Test them out, run many laps on the tracks you want to do, see their lap times and group them based on that. I would be interested in something like that.

I dont have time for that. School starts up next week and for myself, it's convenient to use sgt cars because I know enough about the cars...and if I dont know then google will most likely have an answer for me.

Always best to test cars you are using for an online racing series in your lounge or in an online room. Physics are different offline.

I agree, in the NASCAR GTPlanet Modified Tour in my signature, I held a test room and had up to 4 people racing. It was way different than when I held Arcade Mode Races with the Caterham.

I've driven both of those stealth models @ Cape Ring North (You have to admit, even though it is unrealistic it is a good test track) with a DFGT with 10 FFB and they felt the same to me, close to the same times (human error caused the difference in times)
The NSX oversteers and the GT-R understeers.💡 Quite different then NASCAR where they all oversteer.

I dont know enough about the cars honestly. Like which cars are better than others or which are fairly matched.

Just whatever cars you want, like a GT-R or an Impreza, and an other one, probably from the Prius, CR-Z and the Roadster(the 'baby' Touring Cars, so to speak) and you have yourself a multi-class race.👍

Really, NASCAR cars in real life usually understeer.

Well, in GT5 they do understeer a bit, but usually, when I'm driving, they oversteer on me.(pretty controlable but still oversteery)

Depends on the track and conditions, but if you watch an actual race the drivers do spend a lot of time turning right.

How else do they overtake on the from the inside to the outside? :dopey:

Thanks for posting this up DA.

These cars are very popular for good reason and not everyone can compete with the Division 1 & 2 racers either. Hopefully you'll get some drivers that a different time zone works better for them than the existing series. Several of them are pretty full up too.

I'd be interested if the races were held on Saturday. Only because I'm in a league that already has Fridays taken up at the same time slot.

I know you said we have to use premium cars, but are there any other limitations? Like how many of each car we can use. Are we running solo or can we come up with teams? Also, is there going to be more testing done for specs? I'm not 100% sure but isnt the Lexus going to be slower if we give it the same HP and Weight as the NSX and GTR?

Saturday seems best as of now because my class schedule looks like it may conflict with Fridays.

I was thinking about having the 500's go by regs other leagues use. I've seen others use something like PURE? I messaged someone who runs another series and asked about settings they required for each car and they said I could use those.

For now though, I was going to limit 500's like I said in the first post.

Ncr, hopefully this series will work out. If not, oh well. I'll try starting it another time. Thanks for posting!

If anyone is interested, race times will be on Saturdays. Room will open around 3 with the race beginning at 4. The series will start if/when enough people show interest. I know of 4 people that are definitely interested...so hopefully more people will follow.

Why should I? Aren't those series exactly the same as this one, only with different names?

Different times. There are thousands of racers roaming the online racing thread, Did you think that everyone is available to race at the same time? Whats wrong with having duplicate series? Is this thread in any way giving you pain? If you dont wish to join the series, dont put the series down by commenting.

@OP

Multi-class racing is great fun. I should know since I was in a series like this myself. lapping slower cars while having your own race is intensely fun. Best of luck...

Thank you sir.

So that 5-6 people I know of that are interested.

Regulations for both classes are being figured out still. I'm considering using PURE specs because as far as I know of, thanks to fellow GTPlanet members, it's the best way to make the cars as equal as possible. Then we just have to hope each person is honest and adheres to the regulations.

There is a way we can inspect cars either before or after the race. You can put me down on the list if the series gets up and running. 👍

By the way, 12 might be the magic number as far as participants go. I was in a race last night with 16 people on the grid. The lag was terrible. It also created understeer for everyone in the room. It wasnt until some people started dropping out that things started to get stable again.

There's been issues like this lately. Although, I raced in a full room the other day and had to real issues that were noticeable. I figure what we could do is have a preseason race, start with 16 drivers. If there's any problems, drop the last person in 500 and 300 to knock it to 14. Then if there's still issues, do the same thing and race with 12.

How can we inspect cars?

You just set the HP and weight limits before everyone goes onto the track before qualifying. You would do gt300 first and then gt500. They wont be able to get onto the track if they do not meet those specified specs.

No one is allowed to leave the track after qualifying starts. If they do it could result in a time penalty.

This is how its done in the FIA series I am in. Works out pretty good.

I thought you meant it's possible to inspect cars using PURE regulations. PURE settings don't put each car at the same hp. I understand what you mean though because I just ran with a series that did the same thing.

I'll run in GT300 depending on day/time. (Saturday works, but the later the better)
