to 4th gear.

The final 2 corners (slight left corner before entering the last tunnel and right corner inside last tunnel): always 4th gear, loosen the throttle a bit when entering the first corner so not loose control over the rear, then throttle to the second corner and once again release throttle to go through second corner. Try to stay over 185km/h while going through this corner even if the car slides a bit as you go out of the corner.

The Lamborghini countach '74 is a wild horse, a very tail happy car, it will try to spin in almost every corner. Dont push it too hard or it will spin.

The gold really tight, it will take you a lot tries. If you see the demo ghost getting far away from you, just pause and try again.

The gold is 0.38:2xx, at start I was doing like 0.38:8xx and 0.39. But at the end I was consistently doing 0.38:500, 0.38:400 and 0.38:300 until one try everything when right and it gold.
Be persistent, dont give up.

I went back and tried IA-8 in VR as I hadn't done it on my main account.

Have to say a very tricky one. Took 11 tries which is a lot more than the others have taken (I'd already done them without VR)

The margins on this one are super fine.

The top time on my friends list is 7/1000s faster than mine 🤯

Ok, thank you. I'll use this as a reference guide for when I'm doing test IA-8. GV is also a narrow course, the bridge part is. The first part can be a trickster for anyone, but using Youtube guides and demo ghosts are good tools for getting a gold score.

IA-8 was beaten at last, but I was also stuck on Master - S8 (Spa) for a few days. This was also crazy difficult for me. Both is beaten now and I can focus on the last S-10 license 👍

I dont know how things are right now because of the physics updates. But when spec2 came out, master s10 was actually easier to gold than expected.
The demo ghost was not the greatest when it comes to gearing. Just choosing the right gear in every moment would get you an advantage over the ghost.

S-10 seems to be more challenging to me. But it is doable for most drivers. Even the lower-skilled groups. I guess I'll have to keep at it and practice, practice, and practice!

How are master licenses after physic change comparing to when they originally arrived in terms of difficulty ?

Idk to be honest, Famine explained it to me better a few months ago. Some tracks are easier than others based on how fast the car can drive on the track. The circuit experience at Eiger seems to be fine, I managed to earn a gold-level time on the three Sectors, but I haven't on the lap attack yet.

Disappointed in the difficulty tbh.

Since it's Master Licenses, I was expecting more of a struggle but the level of difficulty to gold everything is more or less the same as regular licenses.

Really? For me, it is A LOT more difficult. Normal licence was easy, but Master is hard for me. Definitely not the same as Standard

Requires a little less brute force and more refining how you drive and just having total control.

They are difficult because you are new to the game and learning.

Being difficult or hard is target threshold.

Agree. I am aware I am trying to overcome my lack of experience. These are new skills for me and I acknowledge it is a big effort. It doesn’t come easy. What os hard about Master Licence is the threshold - you need to be practically identical to the ghost. New lever of difficulty for me….

Well once you learn the trick in each test and exam, you'll find it won't be as hard as you thought it was before. The Super license in the master section is the hardest ones to earn gold though, so you'll have to have all your skills ready to tackle on the final exams. Good luck, yes you have to be close to the ghost to even cross gold territory.

So today I finally started with Master licences and done National B.
Who is interested how was I attacking leaderbords, not only golds, here is stream:

Impressive and thorough work man. It's not so bad up until the IB, IA and Super license tests. Then it starts to get more serious and tricky.

Thanks on the kind words Chris.

Here is my path through National A, had to splitted into three parts due Ferrari at Tokyo that took me over hour, until I watched demonstration video and released I had to stick to fourth gear.

I'd say there hasn't been anything on the level of regular S-10
thats because of the physics changes or timer? because nowadays normal S-10 is "simple" just give more gas (push bit harder). and i am writing this as mediocre controller andy (not good at the game). maybe it breaks the mental model of "good drivers" cause they like to touch apexes of corners and in this test you need to stay on the dry part of the track idk, as for me it's a simplification cause you know they can't make the timer TOO tight due to the suboptimal routing (as it's the case right now).
very interesting, i find all the rally/****car(bad tyres) tests pure cancer, all cars with decent handling/good tyres are very "predictable". also mechanically challenging tests are harder (like the formula on laguna seca, and porsche in IA-10 master) just because you need do everything very precise and in very short period of time or you are done (so micro execution).

S-10 is a major beast because you have to time everything right, if you even slack off somewhere, gold is out of the question. Even silver. So you have to make sure you have plenty of sleep to be alert and focused for the final exam.

i think you didn't read correctly or the post i replied to wasn't written correctly. as i understand it was about the normal S-10 license not the master. i have no doubt what master licenses have a very tight timers (basically you need to do it "perfectly", close to).
the only "hard" thing in normal S-10 is the first chicane uphill, you need to get enough speed out of it. the rest is just don't get on the wet and mostly let the car roll in many places (no brakes no gas) being not good at the game i can clearly see things which get out "ordinary" in sense of difficulty. most players are actually bad at evaluating it (especially the more skilled one, for them almost everything is "too simple" i personally don't get why they play single player at all, it's a like the top 1-5% in every game they have a very skewed view, and if the gamedev caters to them it's actually a big problem). "luckily" gran turismo mostly doesn't have this problem, except gt4 had some brainrotted missions just for the sake of being hard (i feel master licenses are similar in case of gt7).

i will use this thread to whine about the master licenses OuO (i hope messages automatically attach to the last one)
just did IB-4 (nsx) what an awful dumpster, it's basically about managing the stability of the car. i set TCS to 3 and it became MUCH easier to do consistent times (the biggest problem is getting out of the first turn into second compared to demo you usually lose a lot of time there at least in my case) with TCS 3 you can just give some gas and you basically can even overtake the demo... (with TCS 2 or less good luck baby sitting this dumpster, at least on controller ofc)
it's btw in general a good rule to up the TCS in cases the care behaves like **** (but also it's important it has to have 200 bhp or more, otherwise you usually just won't have the performance, once i banged into the wall on the monza license test, and the reason was exactly the TCS system, because car had very little bhp). i also timed the A-4/5 the tokyo ferrari one on TCS 3, suddenly everything becomes more clean and calm (and you don't lose speed).
