I'm surprised people took that comment seriously. Obviously, it would be ridiculous to ban them, but I think some of us would agree there's an oversaturation of them.

There's an over saturation in their use because their fabulous wheels, least so in the case of RPF1's and TE37's

You completely proved my point, thanks. You find nothing tasteful. You're making it seem like every car with a certain rim fits a certain (negative) stereotype. This is just like saying all Civic drivers are ricers, all lifted truck drivers have small penises, all 80s muscle car drivers are rednecks, etc.

Said comments were probably unnecessary, but I still stand on them being way too common, both in the thread and elsewhere. Yes, everyone has different tastes, but seeing a bunch of cars on coilovers and the same 4-5 wheels (especially if those are the only mods and the car kinda looks unkempt) gets old really quickly.
RPF1s and Fuchs are the main culprits I had in mind. The former you can find on every relatively modern car imaginable, and I wouldn't be surprised if their design and pricing were significant factors to this. $200 for a 9lb wheel is a pretty good deal and they're simple enough to go on almost anything without looking out of place.
Fuchs on the other hand are another phenomenon and while I admit I'm not a fan of them, I can't quite grasp how they were able to become so popular, especially given their cost. They definitely have that "like the factory" appeal, but the amount of VWs or Porsches I see with them, as well as the number of replicas is absurd. I understand that VW uses weird bolt patterns that limit the available choices of wheels for them, but it seems as if everyone just wants to play it safe and try to adopt the ideal Porsche form.
For TE37s, I honestly just felt like ragging on them after seeing them on this page. I do like them, but seeing them all the time is certainly a bore. However, I will note that their popularity has gone down in recent years, and they're not quite as dominant in the scene as they were 10 years ago.
Rotas just straight up don't belong here. I don't think knockoff/imitation wheels should be considered anything remotely close to "tasteful", even if they look mostly the same as their originals.
TL;DR: Seeing the same thing all the time gets boring, and imitation wheels are seriously uncool.

How is it any different from an Impreza WRX with those types of mods? Besides, I'm almost completely sure those parts came from the Ralliart catalog from the time (mid 1990s) and were specifically made for Mitsubishi models. It's not like they used parts from Autozone or eBay.
If you say so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. To me, it looks like a good visual representation of the year you just listed, where people just slap crap on their car and call it a day. Everything looks riced and cheaped out on.

What Mods? The tacked on Head Lamps, A bike rack(likely not, but cant really tell), Mud Flaps, and a wing that doesnt even belong to the car, nor even fits it in the first place? Or are you talking about the stickers that are just slapped in completely random ass places? Yeah, I would say that any car that makes the same attempt will look just as dumb.
