So then why don't non-denoms call themselves Lutheran?

And light-hearted spin off? Hardly! I get so much crap from Lutherans around me for being Catholic whenever religion is brought up as a subject! And did I ever say anything back to them? Rarely: Why? Because I don't like to argue about religions. Telling people that their religion is stupid or insulting other religions is like trying to convince somebody that 2+2=3...

From kindergarten to 7th grade I attended a private Christian(Bapsist) School.:scared: I think that's why I'm an atheist.

Gotta love having religion forced upon you.

I agree. I hate having to go to the private christian school that i go to now. I have begged my parents to home school me. But they said that it's a 99% chance i wont be home schooled :(

I was talking more about my own personal experience.:p

It was basically forced upon me. I as 4 when they made me start going there even though I had no desire to. It wasn't that bad of a school, but I didn't like all the religion stuff that was involved. The people who ran it were idiots, though. I used to take riddlin(sp?), and I went to the bathroom(with pills in hand) one day before I took it. While I was in there one of the teachers ran in there, saw me talking to some kid by the sinks with the pills, and accused me of trying to sell drugs on school property. I was thinking to myself, "Err, I'm like 11, or something, dude. How many 11 year old drug dealers do you know?" The people who ran the school even knew I took riddlin, but they believed the teacher.:banghead: They took me to the head guy's office where he proceeded to paddle me like 3 times really hard without even calling my ****ing parents to tell them the story. After he paddled me I ran out of his office cussing at him, and his wife as loud as I could. Then, and only then, they called my parents. My parents thought about pressing charges against the school, but instead they just took me out of it, and put me in public schools. That was one of the happiest moments in my life.

Blah. I ramble too much.

I wish the last 2 sentences would happen to me.

That happened to me in a public school once for supposedly getting mouthy with the teacher. When they had me assume the position and bend over and touch my toes I waited till the paddle was ready to strike and I bolted. Headed out the front door and straight home. I came back with my Mother and she let them have it with both barrels. They never paddled me again.

tell me somthing........how far is it from the school to your house?

If you spell it that way, it's your own thing Jim.

I spell it Hanuka. Other's spell it Chanuka. There's even more ways. I use the simple one. You are wrong though. HARD! wrong.

I've been in a Catholic school since year 2, and that's also why I'm an atheist...but they're better than public schools. ;)

Sorry for the misunderstanding. The reason why I thought it was a "light-hearted spin off" was because there was a ton of Lutheran's who went to the Catholic school I previously went to.

And honestly, what's the difference between Catholicism and Christianity? To me, it only seems like another branch of Christianity like Pentacostal, Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist, or Lutheran. I went to Catholic Schools for 9 years and I still can't figure out the difference..

I think it's stupid that they would even begin to think that you were selling the pills. Also, I'm quite shocked that they paddled you. I thought that was done away with a looooong time ago in Christian schools.

My how ignorant you are!

I was never around it; it was never talked about or used in school. Heck, I've never even been spanked as a child. I just thought many laws were passed against paddeling in schools- private or public.

Yeah, well... teachers aren't the smartest people in the world.

I'm not aware if it's currently legal, or not, or if it was legal, or not, at the time of the incident, but I do know it should be illegal. If I was a teacher I wouldn't paddle a kid. I'd be afraid they'd come back to school a week or two later and shoot me.

I was raised Orthodox Christian, but I've hardly been to church in years. Partly because the Priest kills the moment when he says Christ is the ONLY way.

Heh, my metalwork teacher told us privately once that if any kids give him cheek, hes gonna deck them, and he doesnt give a ****, because hes ready to tell the principal to shove the job where the sun don't shine.
