One-upping Delirious' post of the Luxor hotel, here's one of mine from earlier this month. The Luxor at night. I should have gone to the front and got the Sphinx statue along with the hotel.
Has anyone got any large pictures of the supercars in Abu Dhabi from Top Gear yesterday? Particularly the Mclaren and Bugatti racing together. That would be insanely awesome and cool
That’s better D, This is a cool PHOTO thread not the cool Photography thread. While your shoes photo was a well taken shot, the content wasn’t amazing to say the least.
No, not really. It's not that difficult to look at a few pages of this thread to see what we are trying to accomplish. Now if those shoes were being shot out of a cannon and into something that might explode or break, now that would make a pair of shoes cool AND amazing.
We don't have, and can't have, hard and fast rules over what constitutes an amazing or cool picture so, basically, if someone thinks it's cool, then it is cool, and can be posted here.
I contribute quite a lot to this thread and I like to keep a good balance of both, although a good photograph will sell its subject far better than an interesting object poorly shot. I've come across tons of the latter, and normally search Flickr for the same subject for a better interpretation of it. The first shots that come to mind of that sweet balance of medium and message are the fast-action parrot shoot and the wave photographs I put up recently.
