If you're talking about the orange glow, then that's the rim.
(3rd gif is of the same bike.)

The rear brake barely has any load put on it anyways, it's more for stabilization and getting the bike pointed in the right direction.

Well it's a right hand turn, so he couldn't have been on the rear brake into the corner, plus that's power sliding the rear.

Rear brake is very small on these bikes, and that bike^ actually runs a larger rear than what's normal on a GP bike.
(Nicky Hayden uses more rear than most.)
