The only issue with the BETA is that most people like to choose the DBR9...which is a bloody good ride...but I wish that there were more competitive Enzo/F1 lobbies.

They may not handle as well as a pure LM car but they are still fun to drive, in my opinion.

Spa is just the bomb.. cant get enough of it :)
Agreed. Spa is sweet. Too bad I can only handle the DBR9. I can't drive the Enzo or McLaren for crap! Probably comes down to lack of practice. Either that or I just suck.

Edit: I think I may have unknowingly answered your question, Vincent (being we were posting at the same time).

Got some inofficial Informations about the release today. From my point of view it doesn´t look like one more week!

My copy is on it´s way and if everything works fine i will write a big posting here this weekend :)

The first thing I want to know is if the 355 Challenge handles exactly like it did in Ferrari Challenge--back to back--better, worse, same, different, etc. :) Please.

Yes, the handling of the 355 Challenge was awesome! It will be very interesting to finally compare the handling of the cars well known from FC with their new interpretations in SCC. I will report !

I know you shouldn't but can you post a + or - in regards more or less than a week? Just hide it in a future post we'll see it LOL oh and if your getting your hands on the review code it can't be that far away?:)

I agree with the "week" and I'm also waiting a sweet present very soon, maybe even sooner than I think.

@amar: Would be nice to drive again with you. It´s been some time since we drove the 250 LM (??) around Virginia! At least 4-5 Months! You stopped playing FC very early !!!

hi guys
Still confusion when the game comes out.System3 webpage now says 4-9 and my pre-order at shopto says the same, but game.co.uk still at 29-8.It looks like FC all over again.

Sorry guys but I got an question for you that nobody here can really answer :D

NFS Shift or Super Car Challenge?

I need a racing game till GT5 comes out... NFS Shift seems a lot of fun with great tracks and a lot of cars... But maybe its a bit arcade...

I never read anything about SCC and dont know the track and car list... I dont like the graphics from the game (yes im outing me,graphics are so important for me like the physics too) and I dont really like the Beta (now the game is coming out I think we can talk about the beta?)

I played GTR2 and rfactor for a long time but in the SCC beta I cant hold the cars on the track... (All driving aids off) they handled very curios for me... I dont think thats its that hard to drive an 600hp car in an corner where you turn with 30 mph... And I have played the beta only 2 or 3 days and get bored...

So I think Shift is the better game FOR ME but we know EA but also we know System 3... both are not the best...

What do you guys think is the better game to kill the time till GT5 comes out...

I think you´ve already answered your question. It somehow sounds like you really don´t like SCC !?!?

And if graphics are that important for you, you should better keep your hands away from SCC. It´s Ok! It looks solid, but it will not deliver the "real next generation"-look that GT5 or Shift will offer.

But Shift will definately be more Arcade than SCC! I have no problem keeping the cars in SCC on the track. I drove a 1:55,00 one week ago with the Aston on Nürburgring in the BETA.

But you´ve played the BETA! So no one else will be able to give you more or better Infos about SCC, than the ones you were able to collect in the Beta.

So your real decision is: Accept more Arcade or accept "not so good" graphics

Buy both probably because each one offers something that other one does not have.

At least I'll be doing that.

Same here... I have them both pre-ordered at my local gameshop that I always go to... now its just waiting... I'm really looking forward to SCC though.. I like the beta a lot and you actually have to work hard to put in good clean laps... on a wheel atleast... havent played on a sixaxis :) I had a DFP before and the FFB on that thing from SCC is really rough on you on the highest setting... I plugged in the G25 I just got and it was a lot less rough then with the DFP... quite strange I think.. maybe because the DFP is smaller?

Am I the only one who thinks graphics in SCC beta are actually worse than in FC? Yes, the colours are more realistic, but there actually seems to be less background detail - look at the hills at Spa.

Strangely enough, I'm also missing the brown road surface. :dopey:

Actually i didn`t yet take a more precise look at it! I simply drive the car! For me only the nearby track surroundings are important. So after playing the beta for about 3 months i can not really tell you how the trees look to me!

By the way: I hate trees!:dopey:

LOL! Well, I don't miss the brown roads but I was a little perplexed when people in the Eutechnyx Beta forums kept commenting that the graphics in SCC where much better than Ferrari Challenge. I fail to see it as well. But I think it's important to note that much of the detail we see in Ferrari Challenge comes from looking at replay mode. Even as beta testers, there's a lot of details we can't see yet.

Well, I'm not talking about replays, but what I see while driving. The background hills at Spa in SCC are a smudgy impressionist rendering compared to FC.

The less said about Eutechnyx's trees the better: they resemble something my 6 year old might assemble out of pipe-cleaners & tinsel. (My favourite in-game trees: F1CE Monza on the back-straight 👍 )

Yeah pre ordering both games would be the right thing but woooh thats gonna be an expensive month... I think I wait for an Shift demo and if it isnt good then I get only SCC... (but I know, nobody cares :D )

I think the visuals in SCC are better than FC. Colouration definately looks more natural and the sun effects are nice.

FC had lots of incidental effects such as leaves swaying on track, crowd noise, tannoy announcer, trackside marshals, tree's that actually swayed and clouds that actually moved across the horizon. IIRC there isn't another racing game that has so much detail.

QUICK QUESTION: I pre-ordered with GAME back in February...it is GAME that supply you with the 599FXX, isn't it?

SCC, IL2 and NFS Shift in one month......not only the cost but where to find the time to play them all especialy with OPF2 coming out shortly after as well, I hate getting games and not having the time to play them. I may pick it up depending on the NFS demo.

I remember once finishing a race in FC at Montreal (Redwood Park) and having a long discussion with the other drivers after the race was completed while the cars endlessly circled the track. I was able to see certain parts of the track from angles I had never had before and picked up on amazing details--hospitality tents, cars next to the tents, boats on the lake inside the center of the Island. I was amazed that they went to that much trouble for things that you'll never, ever see during a race.

But that's what I mean when I say there may be many details in SCC that nobody knows about because your view is limited from inside the car. The color saturation is better in SCC but you could easily adjust it in FC. Whatever the case, I think the differences between FC & SCC are really quite minor.

I believe GAME is supposed to have two additional cars, yes.

Don't want to make this personal, BUT I was shocked to see how far you had the contrast turned up on your HDTV. ;)

Yes, there are a lot of nice details in FC - especially the trees/clouds/birds animation. The leaves are pretty hokey looking, however.

The colour of SCC is much more naturalistic, but there is a coarseness to the detail that is fairly different from FC, & has nobody else noticed the washy hills in the background of Spa?

I think it's an issue because the MAJOR problem with FC gaining popularity IMO was the graphics (imagine GT5P with FC's graphics - do you think people would be raving about how great GT5P is if it looked like that?!) & the lag. If SCC doesn't look much better than FC, why didn't they just continue to develop, expand & improve FC?

Played SCC today with a certain mingoturbo.Had some good battles, unfortunately his connection was poor so his car starting bouncing up and down and emitting great plooms of smoke! And to cap it all, bits of his car started falling off while bouncing up and down! FC has this problem but not as much smoke! For a while i thought mingoturbo had found a secret smoke emitting cheat! Also it doesn't look like your going to be able to race different makes of car in the same race which is a real shame.

great plooms of smoke
(I believe the word is plumes)

Well obviously it must have been the Aston Martin.
