what i want to see is dirt kickup. not dust, but dirt that gets kicked up then falls right back down. but of course i want smoke to be there too.
they probably will increase the smoke effect. especially if drifting is gonna be a part of the game.
Its very hard to make smoke, take alot of peformance..even good PC´s can have problems with "smoke effect". Example NFSU when you make burnout, i use "normal" graphic setting and even then it will lag a bit. ( i dont have a poor computer)
Anyway it also depends on the 3D-engine of the game, so lets just hope..but im sure they will not make it much better.
if the ps2 cant handle thick volumetric smoke, then they should crank out more of the current effect to compensate for burnouts. It would look better than the little puff that springs up currently.

If the Nascar games can have smoke then it seems like GT4 would be able to do it too. There is a LOT of smoke in the Nascar games. They get kinda boring to me but just burning the tires and doing donuts creats so much smoke you cant see thru it when you come back around the track. I can get pics tonight if anyone wants them. Or even video.
edit: Oh by the way, those pics at the top are beautiful!
Fellas, i think i figured it out. In that pic of the Chevelle at the strip, its not smokin the tires, thats just the exhaust smoke. The tire smoke's gotta be better than that!

How many threads do we need about tyre smoke, theres already more than we need without this one. Smoke isn't the most important part of GT4, if it slows the framerate down I'd rather they kept it as it is.

i think it's okay, too much smoke would cause some gt4 players to complain..
i duno. i don't really care about smokes, i just want the game.
Well maybe PD is tweaking that right now. 💡
