I noticed McSqueegy did a couple Family Cup races to influence his Versatility scores. I'm really liking this idea, I may borrow it as I do Heavyweight & Supercar.

all you need for quarter is well setup diff, correct tires and suspension that can deliver the power to the road, and of course, some decent power. :p no need to think about overall balance, how car will behave when weight shifts repetitively from side to side, or how the car will deal with acceleration/deceleration AND turning, or whether it's able to power out from hairy situation..
Wrong wrong wrong wrong WRRRRRROOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGGG!!!!

You most DEFINITELY have to think about overall balance of the car, how the car will behave when the weight shifts from the ballast loads that you have to put in the car to maintain traction, the perfect TCS levels, the ride heights, the VCD controller, the downforce, the gearing and MOST IMPORTANTLY, your driving skill (you think it's easy to change 7 gears within 6 sec while getting a 7.329??? :odd: ).....ALL THAT plays into what makes it a quick time. If you think it's as easy as slapping some power on, some R5's and a quick suspension change and slamming it down the 1/4 Leo, you'll be in deep water quickly, struggling to keep up with #15, let alone #1.

I don't mean to be mean or something, but you make it sound too easy. If it was that easy, having the fastest GT-R on the world wouldn't be a big deal. I would want to see the tuning garages put a GT-R as fast as mafs' on the Strip. It's much, much harder than people think.
And that's coming from someone who prefers track racing!! :sly: Thanks for the compliment C-L. 👍 The problem isn't getting it INTO my range (most people will get into the 7.40's without any trouble), but when you're going from 7.350 to 7.329, that's where all the slightest tweaks make a huge difference.
Just to let a rabbit from my hat slip regarding the GT-R concept on NOS....one interesting thing was the ballast. Just being 1Kg over meant that I lost nearly 0.500 on the 1/4!! The line to keep that car fast is such a razor's edge.

On the track, skill plays a big part to set times. Take holl01 for example. What I consider my best on a track, he could probably break that time by two or three seconds. On the quarter mile, however, driving skill doesn't matter so much (launching and shifting only, and it doesn't make much of a difference between drivers), but rather tuning skill. :)
I agree and disagree to a point. Yes tuning skill plays more of a role, but if I couldn't drive the 🤬'ing thing properly I would NEVER have got my times, let alone come close to them. :sly: So I'd look at it as 65/35 for tuning/driving skills.

Okay. Drifting 24/7's Skyline (Heavy) hasn't got the full-custom limited-slip listed as a part to buy, but he's got settings for LSD. So I'm buying it and setting it. Everyone agree?

I'd say so, I recall him purposely installing it on the one he had in the garage which I believe is exactly the same.

I appreciate the fact that RJ skipped English everyday at school so he could become better with his GT4 tuning.

Too bad it didn't work. :D:p:lol:

hey guys! since I didn't get to enter my everything this year! I putting them up in my garage, and I would like to do a spot race with everyone! I feel left out lol.

I wish everyone the best as there can only be one winner

GUESS WHAT!

Finally tested the last of the lightweights, now onto finishing those middles (not many to go, I promise!)

Scores will be up tonight

Ummm, in.s@ne, can you make it a bit more clearer as to who's ride is who's....some of them I'm having trouble making sure I've got the right scores matched with the right people. 👍

in.s@ne's scores have now been added onto the total's for lightweight, as always check the first post to see your scores add up as they progress. 👍

PF
Wow, thanks a lot mate, I'm glad you liked it.

As am I! I may have had to use someone else's entry to win the car to tune it, but my word was it worth it.

Looking forward to seeing what people can muster up for the second half of middleweight, still a very open field!

Isn't it ever, I'm salivating at the thought of three of the cars going at eachother....I'm spewing I didn't get my one in for this category. :ouch:

Ohwell, atleast Heavyweight's a bit more clear cut. Still finalising points but I've got a Top 3 (except my car, you're all just lucky I can't score it!! :p) and it's a pretty easy case of getting the 3, just finding the best of those 3 is becoming a challenge. I'm swapping car to car to give myself a different perspective incase I missed something I didn't write up.

Should have Heavyweight tomorrow. 👍

It might be delayed 24hrs RJ because I've just had to take the wife to the hospital, just arrived back 10 minutes ago....she's okay, but I'll be playing nurse Mafs for the next little bit. :yuck:

Nothing that can't go public really, it's a huge fever she's got that's all.

104.6*F in your language, or 40.3*C for people who like a metric system. :p

Congrats, in.s@ne, on getting your Lightweight portion done.

Quick question to all. VTiRoj has this language in his description for his Heavyweight car:

Notes:
Where the CSL is a lightweight with a subtle amount of power, this regular M3 took the high weight and high power approach.

So I just wanna be absolutely clear. Am I starting with an M3, or an M3 CSL? I'm pretty sure it's suppposed to be a base M3, but I just wanna be absolutely solid.
