He didn't DL off trading paints.
Nevertheless, great video magz

Yeah I know that's usually the case but all the other guys paint schemes were showing up so I figured he downloaded them all. Was just weird to see everyone's paint and not mine. My paint job was the 2nd or 3rd one ever uploaded so if you download all of them you will defiantly get mine lol. Cool video just kinda sucks to not see my paint job haha.

It was a fun race all together. Had some good clean battles with Mark so that was fun. Pretty good turn out maybe we will have a few more next week. Where are the points going to be posted at?

Thanks.. but im not sure what you mean. How come it worked for others? And i have never downloaded off trading paints, just uploaded.

Now that I go back and look at the vid I don't see any custom paints. In order to see everyone's custom paints you need to download the cadillac list. It puts other peoples paint files on your pc so you can see everyone's paint job.

That requires downloading the trading paints desktop program that semi-works (the window doesn't expand all the way for me for some reason)

But it's nothing to worry about, you did an excellent job finding battles and recording and editing the video

Yeah the video is still awesome. Just cool to see the customs paints people have put time into. Just get the trading paints desktop program and you can have it setup to automatically download paints from whatever car you choose when you open the program or when you start your computer. You can also do it all manually if you want. I don't think the desktop window expands all the way.

edit: I decided to move the my trading paints question to the paint schemes thread before it became too off topic
edit 2: MadRR, I fixed it, check the paint schemes thread

Other than the fact there were all these other guys on the track with faster cars (:grumpy:), I had a really great and really exhausting time. I don't think I took a breath until the first time down the back stretch.

The rest of the race was spent mostly alone (other than the little green men going passed me). It was mostly like a trip to the childrens playground for me - lots of time in the sandpit, a few visits to the merry-go-round and one exciting go on the bumper cars. Pity there were no swings in the playground that could have been really interesting.

Many tanks to Jav for the organisation of it all and congratulations to Joshua "Yoda" Stretch.

Finally apologies to Simon for being such as rubbish team mate! I promise to practice more next time (won't be any quicker, but I might stay on he track)...

I can't recall, do we get one dropped round?

We should go through the OP and tidy up the rules and information before next weekend.
Are we still doing teams?

I've only heard a little bit about tradingpaints so I'm going to have to look into it. 💡

Btw, thanks to Jav for hosting.

That was great fun! 👍

Really enjoyed the racing. Learnt a bit more about the car and achieved a personal best (in qualifying) :) If only I could stop spinning out randomly!

Thanks to Jav for hosting and thanks to Mark for the setup he shared earlier in the day. Congrats to Josh on the win! 👍

Richard, no need to apologise mate; it's all for ****s 'n' giggles as far as I'm concerned

Nice video Magz, I can make the next one, if you don't feel like doing it. I'm happy for my result, I finished close to top 5 and could have finished better if I knew how to add fuel before the race. Props to Jav for organising this series and congratulations to Josh for the win.

So how is this scored? Do we get points or something? I tried looking in iRacing's website but truth to be told this is the first time I've joined a tournament hosted session.

Wil definitely do.

Our points system is under the drivers list on the 3rd post.

Where will the overall point standings be listed at? Somewhere in the first couple post I'm assuming? Are we going to stick with the original race times with the room opening at 20 gmt for practice?

not looking forward to Laguna i hate anti clockwise tracks except ovals, think i'll do well if i even finish this race:grumpy:

Yes sir, the standings will be posted. As for the starting time I think 20GMT worked pretty well so I think we should stick with that. What do you guys think?

Yeah I think we should stick with that time. Any earlier and it would be hard for me to make the races.

I also agree that this time is good.

Finishes around the 23.00 time here, so it's. It too late for a work night!

I also hate Laguna Seca, it's that corkscrew. However I've picked up a little trick from the forums on how to navigate it easily. My game plan for the next race will be to take it very easy and try not to hit my best/optimal all the time. Ok, I'll finish even further behind than the -6 laps of the last race but hopefully will stay on track more and not use my 2 fast tows right after each other then have a 7 minute pit stop for repairs!

I think the corkscrew will be the deciding factor in the race.

Corkscrew isn't bad as long as you're semi-careful, just keep a lookout for turn 1 and the last turn before the S/F line.

Could you post the time in various time zones? for us time zoned challenged. For example when Los Angles plays Phoenix tomorrow night Hockey Night in Canada post the time like this ...

5:00 EST
6:00 CST
7:00 MST
8:00 PST

If you tell me it is a 20:00 GMT I have no idea. Time was never at the top of my list, :D I have always gone to work when I wanted and stopped when I wanted.

Although my kids use to get quite pissed off at me when they had to wait a school for several hours. :D

Time table here
http://www.scc-ares-races.org/utcchart.html
The U.S. is in DST with exception to Arizona, so U.S. people need to look for, PDT, MDT, CDT, and EDT

Also here, http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc
Alberta looks to be MDT which is 2:00 PM @ 20:00 GMT

The reason we use GMT is because every time zone is based off the GMT which is based on the Prime Meridian. For you, MST is GMT -7, or during daylight savings time MDT is GMT -6 that means you go back 6 hrs from 20:00 GMT, so 14:00 MDT (2 PM)

I hope that helped 👍

Oh come on, left. Roush provided a very thorough and easy to follow explanation. 👍

(left888's_local_time) = (GMT_time) - (12 hours) - (6 hours)

Example:
2:00pm MDT = (20:00 GMT) - (12 hours) - (6 hours)

Explantion:
1) Your are given a time in GMT. (Note that GMT times are based on a 24 hour clock, not a 12 hour clock.)
20:00 GMT

2) Subtract 12 hours from the GMT time to convert the GMT time from a 24 hour clock to a 12 hour clock.
20:00 GMT - 12 hours = 8:00pm GMT

3) Subtract 6 hours from the 12 hour clock GMT time to find the equivalent time in your time zone.
8:00pm GMT - 6 hours = 2:00pm (left888's local time)

Just to add; as we (the UK) are now in British Summer Time (BST), you need to add 1 hour to the GMT times!

Basically, you're 7 hours behind us Darren :)

Sorry to keep this going, but, does everybody else around the world change there timezones too? As the time goes forward the worst case scenario is that you arrive an hour earlier!

Amazing how we got 35 entrants and only 12 people actually showed up.

Hopefully the next race will get more participants! I'll be missing from race 3 and 4, probably the 2 tracks I know the most!

I stayed up till 5:30 am trying to ascertain the time of the race, I did try. :banghead:

What happened by the way :/ ? I remember clearly that I didn't know the time of the race either, and when I was here on the forums trying to find out, I saw you were online too and posting in this topic. A few minutes later the race time was posted with 2 hours notice.
