The game has NO Manual transmittion? Geez, that's seriously a huge let down. I was really looking forward to tossing an Aston Martin around some windy roads, listening to the sound of the engine... and changing gears!.
I also can't drive without using Manual, but I'll just pretend it's another Driver game
Edit: What have taken the L2 and R2 spots then?
No one answered if you can start the cars ignition like you can on the 360 version???
I use bumper cam. Hey Chris are you online on TDU if so whats your usename and would you like to meet up? I also have the CLK DTM, AC 498 (Or something like that, you get that when you become a pro), Lambo Gallardo Spyder, Lotus Exige 240R, Mercedes SLK AMG Package and a Nardo roadster that I am renting. Gonna sell the SLK though isn't as good as I wanted it to be. Yeh I agree the island is huge it took me about 1hr to drive around the edge of it. I was also stopping off at every dealership.
Nope, I will tell you the controls if you like:
L1 + R1 : Rear View
R2: Change view
L1: View left
R1: View right
R3 + L3: Back to track
R3: Minimap zoom
Left analog: Steering
Right analog: look left/right
L2: [hold] horn/ [tap] lights
Triangle: Enter challenge or location
Square: Brake/reverse
Circle: Hand brake
START: Pause menu
SELECt: Map
Right directional key: Toggle TCS
Up directional key: Open windows
Down directional key: Radio
Left directional key: Freeride players/Close window
So there you go all the controls...now if you don't mind I am off to play TDU......![]()
After searching around on Google, it seems that the Playstation 2 version might have manual afterall.
This was a hint submitted by Atari for the Playstation 2 game:
"Using manual transmission allows you to perform better."

Plus, I can't find anywhere else online that is talking about the lack of manual transmissions. Can the people who have the game look a bit more into the options menu and stuff and try to find a setting to change to manual?

There is no manual transmission option, for sure. You can't change any controller configuration and at the buttons map none of the buttons has the ability to change gears.
