This could be from any racing championship you follow, but what team/contructors do you miss the most? For me personally:

F1 - Honda
MotoGP - Kawasaki(suck that they pulled the plug their factory/ZX-RR program).

F1 - Jordan

NASCAR - Yates Racing

The early 2000's Minardi team.

And pretty much all the BTCC teams, 1997-2001.

For F1, I'd have to say Jordan, not really on top of things, but did well at times. I also miss Minardi, they hardly did well, but whenever they did, that one in a while, it just made you ecstatic. Also, Toyota, I think they gave up too soon, they were improving every year, and came close on more than 1 occasions last year, I think they would have won at least 1 race this year if they stayed on the boat.

I miss...Arrows, Tyrrell, Minardi, Jordan, Ligier, Benetton, Stewart in F1.
TWR in Le Mans Prototypes.

^^^Alot people seem to be missing Jordan on the grid. If anything though I wouldn't be suprised if we see the team end up been revived in some manner in the future.

Tyrell, Matra, Ligier, Prost, Hesketh, Benetton, Team Lotus, Super Aguri, and Honda in F1.

In sports cars I miss Ferrari, Matra, Rondeau, Kremer, Alpine-Renault, McLaren, Jaguar and Nissan (TWR)

In the WRC it's Peugeot, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Lancia, Toyota and of course Renault.

And Alfa and Opel/Vauxhall need to come back to all forms of Touring Cars.

The Brabham name was almost revived for this season, but most of the time I don't like to see old teams revived like that. Lotus recently were a little different but I think many such as Tyrrell and Brabham shouldn't be brought back and should be left dead. Not unless the new team could bring back any of the spirit of the old team.

I mean, its just not Tyrrell without Ken Tyrrell or Ligier without Guy Ligier. Brabham lived on a little longer thanks to having Bernie who is most certainly a colourful personality!
At least with Ferrari they still have their Italian flair, even if its tempered at the moment. And McLaren had Ron Dennis for their personality, now perhaps they are shifting with Whitmarsh. Williams still have their no-nonsense approach too.

I guess I only really like it if the "new" team can provide some kind of character, because the reason I loved those old teams was for that. I think I prefer the new team owners to use a new name though, rather than using someone else's past glories.

That's my I'm glad it's Lotus F1 Racing, not Team Lotus.

Although there is one enticing prospect for the future. Lotus and Senna teaming up again, they just need to re-spray the car yellow.

I remember reading somewhere that apparently Bruno turned down the Lotus drive precisely because he didn't want to emulate his uncle. So I could only see that happening if he had no other choice. (then again, it means he also has to avoid McLaren and Williams too).
And the car would have to be black and gold ;)
