I mentioned the Ford Falcon XR8 V8 Supercar in GT4. Racing it around El Capitan in Arcade Mode with Racing Mediums and TCS, this thing is killer. And since you have an Australian automobile, you got to love that Australian engine roar. Its sound in GT4 is much improved from GT3. I think it actually sounds like a V8 Supercar like when I seen Australian V8 races on Speed Channel. That distinctive roar and grunt has been captured pretty well. Supercar? I'd say so. In my thread about Australian cars in GT4, I heard the JOSS Supercar mentioned. Maybe we can see that in GT5. But from what I've seen, the Australian Fords are pretty cool. The Holden machines aren't bad. The only one you have to unlock is the Commodore SS, which is usually the Ford Falcon's rival in the Australian V8 Supercar Series.

The Nike One 2022 is a pretty weird concept car. Not weird in the sense of Nike designing the sneakers you may own, the footballs you kick on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday Night, anything like that. But weird in the sense of the fact that... Nike designed something like this. After seeing a replay of my machine in action at Special Stage Route 5, I finally got to see how the heck you control this thing. To position yourself in the car, you'll have to get on this thing like some drag racing bikes I've seen in FIA Drag Racing in Europe. Those two joystick-looking things is what you use to hold on tight. The way you manuver around in it kind of makes you wonder. If it was NOT a Special Car, I wonder if that dude (who controls the car) would get real tired. Like, imagine if it did 100 laps at Tokyo R246 like in GT3. It would need a strong man to race that thing and not feel remotely tired. I'd imagine if the driver had the physique of WWE superstar Triple H, or some other hard-bodied male figure, it would take a pretty fit person to race this thing. Of course, I thought this was going to be Gran Turismo's version of "Wipeout Fusion," but unlock this thing and race it. It's a totally unreal experience.

Quickly, the 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse is actually pretty powerful and handles almost like a four-wheel drive car. When I tested the 2006 Eclipse around Hong Kong, it handled very well. There were no real issues with the car's handling. Say what you want about its looks, but mount some Sport Mediums on it, and you get a 263hp beast that's actually pretty capable and can really hold its own. Doesn't matter what color, but it looks pretty cool in VU Blue and that deep red color.

Good

I like the fact the the cars run so much more realistic, A good example of this is Need For Speed Underground, where Vauxhall Corsa's go faster than skylines!

I also like the fact the each car has different stats, a bit more in depth.

Bad

I hate **** cars which people think are cool

Cadillac Cien - This car is pish, it can go fast, and because it does people like it. It is just a **** car.

Cube cars, you all know the ones, they are like big ****ing vans with windows! really pish and slow. You know the ironing lady in everyones town, well thats what she drives! PISH!!!

Finally, all the old ****ty cars that look rusty and run like a tin can! be better if you could watch them gettin scrapped.

Kev.

Good: Amuse Carbon R- Handles like nothing I have driven yet, goes like stink with only a few mods.

Nurburgring and El Capitan- Awesome tracks, never get bored with these two.

Lancia Stratos- Not a Ferrari, but a Ferrari engined italian car. Very entertaining handling.

Bad: Ford GT- What a letdown, for 200,000cr I expected MUCH better behaviour out of a
modded supercar, this car is outclassed in almost every way by the much more affordable Mustang.

Autosave- worst. feature. ever. PD has some explaining to do...

A.I. - Other drivers are still dumb as bricks, they follow their line regardless of wether or not I am near them.

Engine sounds- these still suck, most cars sound very hoover-ish, but at least theres some depth, rather than the Cruisin USA -style sounds of GT3.

He's right..except for the engine sounds, I kinda like them...

Good- The TVR cerbera speed six, if you modify everything EXEPT the power, its the best handling car in the game.

The AMG touring car (old one), this car and the ring are a match made in heaven!!

B-Spec mode (because im lazy sometimes :) )

Bad- Ford GT

Special cars (whats the point!)

All the japanese cars and hardly any European or American cars

The lack of muscle cars is disapointing too

Most of the American cars do nothing to impress me. I don't like it when people would say they are the best kinds of cars you ever drive in.

I don't like it when people talk crap about American cars.

ive bought my share of american cars, and they dont show any greatness in em, i wasted alot of money ona saleen 7, and.......................yea its crap.

mustang svt cobra R? yea ........crap too.

im not in favor of the japos, nor euro's.

, there is just so many damn old cars, and american cars, and japanese cars, and european, that have no point in being in the game.

Good:
AMG Mercedes CLK-GTR: a beast w/ the stage 4 turbo
Formula Gran Turismo: Not really a surprise but definitely mi favorite car
Chapparal 2J: Totally killed w/ this car
Honda Beat: believe it or not this is a great lil' car especially when tuned to 140hp

Bad:
Option Stream Z: Lagggg! A major dissapointment overall
TVR Speed 12: Don't know wutz wurs, the fact that it doesnt turn or that it doesnt accelerate!
1886 Mercedes(both of them): honestly why have cars that go 6mph in this game

Hey, it's my opinion, okay? I know that every people have different tastes on what they like and what they don't.

American cars just aren't inspiring to me, plus they are somewhat overrated.

Yeah, yeah heard it all before, but I'm not going to fight with ya.

Bad surprise: Took one (real) day to clear european 1000 miles with a AC cars... and I won a creepy Alfa Romeo... sigh...
Yeah, that was kind of disappointing, but I was happy with the prize cash. I used the Shelby Cobra and that thing was a beast around Nurburgring.

