For reals though you have your choice of the 370 fairlady z, ferrari california and if ncr is not racing the mazda rx8

I agree with Mike . All aids off in cockpit view could be fun.

We could try it tonight with the Stc cars just to see what people think. I just got home from a day at the amusement park and I'm beat. I'm still going to try getting on tonight.

Just to be clear, I am not recommending running an entire series this way. I just think it would be fun to give it a shot for one race. Although GT5 is a game and will be lacking some things, it can still be made much more realistic then what we are currently running just by changing or forcing a few settings.

It'll be hard adjusting and i know my times would tank. But i'm willing to bet that it would be a lot of fun. Heck, just running cockpit view and knowing everyone else is would be enough for me.
 
And to ease any fears of those that have witnessed my attempts at using the wheel; I will be using the controller.

Since NCR is the third Mazda I wouldn't have a problem with Privateer Dangit using any car.

I was just going to say if nobody minds dangit can use whatever car he likes.


Also, as for all the talk of switching to a more realistic/hardcore racing experience i hate to say it but thats not happening any tjme soon. First of all without the ability to force all players to equal settings there would be no way to know for sure if we all were following the rules and second the stc is and always has been a casual league. Maybe when we all upgrade to project cars...

Sorry DJ, i was not suggesting doing this during your league. I would never suggest that! The idea is just for fun and not for a league. Sorry to post here. This is where we are all posting now so there really isn't any other place to discuss this that i am aware of. But yeah, the idea is just for fun 👍

I'm out for sure this week. Hopefully can get back into it before season's end. I'm finding out Friday if surgery is needed so that's where I stand now. They're just trying to rule things out...I hope.

Check out those ABS off threads to get an idea about settings otherwise a tuned car might not behave like you want. That's why I was trying stock cars first. Much lower BB settings than I've ever used.

Just tested Motegi with all aids off while in cockpit view. What an experience. Managed a 1.58.5xx as my fastest lap. Lots of fun but takes full consideration. I've never searched so hard before for markers as braking points haha.

For even more fun, try arcade race at pro level, Motegi Road Course, use a premium Miata'89 - equip only racing exhaust, disable all aids,no hud, enter the race from menu with SH, then change to CS when starting the race for nice handicap. Enjoy the challenge. Don't forget to set AI to 10 in option.

I often did this kind of arcade races when I got bored.
 
I won't be on tonight, too tired. I'll be on tomorrow afternoon from 2:30-5 est and then I'll be in the open lobby at 9.

NCR brought it up about 4 months ago. So i've toyed around with it. But i haven't tested it without ABS. Sad we have to make so many tweaks to create a better offline racing experience.

That setup is the ****. I was like "who the hell is driving on fire like that". Then I read the description and I was all like, "oh". And then she was all like...Just kidding. Like.

Didn't you hit a 1:58 in our practice??? I know I wasn't drinking that day...Anyways enjoy your vacation and see you whenever you get back.
