What happened by the way :/ ? I remember clearly that I didn't know the time of the race either, and when I was here on the forums trying to find out, I saw you were online too and posting in this topic. A few minutes later the race time was posted with 2 hours notice.

Well as I mentioned, it was 5:30 a.m. and I was so very tired. At my age staying up all night really wears me out. I headed for the sack.

Official race and practice times updated on post 3.

Thanks Jav, Simon has offered to "text" me, so hopefully I'll be rested and ready.

Amazing how we got 35 entrants and only 12 people actually showed up.

As soon as the dates and times where posted I knew I would be out. Work hours and vacation in June knocked me out for all but the final race. Well except for the first race. I laid out of work for feeling too good. But forgot about the series. Oh well, just one less hazard for y'all speed demons to worry about.

Okay then :)

GTP: vipex121
iRacing: Sean Williams3
Number: 29
Team Name: Team Vires
Time zone: BST (GMT+1)

Thanks :)

Also i have a question. Im rediculous with Photoshop so is anyone able to create a basic skin with my team's logo slapped on somewhere? We are currently on the move from LFS to iR and i dyre need of a first skin here.

Regards.

what happened to Eric and Swiftwilly? I'm all for getting as many people back so we can have bigger races, and they used to post commonly and eric did about 3 setups for Okayama

A lot of guys signed up at first not knowing if they would be able to make the races due to time and day since then we didn't have it set. Also sign ups started a couple weeks before the car came out and we started a couple weeks after the new iracing season started so they might have had an effect on turnout. Few guys also got the times mixed up for the first race.

The turn out was about what I expected honestly. I've ran my SBK bike league on PS3 going on 2 years now and I've raced in a few other ps3 leagues as well as a couple leagues on iracing, one for over 6 months every week. When it comes to league racing only half the people that sign up end up actually showing up to race. It's been like that in my league and every ps3 and iracing league I've ever raced in. In the last oval league I ran in The RCRL there were races we would have 30-35 people racing, but at the same time there were right around 80 people signed up in total. With having 35 or so signed up here for our league I figured it would be around 15 people or so showing up to race. Especially since we are giving away a button box. Usually the most people show up for the first round and start to drop off. Hopefully that won't be the case here and we will just get more.

I had to work. And I have an autocross this Sunday. The timeslot doesn't really work well for me. The league I race in every other saturday has the race start at 6:20pm my time, and usually I don't work any later than 6, so I get home just in time to get a couple qualifying laps in and go race.

Just to add; as we (the UK) are now in British Summer Time (BST), you need to add 1 hour to the GMT times!

Basically, you're 7 hours behind us Darren :)

False. UTC/GMT NEVER changes. Darren is still 6 hours behind GMT. Your time zone changed, not UTC/GMT time.

Darren's curent time zone is MDT: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=1102
MDT = (UTC/GMT) - (6 hours)

the_greeze's current time zone is BST (British Summer Time): http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=136
BST = (UTC/GMT) + (1 hour)

When did I state UTC/GMT changes? I didn't. You've just validated my point! :)

You're correct; Darren is indeed 6 hours behind GMT and as I said, add another hour on to it 'cos we're now in BST.

Let's just say my iPhone 'world clock' app puts Calgary 7 hours behind the UK...

Yes Calgary and I are on the same time zone, which is now MDT. In October we switch to MST

***Edit***

I think it's now early November when we switch.

***Edit 2***

So help me out here, if the race is at 20:00 GMT do I just subtract 6 hours then. 20-6=14:00?

You told Darren to add one hour to the GMT times. That is false. No one has to add one hour to GMT times except you and anyone else living in the BST time zone.

The start time is 20:00 GMT.

For Darren to see the start time in his local time he must do the following:
MDT = UTC/GMT - 6 hours.

For the_greeze to see the start time in his local time he must do the following:
BST = UTC/GMT + 1 hour.

No one outside your time zone (including Darren) cares what the UTC/GMT offset of your time zone is. This is my last comment in this thread regarding time zones. It takes five minutes of googling to figure this stuff out.

Exactly.

No big deal. The main thing is making sure no one misses the race because of time conversion issues. 👍

Is that a real thing or are you making a joke. :dunce:

:lol: Just making a joke, man. 👍

I think this whole timezone discussion has reached its purpose.

Practice is up, sweet. Coming, Jav.

Found a some very good setups on the forums, gonna be sharing them on every session!

Too bad I just found this thread now, though I don't think I'd be able to participate anyway. Are you guys making videos of the races? I'd like to watch.

If you share a setup in a room will it show up for people coming in later? I'm going to get in the practice room in a little bit. I think it just shows up for the people that were in the room when it was shared.

Yes sir! Should be there when you come in, if not let me know and I'll send it to you!

There was a video from the first race made by Magzire, and I can make videos for the next races.

If you're talking about the car getting squirelly under braking, try lowering rear rebound to about 8 or 10, it keeps the rears planted better

Not the squirrely braking. The tuning gods have sorted that out for me. I mean when the sparks fly because the bottom of the car contacts the road surface.

I think I was running with too much fuel. I shaved a bunch of fuel off and that seems to have helped. Thanks though.
The setups I'm using have the max fuel load and I always forget to change it after switching. Once I drop the fuel to what is needed for the race distance it's like I was training for a marathon with leg waits; the car feels like an elise to me after dumping 30 L of fuel lol.

What kind of times were being run in the practice session? With race fuel I was running in the high 23's. Not sure how much I'll be able to improve on that. I think 23.5 will be the fastest I'll be able to pull out.