Why have cars that go 6 mph in the game? It's to make you ride in history. There were no Audi R8s in 1886. Nobody knew what a muscle car was. No one knew Michael Schmacher. Honda was probably nonexistant before they began their motorcycle racing prowess and later stepping up to automobiles. Instead, the automobile was only beginning to bring about a pure revolution. So what's the point of these two vintage Mercedes-Benz machines? Driving history. It's the first step in appreciating automobiles if you want to be an automotive enthusiast. They may be slow, but at least have respect for these machines. Without them, the automobile wouldn't be as big of a phenomenon as it is today in 2005.

Another surprise car I'd like to nominate is a Honda. Sure, that would tick off the American car afficionados, but the 1968 Honda S800 Race Car is like a front-engined go-kart. It has 98hp (according to the Arcade Mode figures) and a high-revving engine. Typical of low-horsepowered cars, they lack power, but have impressive cornering ability. And this race car is very fun to take around road courses or even the tightest city streets. There is great fun to be had with this car.

Nice cars...
Mazda RX-7 Bathurst (probably a given, but still.)
BMW M3 CSL, BMW 120i (both fantastic to drive, especially the 1 Series.)
Mini Cooper S (like a little go-kart.)
Nissan 350z LE (my newest purchase, very fun.)
Lotus Carlton (bit skittish but lovely all the same.)

I know most of those are either a given or a what the? but I'm really enjoying them most.

Ultimate handling Formula GT cars
Good all rounder Honda NSX-R concept
Classic drifter Either RX7 or Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX (not the levin!)

Cars i wish i could forget:
Anything before WW2, Honda life step van (WHYY?), Citroen 2CV. Sorry lads but most USA cars do suck. Put them in a straight line they're fine, turn a corner your a goner!!

Yep, pretty much all American cars suck, bar the Dodge Viper GTS. Loving all the race cars at the moment, especially the Nissan R92CP. Mine's Skyline is also cool along with the TVR Tuscan cranked up to about 600hp. One of the best looking and hardcore cars ever.

The Toyota Tacoma X-Runner surprised me just now. Even for a truck, this thing is a good road racer. I may have used the Ford SVT Lightning in the Sport Truck races, but I wanted to buy a Tacoma in the game as a tuner car... er, truck. It may be a truck, but don't be afraid to push it to the edge. Ever since seeing the X-Runner, I thought it looked more like a sportscar than a sport truck. I guess with some tuning (I haven't yet done), it should be the sickest thing on four wheels. If I tune it, I'm even thinking about lowering the ride height, but not make it too extreme to where tire wear is more common.

fong
The NSX's in the game seem to have ridiculously high limits. As a comp, they seem to dominate the races. When driven, they do not oversteer at the limit as a rearward weight-biased car should (it is actually perfectly neutral :) ). Could this be a Japanese attepmt to boost the NSX's less than staggering sales in the US?

Aghh NO, it has more to do with the NSX actually handling like that.
The NSX has the best handling of any Japanese production car EVER.
They only had Ayrton Senna do 200 Laps of the Nurburgring for the suspension tuning.

Good:

- Nissan R31 Skyline GTS (drives very well, much better than in GT2)
- Mercedes Benz 190 EVO II (stuck to the road like glue)
- Opel Speedster turbo (very good handling, better than expected after driving the normal speedster in GT3)
- Mitsubishi FTO GPX ' 94 (superb, but then again, it already was that in GT1 and GT2)

Bad:

- MR2 AW11 Supercharger (not as competitive in std or lightly tuned form as in GT2)
- NISSAN OPTION Stream Z ( can it steer ??? is there a steeringwheel in the car at all??)
- Alpine a310 (does not feel so quick as is should when looking at the specs when fully tuned)
- The fact that most of the 80's cars can't get nice big wheel on it, why not?? IRL you can put 18" on them...
- the fact that not everycars can get new wheels
- The fact that there a car who can only do "test drive" (like that AUTO UNION V16)

I just won the Alfa Romeo Race car, completly stock on the second lap I run a 6.54.xxx, all I got to say is WOAH!

Nice sound, driving like it's on rails, 4wd, and only 420 hp, VERY fast!

Here's a surprise car:
Daimler Motor Carriage 1886

Why so? I made a new world record time for Hong Kong- 11:05.090! ;) Well, what kind of really surprised me is that not only was it one of the first four-wheeled cars, it has two gears. So perhaps the first real transmission was invented with this car, and it goes at a great top speed- 12 MPH! Hell, I walk or even run at these speeds! My acceleration is probably faster, speaking as a pretty good runner. It's not like I'm a running back playing for the University of Southern California or Auburn, but it is a pretty nice machine. It also has headlights. By the time you unlock both Daimler Patent automobiles, race them in Arcade Mode. I think that they will get you to appreciate how far the automobile has come. You don't have to like classic cars in order to appreciate this, as I primarily think that these two old Mercedes-Benz machines are there for educational purposes. How can you learn to appreciate automobiles if you cannot have any respect for machines like these?

I think someone said that all American cars were crap in the GT4 forums. Well, here's a surprise car for you- the 2005 Ford Mustang GT. The car handles surprisingly well. It can hold its own on the road course, and mated with a Racing Muffler, sounds pretty wicked. The 2005 Mustang GT is set up very well to take on all or most road courses. As the 2005 Mustangs are racing in Grand-Am Cup, this is a machine not to be taken lightly. Race it in Arcade Mode. I think you'll like it.

Yeah, you have to respect those machines; that's where it all started.

The result of putting the supercharger on the buick special was a bit of a surprise, it caned in all except one of the US series and a few others too.
I wasnt happy that you cant race all the cars you get, I bought the Caterham too and shelled out another 30k on mods only to find out I cant use the bloody thing.

Running my acceleration is probablly faster than most road cars in the world, its just I top out at 20km/h and do a 55 second quater mile.

Man that option 350z takes a bad rap. I retuned mine and i ran it in endurance races, almost all of the japanese races i could, and some of the pro races. Oh and even in special condtion races and still kicked ass in all of em.
