just ran a few laps at Sumit Point seem to hold a lot of grip a this track, was runnin 11s wiv race fuel and 09s on low fuel, I think theres guna be some really quick times on this track cause theres lots of places to make up time IMO but i could be wrong about that. looks like a hard track to over take on but i cant be sure as ive never done any series racing here before but still looking foward to racing there.

I'm looking forward to racing here as well. I've only raced here about 2 times or so before. I have been on Summit in real life though. It's one of the 2 tracks in iracing I've been on. I road raced motorcycles for a couple years and Summit was one tracks I went to along with Virgina International (VIR) that's on iracing. I only did a trackday there and it got rained out at lunch so only got a couple sessions. Don't think it will help me too much though since bike and cars lines are different. It was pretty cool the first day I got iracing running on tracks I've been on in real life.

I did just 5 or 6 laps earlier just to see what the car felt like. I did a low 1:10 on race fuel in a lap or two so I'm sure the times will get lower than that. I think the racing will be interesting since there is no where really to pass especially with these cars being kinda big. I'm sure we will see some door banging!

This is one I just want to make it out of on track (rather than massive pit time) I'm not lookin for anything higher than last

Yes sir! Welcome to the series!
Will there be a practice tonight? I can host a 2 hour practice from 8pm-10pm eastern time if not.

Today and Saturday! 6hr practice session starting at 20:00 GMT/4:00 US EST, password: narrow

I'll be there! I haven't much experience with this track... Would love to see my name fixed on the leaderboards too... :nervous:

Pretty happy with that result, haven't been driving or tuning the Cadillac in a while. So I started out with my Lime Rock Park tune and made some small changes. And I was constantly going for hotlaps, so that's why there are a 89 incidents.

I won't make it saturday either, the Le May museum car show debut is saturday, if it comes sunday and I feel that I'm a hazard, I'll be a no show

Jav
Yes sir! Welcome to the series!

Thx!

Are you guys running with open or fixed setup? It would be great if someone could share a setup with me as I'm a "setup analphabeta" :)

We run open setups. Jav posted a few setups in one file a page or two back if you want to give those a try.

Sorry for saying this so late, but I couldn't make it to the last race because I hadn't practiced at all, as I had a very full week. But I will show up on sunday for Summit Point.

Thank you, I hope now I'll have a bit more time to read the full thread, and give the setups a try.

How much fuel will be needed for this race at Summit? I did 1:11 with enough fuel for 39 laps, is that enough fuel?

I'm going to go with what I used at okayama which was 19 gallons. The race is 5 minutes shorter, but it's going to be right many laps since the track is so short.

thanks Jason, I think I had around 15.5 gallons.

No problem. Depending on what setup your using you will probably have to raise the rear to pass tech once you put the extra fuel in. I had mine at 17 and it passed, but I put in 2 extra gallons to be safe and it didn't pass so I had to raise the rear. I went up 1 psi in each rear tire to get it to pass. I haven't tried driving it since so I hope it handles the same. I'll see tomorrow lol. My only concern with the extra pound of pressure is the rear end getting less stable once the tires heat up.

Jav im gonna pass on this race.. have little experience on this track and i'd be a complete hazard.

I'm still undecided, I may join practice and leave before quali

Guys, I've decided I will leave this competition, as I don't have enough time during the week to practice and the weekends are full. Good luck on the next races guys, and I may join if there's a season 2.

Guys, I'm hosting another practice session, open now. Details below:

Session Name: GTPlanet Cadillac Cup - Open Practice
Password: the_greeze
Max Racers: 40
Duration: 4 hours

Server is up now, I'll be dropping in and out of the session 👍

Gents

I've got to miss this week. Lots of family round our place for the Jubilee. Hopefully the stuff earlier in the thread about being able to drop a race holds good. I wouldn't want to spoil my near perfect record...

May I ask when will the race starts (in GMT) ? Thank you

20:00 gmt

Roush, are you sure? Didn't the room open at 20:00GMT last race? There was then 50 minutes of practice and 15 minutes of qualifying before the race started (if I recall correctly).

It's hard to tell from the OP alone when the race starts. Under the Rules section it says this:
-All racers must be on track on time for qualifying at 20:00GMT.
-Qualifying format will be 15 minute of "free qualifying".

Then under the Tracks section it says this for Summit Point:
6/3/2012 - Practice 50 minutes. qualifying 15 minutes. Race 40 minutes.

That would mean the race starts at 21:05 GMT, right?

Oh yeah, I just clump it all together and call it a race, but anyway I believe you have to show for quali in order to race
