So I got the TH8 RS today, at first I set it up as a handbrake for RBR and had a blast with it (thanks for the suggestion Mayaman). Then I decided to try out the H shifter in rfactor with the PPC2007 mod.

I was using just the stock Fanatec H-shifter before, I can honestly say I had fun with it, I knew there was better out there but how much better can it be, it did the job.

After doing one lap with the TH8, I couldn't believe how much more fun the game actually is. Being able to downshift properly and just the feeling of it far surpassed my expectations of this product. I put more tension on the shifts and it just feels perfect. The quality of this shifter is top notch and I wonder why I didn't get it before. This shifter is a must buy for any sim racing fan.

Great product!

I got my interfaceone Fanatec Adapter in today. It works without a hitch. I'm using a Blackberry Mini-B USB charger as a power supply.

As for the TH8RS...I'm a bit bummed about the tension screw. I thought it would make the shifts notchier, but all it does is make it feel like my gears are gummed up with some thick oil...or am I doing something wrong?

All these talk about the interfaceone adapter makes me want to buy one except I don't have a Fanatec wheel :D

Nothing wrong with what you are doing. Unfortunately that's exactly what happens when you tighten the screw. The tighter it is, the slower your shifts will be. :(

Nice knob :sly::

Great rig until I saw the shifter

I like the CSR-H shifter as well, it's not bad and in some instances faster. But mine broke after just a month. I'm trying to figure out a way to remove the CSR H shift knob, if anybody knows please do tell.

No, those are the old shifters. CSR SHIFTERS PEOPLE! Lol

CSR shifters ARE Porsche shifters..

OK, the text is in Japanese but the pictures are pretty easy to follow. Title of this is "CSR H Shifter Redesign" and shows how to remove the shift knob on the Fanatec CSR H shifter. I just bought a new CSR H shifter and mine looks just like this one. If yours is different then perhaps if you posted a photo so we can see what yours looks like.

No reason to get snoddy just trying to help.

^^^thats it, the other videos posted were of the old plastic shifters, I don't think anybody bothered to click the links. And wasn't snoddy, hence the "LOL" at the end.

Thrustmaster sent me a placement shifter yesterday, exactly one week since they received mine. Must have shipped it as soon as they inspected the faulty one. Great support and service from Octavian. If any of you experience problems contact them, I couldn't be more pleased, the shifter actually feels better than I remember.

Does anyone know if sequential shifter plate works with gt5 yet?

Yes and no.... Yes* if you have the CSR Elite and the interfaceone mod (the sequential shifter will work in GT5).

If you do not have the above then the answer is no.

*It should work with any wheel that can utilize the interfaceone mod but I'm not sure since I only have the CSR E.

Just got a myself a T500 RS wheel and it came with a TH8 RS. So, currently I'm dual wielding the TH8 RS; manual shift and handbrake. Both using custom plates. If you are interested in these plates, let me know.

Check this out. Not 100% in place, still need to bolt down the aluminum ring but its coming together.

Added a stiffer rubber to the spring inside the handbrake, its really about perfect now. Wish I could add the "clak clak" of a real handbrake but the preassure is great. Can't have everything.

The shifter is AWESOME. I am using the short shift 6+1 I got fabricated from a friend over at GTPlanet. I then lined each gate with a rubber shim. The shifts feel almost real now. I've set the bolt on the shift stiff and loctite the thread, and with the rubber lining on the inside of the gate it feels almost right.

Now onto a couple other goodies. :)

Itrdc5 thanks for the plates!

You mean the leather boot? I have a local leather guy make them for me. $110 a pop. I've been using him for years, he makes all the leather stuff for my Porsche. Let me know if you want one, its awesome quality.

Hoodfield, I recycled the rubber grommets from my VR3 after I welded it I no longer needed them. Gone is the annoying non realistic clack sound, now the shifter gives a nice clunk and thud. Much quieter and more realistic IMO.

If you think of any ideas for an alternative source? :D Let me know, would like to copy your idea. :)
