BTW: where's Mario?

As for Mario, I've been hearing lots of rumors. Some say he got drunk, slammed a mod and was promptly banned. Others claim he started racing PC sims and became an immediate high brow snob and refuses to be seen in this forum. But the most plausible one is that he's on holiday and his wife threatened a divorce if he went on-line. ;) I suspect we'll see him back on-line early next week--if not sooner.

So are we going to organise a race tonight in FC or not? I'm up for a late night (for me) race at 10pm GMT (11pm UK time). My suggestion would be for Mugello (wet) and Spa Francorchamps 30 minute races :sly: or something along those lines with something like the 348, F355 or something. 👍

Welcome back you drunk, vacationing, high-brow snob. LOL Sounds good to me too. I'll see you guys on-line later.

My vote goes to jjaisli, the sober, hard-working, low-brow humble man! :D He has headset and a very stable connection, from my experience!

Looks like Saarinen69 [MHailwood] got his name in 'lights' from a French on-line review. ;)

Since this game isn't getting released here, what is the best place to have it imported from?

It may yet be released in the US. S3 claims they are still working on it. But if it does happen, it probably won't be for a few months. And I just wasn't willing to wait on a very iffy "what if" chance.

I ordered mine from here: www.game.co.uk However:

1. I went through hell as the online store couldn't complete my transaction.
2. I had to call them 3 times, including sitting on hold for over 20 minutes at rates I wouldn't care to guess at.
3. The confirmation email I was supposed to receive never came through.

Looks like the french have got it. Wolfii has gone top of the leaderboards driving a F333 sp! How am i going to beat that with a DBR9!

I started to write an overview, but I'm so tired that I rally can't do it right now :)

So fast conclusion:

If you liked Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, you're going to like SCC.

Dead-zone on G25 is still there but is managable, online works better (at least those 3 races I had were pretty much fine), rain still looks gorgeous, there are new twists in game modes, there are few new cars and tracks (however, Lamborghini has disappeared from undisclosed reason) and overall - it is game that FCTP should be from the first.

Feel free to ask specific questions, I guess there are members here who also got their hands onto game and we'll try to answer everything in upcoming days prior to release.

Great to hear Amar! I guess what I'm most curious about is how some of the older cars from Ferrari Challenge perform, behave and feel in the new game. Exactly the same, slightly different or big changes? In other words, if you drive them back to back (meaning the same car from FC and SCC) how do they compare?

Are these lists http://forums.eutechnyx.com/index.php/topic,510.msg5676.html#msg5676 correct? If the two Lamborghinis are missing, 42 cars are left. For me they were interesting non-Ferrari cars. I hope it's not true.

That list was provisional. But keeping in mind what Amar posted above...

...(however, Lamborghini has disappeared from undisclosed reason)...

I assume it's true and there are no Lamborghinis in the box. Ironic that just two weeks ago I was ranting about System 3 and their inability to run a professional operation and among other things, we were less than a week before the official release and we don't even have a car list. I mean, we saw pictures of a Lamborghini in screen shots put out by System 3. So nothing surprises me anymore.

So what's the deal with pre-order cars? I pre-ordered back in February at GAME.

As far as I know, but please correct me if I'm wrong a GAME pre-order is for the Ferrari and a Gamestation pre-order get you the Mercedes. Apparently I should have received a code through the post but I haven't got anything.

I get a feeling that I'm missing out here and I really, really want that Ferrari.

I will only say this. GAMESTOP in the US and Canada had a deal with System 3 when the NTSC version of Ferrari Challenge was released. They had a 'special' F599 GTB in the game that could only be unlocked if you ordered from GAMESTOP. Well, the "code" turned out to be a certain key combination from the opening screen. There was no prompt for it--you just had to know it. And I think everybody with the NTSC version of Ferrari Challenge has unlocked that car because once the information was out there, it spread like a grease fire.

I think it's just too costly to produce a different retail version of the game so I suspect, just like with FC, it will be a code that you just have to know. So eventually, I'm sure no matter where you order it from, you'll have those cars because somebody will post the codes.

^^^^^ this is what happens when you start writing a reply in a thread that is at the same time being split by the GTPlanet owner himself ... and you take too long to post it :sly:

Does anybody want to race me on SCC, everyone is still on beta except me so i cant create a lobby with all the SCC cars. One other thing is that i can still race with the beta crew with full game.

@ To all my friends, i brought a new copy of FC

I don't understand this game. It seems like you can only corner in like 1st or 2nd gear. Like you have to slow down an unbelievable amount for every corner. Maybe I'll play it again and see what I think.
The graphics are also pretty unimpressive.

Stupid question time: Can you race with several different models on track at once, or is it still "single make" stuff like in FC?

Thought so - bit of a disappointment but still, based on my 2 minute go of a full release version last night, this game looks to be a big improvement over FC (which I quite liked anyway).

I get my copy today and after waiting six months for it, this better be worth it.

Might go online and look for some of you guys
