true, but its like the old fat girls and mopeds analogy, fun to ride, but you don't want your friends see you riding one.

I've noticed a few cars that look, for want of a better phrase, like "Super-Standards". Detailing that is way beyond what we've come to expect from the standards, for example the Audi S4 looks incredibly well detailed considering it's a standard car.

(The only thing that lets it down is the fuzzy "S4" on the number plate)

I also think there's also a little bit of a placebo effect with some of the cars, now that we can change their rims, as they seem to make you focus more on the overall look of the car, rather than "good god, look at the state of those shutlines!" I know I end to pick darker colours for the worst offenders to mask this slightly, doesn't always work but it certainly helps.

So?
I rather have half-decent cars I drove and loved in GT3/4 than to have them removed because they weren't premium...

+100.000.000. Couldn't agree more. 👍 Besides It's almost like it's our last get together with the standard cars until GT6 comes. I'm happy they're in GT5.

@Smuttysy
We should call the standard cars "super standard" for now on. They deserve it. :)

Totally agree!

Most of my favourite cars are from previous GTs!

The pic that says gt4 on it, is gt4. The gt4 wheels were 3d BUT, the spokes on the wheels weren't. They were a 2d flat texture with cut outs to see the brakes (also a flat 2d texture) and wheel in behind. Really crude compared to a fully modeled rim but if it's in motion all the time, it's not that obvious. Personally I haven't really noticed if the standards have been cleaned up but there are a few that are VERY bad. I'll take a look later to see if things look better.

I definitely notice some clean up on some of the cars. Some look the same. Muddy textures and liveries on a couple I looked at were definitely sharper as far as I could tell. Not low res and ugly like I remember. The viper concept is cleaner looking for sure. Now if they could only give it 3d tips on the exhaust instead of a picture of exhaust pipes. lol.

I don't think we can blanket the entire standards selection now as "Super Standards" as there are possibly more bad ones than good.
Three words: Lamborghini Nomad Diablo
Possibly one of the worst resolutions / detail levels in the game. A cople of the decals are highly blurred thanks to massive stretching to achieve ps3 sizing while others seem crisp. The light clusters though are an utter joke, and belong to a Sega Megardive, rather than a PS3.

The decals make a lot of race cars look crappy, unfortunately.

Can you guys post some pictures of good standards, I want to buy'em
Link to the last page. A lot of them aren't GT5 Photo Mode originals, though.
