I didn't think the Alfa was that bad when I tried it last night. It a lot of fun to drive, you just have to ease it in and out of the corners.

Its not bad at all. But its weakness is in the turns. For me, i'd much rather have handling over raw power. Either way, it is fun to drive and a good challenge.

Wow, I just ran some laps in the M3 cockpit view and no abs. That was fun! I was only half a second off my lap times.

Sorry, HUD off . Driving by the tiny gauges on the dash. I almost felt like I could brake latter and turn faster.

You can brake later without ABS. Was the first thing i noticed. The car slows down much quicker. But it is a fine line controlling it :)
 
That's cool you guys are giving abs off a try. I ran a few laps in a stock 07 M3 w/ sport hards offline last night. Used 3/1 BB. Curious what ya'll are using with your better pedals and race tires. I kept adding more resistance (sponge) to the DFGT pedal as lock up was hard to avoid. Finally was able to get it so I could feel the engagement point. Then I could modulate.

I was using 6 front 1 rear, racing hard tires and every mod in the book on my BMW M3 '07. When I was done there were a lot of black marks on the track. Lol. I had a hard time getting used to abs again. If I had tried this sooner I would run abs off tonight.

I didn't change settings on the car. I just wanted to see how it was without ABS. I believe my brake balance is at 3 - 1 and i ran it on racing hards. The G27 pedals are a bit stiffer. But they still seriously lack.

Check out this mod. $300 bucks for a pedal mod? Who in the hell would pay that?

$63 for the set of all 3 springs. There's a discount for buying more than 1.

I wish the race wasn't tonight....I have so many more things to try. :-)
 
NCR, keep me posted of you racing schedule. I'd love to jump on and compare notes on abs.

6/1 seems pretty high. Guess its just different pedals.

Heh, I hadn't intended on online racing w/o abs or hud off. There's some groups that do though. Mainly wanted to make offline a more interesting experience since Aspec career is such a yawn.

Edit: Envy, I'm just messing about offline till I can race hard w/o pain. Got a bunch of custom tracks from guys on GTP to cruise on and run hot laps. An occasional seasonal but it's difficult to even be on track with the AI. Sure miss the camaraderie-no wonder I've been posting so much!

6&1 is high, I didn't spend much time on it. I'm thinking of jumping online shortly and trying it again with a lower front setting.

Maybe when NCR gets better we can host a small league on an off night without points. Just fun and dealing with no ABS or hud!

Hi Ridox2JZGTE,

Our league is based in USA and we try to stick with USA drivers because we experience a lot of online glitches, screen tear, and drop outs if we expand to other countries. Sad but true.

BTW, I've been following your comments on the ABS off thread, very interesting.
