Does anyone here listen to SRV?? Is he not an excellent guitarist? I've only got 2 of his albums, because of my rather limited budget for music. Hope to get more, though.

SRV was the best guitarist since the death of Hendrix, hands down. Incredibly versatile, incredibly expressive, and with a good ear for interpretation as well as composition. Stevie exposes Saint Clapton for what he is: a soulless copycat.

Which two albums do you have?

I used to get my guitar out and jam with Stevie's music all the time.

Now the guitar needs some repair work and the GT3 weekly takes up my time.

Slicks,

If you haven't done so already, pick up a copy of one of his live performances. He does his best music live, and seeing him play is a big part of the experience.

completelly. his live performances are downright amazing and undescribable. one of the best guitarrists ever, and also composer of many classic (and not so classic but cool as hell) blues songs and some hard country. and, heh, I also agree with Neon in that SRV is way better than clapton, but that aint that difficult ^-^

SRV is a guitar god.

and his live version of the sky is crying and voodoo child is amazing.

heres a great cd for all the new SRV fans .It has 32 songs on 2 cds and is my favorite cd in the world

Sure do.... Ever hear his live acoustic jam on MTV? It's jaw dropping.

Talk about feeling, every note he would pour out his soul.

Great band as well!

When you scrounge up the cash, Get the video of SRV at "Austin City Limits".
It has both shows he did there on it, and it is absolutely jaw-dropping.
