Is there a place where I can find the artwork background used in the credits? Some of them look really cool and want to use them as my wallpaper.

Great article about how the last episode came to be:

And an interesting tid-bit within:

That quest, we learn, is a search for the villain Grand Admiral Thrawn. The last time fans saw Ahsoka was this spring’s finale of The Clone Wars, but in the actual Star Wars chronology, the last time we saw her was at the end of Rebels, venturing off with Sabine Wren to find Ezra Bridger, who vanished along with Thrawn. Where does that scene fit in with where we find her in The Mandalorian?

Filoni: Right. But no, it’s an interesting one… That’s not necessarily chronological. I think the thing that people will most not understand is they want to go in a linear fashion, but as I learned as a kid, nothing in Star Wars really works in a linear fashion. You do [Episodes] Four, Five and Six and then One, Two, and Three. So in the vein of that history, when you look at the epilogue of Rebels you don’t really know how much time has passed. So, it’s possible that the story I’m telling in The Mandalorian actually takes place prior to that. Possible. I’m saying it’s possible.

Which makes no sense to me.

Actually

that was what I assumed (the Rebels epilogue happening well after the events we just saw unfold in the Mandalorian). I even joked with a friend that possibly Djin is Ashoka's ship pilot and Grogu is along for the ride/quest also.

One interesting detail from that Rebels epilogue is that Ashoka's ship arrives with an escort (two X-wings). So Ashoka definitely becomes someone important in the New Republic. And that is what I'm not seeing how it can happen if she stays away from the new powers (Mon Mothma, Leia, Luke ... )

Given the timeline that has been presented to us, just doesn't make any sense. There's like an 8 year gap between Rebels and Mandalorian.

I read 5 years somewhere but yeah, considering Sabine joined the quest and she's nowhere to be seen in Corvus, I guess that epilogue scene must happen more than 5 (or 8) years after Endor.

Fantastic episode today. My review (you absolutely shoudn't open it if you still haven't seen it).

I rate this episode as my absolute favourite from the whole series so far. I simply can't believe all of it happened in roughly 30 minutes.

Main points:
1. Mando having fun with Grogu in the ship - Much needed scene, wonderfully played and directed.

2. Mando still showing just how oblivious he is to all things related to Jedi/the Force - Sitting Grogu up on the stone and wondering out loud if it was up to Grogu to "make a call" or if Grogu just needed to sit there for a while so someone would contact him. Funny.

3. Then, out of nowhere, no introduction, not a hint to us viewers (we all were expecting imperials, of course) ... SLAVE 1 . I literally JUMPED (and I'm not that kind of emotional fan, didn't move a bit when Ashoka lit her lightsabers, and I consider myself a fan of that character too. I guess I was expecting her to show up already ...)

4. Another funny moment when Mando asks Boba if he is a Jedi. I had to contain a laugh (too early, kids asleep)

5. Action scenes were superb. Boba in "battle-fury" mode was shown as ruthless. as cold and as effective as one can be. The sheer amount of fighting skill he has shown, both with tusken weapons and with his armour, are so far unequaled in this entire series. It had the same effect on me I experienced when I watched the Obi-Wan - Jango "meet up" at the Kaminoan plattform (although very different fight and skill sets needed in each of these occasions). It was way better and more impressive than anything I could anticipate.

6. Not the RAZOR CREST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (another WOW moment)

7. A litle funny moment that - again - shows that a bit of humour, well placed, is good for the movie/episode and for the fans. Fett admitting his fantastic shot on the imperial shuttles wasn't supposed to hit the shuttle it did, with awesome consequences. Again, funny, and makes a scene that could be a bit "overkill" ... actually believable.

8. Dark Troopers - Again, I can't complain we didn't see them in actual battle. We will, and if the plan was to make them have a slow introduction in our psyche so we view them as ominous and menacing (first showing them "parked" in that hangar scene, second having them completing a simple, quick and successful "retrieval" operation) , I think it succeeded.

9. All we must know now is if, as many suspect, this special batch of Gideon's DarkTroopers (I'd have to check but they look exactly like the ones Thrawn had in Rebels) is "beskar-plated". If they are, I wonder what will it take to take them down in battle.

