A nice tiny little detail i noticed today doing the summit racing through one of the events at 200+mph you pass over many bridges mostly nothing changed until one was a little closer to the ocean and you got to hear some waves and a little bit of spray appeared on the windscreen and was quickly blasted away 😎Sure have come a long way from...

A nice tiny little detail that I noticed today was the "Register a car for custom show" challenge not working..... again... 🙄

Been a minute since I jumped in Motorfest, but have the MX and RR Bike Offroad races always been hard to win even on the lower difficulties? Currently finished those disciplines in Off-Road Addict Custom Mode, and I was struggling on my normal difficulty (3).

Yeh they do seem a bit more difficult if they get a lead it seems impossible to catch unless there's some cuts to be used

I noticed since season 7 (it could be earlier) that Off-road AI is way faster (difficult) and to beat 5/5 you need like top 100 times. Like I can beat 5/5 MX on asphalt but struggling a lot on 4/5 when on dirt.

A new car next week and it's all about it. Like literally everything is about one car only. 😅

Hmmm I wonder what the Porsche will look like rofl... Gotta say the focus on hypercars has made for really good gameplay these last few weeks.

The Wasp edition is the main stage car this month, for anyone that missed it in the TC2 Summit.

On the other hand, I'm already tired of Season 7.
I'm constantly being need for expensive cars every week challenges, many of which I'm not interested in. (Well, that's what's causing me to grind every week...)
I still remember many people complaining about Redbull, but TCM's season system lasts for several months, so I've recently come to feel that we should avoid themes that tend to favor specific car categories, brands, or price ranges within a single season.

The biggest news this week isn't about The Crew Motorsport, nor is it about The Crew 2...
It's about The Crew (1)!!!
Resurrection occurs on 15th September, as confirmed at the website below:

Less than 2 weeks to go [if you have an existing PC copy which I don’t have...]

No need to starve the summits of players with prices I agree. Thankfully the grind is reduced though, they've mitigated by offering more main stage awards (just done 3 feats and the first summit event got 90Kcr in bonuses). I think for summits they could offer rentals with which you could swap parts onto... the desire to own them would be the same as you would still need them for the main game. Would be nice to try cars before you buy them, there's a couple of hypercar turkeys and they're eye watering prices.

Wait, they only allow people who had the game on steam or Ubisoft connect before to play it on their servers? Thankfully I have the game, but what about those who can't obtain it?

I'm kind of surprised about all the lets revive a game that was on life support for years before Ivory decided to pull the plug.
On the other hand I'm glad they managed to make it work. But I still doubt it's going to bring players back.
And while I'm aware Summits are impossible to bring back I hope they will manage to bring back factions. Calling all units PvP would be awesome too, but factions are really important imo.
Without PvP it's just TC2 with offline mode without boats and planes.

Edit:
I just can't drive the Carrera GT Ahead ed. and it's so frustrating. 😭

That includes me but I can understand why. To do anything else (especially any download of the game files) would be likely to end up with a DMCA as it would be piracy.

In answer to @strela a lot of people would like to cruise in TC1 as it has better graphics than TC2 which were downgraded due to the addition of planes.

I hope there are a lot now... because there was none a year back.

I remember the cool snow in the mountains etc but the fps made me feel sick after a short session i had to stop playing but that was on ps4 maybe pc was better back then.

I thought even people who bought the game on Steam had it removed from their library and uninstalled from their PC? I saw a video that said very few people have the game files because of this.

I don't have a PC but I've seen pictures of the game still included in people's library on Steam.

In other news, I was 130th in Custom Show last week with 11 hearts including 1 purchase (I had the Atlantic up with the golden stripes tyres as the only addition which is my standard approach [it means players dont have to buy anything else with CC if they want the tyres])...
smug top gear GIF

(But don't own any cars currently for this week's Custom Show so I've had to spend 1.3m for the GT Ahead edition Porsche)

Iam loving it with a nitro chemist set and about 12% iron grip. The Carrera is a delight, it dances amazing through the puddles. I find it needs micro lifts on the throttle pulsed nitrous or it breaks grip with enthusiasm, its peppered with puddles too this summit to make it more interesting. The challenge is steeper without the parts for sure, needed some first cup of coffee in the morning hyper focus for those... Ive enjoyed this summit.

Hmm, I was under the impression that iron grip only is active when you are doing races with pit stops and then it reduces grip loss from tire wear? In this summit there are no races with pit stops and the iron grip modifier would not help with the Carrera handling?

Its a seperate modifier in both parts and legend points, useful in the bottom 3 races of the summit. Also useful in custom race mode / on the race track tyre wear races so i know where you're coming from. Iron grip is quite useful with hypercars you can swap the parts modifiers about easily to get it (some of the Bug's and Keg's are far too buckeroo without it).

Cool, thank you for the explanation, I had almost ruled iron grip out as useless but now I have to give it a try. :)

I just did maybe 5 or 6 runs of the leftmost event on the 2nd row of the summit, switching back and forth between two nitro chemist sets:
1. 35% Pure, 35% Extra Pump
2. 5% Pure, 35% Extra Pump, 42% Iron Grip

I couldn't tell any subjective difference between the handling of the car, and my best time with set 1 was 3 seconds quicker than my best time with set 2. It did show that learning the track is the biggest factor, as the 5 or 6 attempts took my time from 2:29 to 2:22, 217th on the leaderboard.

I noticed a big difference with the carerra top 3 races that had fairplay (does that cancel legend point perks too?) no parts compared to the second row with tidy parts. Its interesting the times are close with 30% less pure (perhaps a sweet spot in the middle). The strategy this week is iron grip for the twisty courses with a smidge of brake harvesting I only use 12% Iron grip though and then an alternate set with all pure extra pump / smidge of frenetic for the straighter highway tracks. Thanks to the merge gimmick Ive got tons of nitrous sets built up with different aspects to them. I think the only time iron grip really shows up in an obvious way is with rally / rally raid as you can get better traction.

Right, that makes a difference because the loan vehicles don't have your pro settings or tyres. For cars with wide body parts, the difference is even bigger.

Some of the vanity tires also help with handling.

I should mess with the pro settings a bit more... im usually tinkering more in the photo menu though lol. Are you enjoying the hypercars theme?

Next week, the Summit is a free week (woohoo!) due to it being the 2nd anniversary and all the events setup for the special edition car. So, I imagine the Summit will be busier and more competitive than most.

As there's a free week, I might pick up the Elite Bundle next week. And as I don't need any cars bought in TC2 for TCM transfer, I can use the week to build up some cash in TC2 too. I've never managed to carry more than 1m in bucks in TC2 because of having to buy cars for two different Summits (TC2 and TCM), so it will make a nice change!

I ran the (rather short) 911 Playlist today to unlock the Custom Show event for the Main Stage challenge and as it has 50% XP bonus this week.

I still have a few playlists left to complete which I'm working through about one a month - no need to rush.

I thought iron grip only matters for races with tyre wear enabled 🤔

Easy one take off the legend points off iron grip and go for a drive around the island before and after with the same car, im sure its global for free roam, in custom mode, and in the parts races in summits. It is a prime benefit for the tyre wear races, and for me makes cornering on loose surfaces tidier.

Yeah defo putting the iron grip legend back on... but it would be a drifting benefit to switch the legend points off.
