Look it up myself? I take care of both a 911 turbo AND an RGT(among other cars) and have had seat time with both. Both of the cars handle very similar and the engine is superb, nothing sounds better than a flat 6, imo(turbo or NA). I don't care about the badging, the only difference that truly stands out is the engine SETUP(interior feel is quite similar). A RUF is a porsche, but a porsche is not a RUF.

Thank you!!! I myself have owned quite a few Porshe's and OWN a CTR!! It most definitely drives, sounds, looks, and feels just like every other porsche, but with a better BUILT engine. Alois Ruf, gets his chassis directly from porsche, and uses main components from porsche engines, BUT he adds his own parts to make them better. I hear alot of people quote info about things they do not know, But I speak from experience.

BS. I've sat in a RUF, and a Porsche as well. Heck, I was only able to sit in a RGT b/c it was the owner's of the Ruf building in Tx.

The Ruf seems to have a more luxurious feel, while still keeping a Sports car feel in-tact.

Yeah, they only look exactly like them, run similar engine setups, and the interior feel is very similar....It's TOTALLY not a porsche :rolleyes

If it looks like a porsche, and it smells like a porsche, guess what, it's a damn porsche.

Noones denying the average Ruf uses a Porsche chassis and engine, but an Ruf is NOT a Porsche, is a SEAT Leon a VW Golf? No, a Vauxhall VX220 isn't a Lotus Elise either, I don't know which conversation you've been looking at but it's not this one cos the only person who doesn't know what he's on about is the guy you quoted who is saying Ruf's ARE Porsches.

MadduckUK
any car based on the golf chassis is a volkswagen?

lol, to add some more prove to what MadduckUK is saying...

Mazda 3, Volvo S40/V50, Ford Focus same chassis. Very different cars.

and same engine? Jaguar S-Type 4.2, Land Rover LR3, Volvo XC90 V8...VERY different.

Probably, but we have to get the 1 simple fact through some peoples' (not saying you) that Ruf is not Porsche. Porsche based, yes, but not a pure Porsche. This is getting as bad as saying Ruf is a Tuner.

Yes, Ruf tunes Porsches, but only when an owner ask.

You quote me as if I've said they arn't Porsche based, I quoted you since you took sides with that dumb ****er who said Ruf's ARE Porsches. Why even join this and make it carry on when we'd already esablished Ruf's were Porsche based before you and numpty back there decided it would be nice to carry it on.

I simply quoted you because of how fast this thread keeps moving, I hate to read broken links..
With that over with, Does anyone have good pics of cars with and without rear spoilers.

Porsche an RUF are very different. This has been covered many times (I remember when we argued whether it was RUF or Ruf). You guys who don't think Ruf is it's own auto manufacturor, only a tuner, should read up on Ruf's history.

http://www.rufautocentre.com/about/history.asp

Ruf does offer it's own after market parts for porsches but the cars they create are very different.

oh god what is THAT?!
you mean what WAS that? yeah and they are totally different. if it has its own VIN# then its not the same. its not like roush mustangs (which still have the ford VIN#s) oh and how is ruf pronounced?

Ruf is pronounced "roof". It's not an acronym.

I've noticed that the spoilers do look a bit wierd on some cars, but I guess it's because they're "one size fits all". I don't mind it though.