10. Finally, Grogu doing some "darksidey" stuff and Gideon gloating about it and teasing him with the Darksaber. A very well done scene also, making you wonder if the fear that Grogu must be experiencing (and we all know where fear leads a Force sensitive child) will ever be reparable. MY guess is that yes, it will, but only if Grogu is raised by a father or, even better, a family (we all learned that, according to Filoni, Ezra having a family (the "Specters") is what kept him from falling into the Dark Side.

11. Can't wait for the next episodes, I guess I'm lucky enough to be watching some of the best Star Wars ever.

Honestly for me the episode didn't leave a great first impression (kind of fan-filmy) but yet again we got so much action and information packed into 30-40 minutes. I like how the last couple of episodes they just throw us straight into the action instead of building up to it.

Wonder if any Jedi's were able to sense Grogu's presence. Very likely we'll see someone come around to find him, but who will that person be is probably the biggest topic of speculation in the Star Wars community right now. Hearing Luke Skywalker tossed around (hoping this isn't the case), Mace Windu (also don't want this) or someone we obviously won't expect or know. Personally I would love to see Cal Kestis show up... (along with Cere and Greez)

Over summer I watched all the movies and shows in chronological order but didn't make it past the beginning of Resistance yet (a little annoying, that show). Which is fine, because now we've got more Mando and more pieces are starting to make sense.

Friday's episode was so rad, and I'm happy they're finally giving Boba a true central role. He's always seemed like a mysterious outcast in the script before this, with only rumors that he was a badass and all that. And to think we waited basically 40 years to get a glimpse that he survived the pit in the first season, crazy. I wasn't alive when Boba "died". I've never bothered to read any Legends or other comic or book material so I'm no super fan studying all the possibilities but after seeing Boba as a child in Episode 2 and then discovering The Clone Wars and realizing how much work they put into his story I figured there was no way they'd settle for such a silly death. Seeing him back and as badass as ever - and not truly evil - is pretty exciting.

Why did it end like that!

I get the direction they're going with, and I really want to see what happens next.

Thank you! The Bad Batch trailer is intriguing, it seems the action will be post-Republic, after Order 66 and the foundation of the Empire.

I've no idea where this is going. Did this batch have the "chip"? Are they going rogue or will they become a loyal imperial special ops unit?

It would be wonderful if we managed to have a follow up on Rex in this era and understand how he ended up with Wolffe and Gregor.

OMG OMG what a time to be alive!

And another great episode today.

My spoiler free coment is this:

It went from an unexpectedly simple beginning to an ending that, as it should, leaves us in suspension until next week's final.

Most of all, it was surprising in many ways, not at all the episode I was expecting to see today.

I agree, I really like how simple they're making everything, whilst still digging into wider stories. It's all still great connective tissue.

We get a mention of operation Cinder within minutes of Fett dropping some epic seismic beats* Great call-backs to other parts of the canon.

*Auralnauts reference.

Pretty good episode. I liked the transport scene, gave me Indiana Jones vibes :)

Spoiler; I went hard into the nerd section of my brain.

I don't know where they go with this. Din Djarin is out, Boba Fett in?

I understand this story is 25 years before Force Awakens, but does one feel that is enough time to train Grogu? Was he one of those killed by Kylo Ren? But I think if that was a theory one would quickly conclude, the writers wouldn't have included. Especially a Disney franchise. So I feel that isn't the last time we see the child.

I thought the episode was great, just a couple nitpicky things...

I kind of wanted someone other than Luke to show up. I think everyone expected it to be him, but I kind of wanted Cal Kestis or someone not so well known. Either way his entrance was pretty epic. I did have a hard time with the CGI of his face, it looked a bit stiff to me. I'm waiting for someone to release a deep fake version soon, pretty confident it will be better than what we saw.

With that said, I was watching along with the Star Wars Theory guy on YouTube and he burst into tears and had trouble gathering his thoughts after the episode. Seeing the effect it had on long time Star Wars fans made it worth it. I'm more choked up about Grogu being gone. :( Will be interesting to see where they go for Season 3.
