Did you make the very next post after mine, containing anything that I'd just said not to do?
If so, yes. If not, no.
Ah right. Sorry it wasnt me then

Amen to that... 👍I am extremely disappointed right now. For a couple of things. One being the damage. It's crap. Complete and utter ****. The hood stays intact with the car even though you're going up to speeds which in "real" life would eventually snap out. How the **** am I suppose to drive with that hood blocking my view on the road? I don't give a flying **** if it's a demo. That **** is unacceptable. Especially when it was out to the ****ing public.
For Christ, for FREAKING God's sake, Rockstar finished GTA IV a year before GT5 was out or even had a release date and the damage on the vehicles is WAY better than that garbage on GT5. Don't ask me why I mentioned IV, I know they're two different games, but we all know GTA IV has a lot of content (meaning it takes a while to finish the product) and it does include cars. I mean hell, I would understand if this was shown after a year of development but for the love of God, it's been 5 years.
Worst part, not all cars have damage. Why? Why the **** not? Is it because the dealers don't want their precious cars looking crushed? Oh well, they don't have to worry, it won't be possible in GT5, or at least the demo.
Listen guys, I'm going to buy the game. I'm as big of a Gran Turismo fan as the next guy. Or maybe even more. Hell, if you don't believe me look at my sig. I mean, besides the damage, the game looks great. The tracks look nice, the environment looks awesome. The Subaru's interior looks fantastic. I just wish the damage was given a little (a lot) more effort.
The only thing I'm telling myself is, well, I'm actually wishing, that the demo shown at GamesCom was an earlier version of GT5 which the damage wasn't fully complete. (Or should I say nearly)
Also, no Porsche? ...
I agree with you aswell. I rather them scrap the damage and focus on car engine sounds, get the Holden Monaro sounding like a true V8.
I hope they have a good excuse for limiting damage.

No, you obviously don't get it.The problem with damage here is, PD made a very dumb decision trying to model every car in the ****ing world therefor it backfired on them, meaning things like damage lacking high quality. They could have had more time to spend creating damage models for all the vehicles.
The Sony rep confirmed that you can write a car off and be taken out of the race.
And I understand that the most recent TOCA's and GRID's can total your car.
Which has what to do with the case at hand?

I know you have only been here about a month and you probably haven't looked around the GT4 area very deeply, but some people did get all the cars. Some people do see it as a Pokemon-like challenge. In fact, some people have gone as far as to take the 1800s cars around the Nurburgring, just to see how long it can take, and even made it into a competition.Seriously, what are the chances of you owning all 1000 cars? Sure, we all love lots of cars, and it does reach out to everyone's taste for rides, but come on. There was a lot (see how easy that was?) of cars in GT4 that I didn't give a rat's ass about because for one, I had better faster cars, and two they were slow and completely useless to me. (Unless you're the kind of person who likes to go, "Hey I'm going to take my car that I own in real-life for a spin!" 500 should be max.
Quick note to all you fairly new guys on the site:
If you are finding words in your posts replaced by asterisks (***) then not only did you attempt to do something in violation of the site rules, but it was bad enough that the owner (Jordan) put a filter in place to prevent you from being able to even get it out.
If you actually expect to hang around here at least until the game is out I suggest you be careful with your language.

And yes, some people enjoy taking the game's version of their real life car (because they actually like their car) and driving it on edge, in a way they would never do in real life, on tracks they may never have the opportunity to see. And some of us have found that a race between cars with less than 200hp can actually be more difficult and intense than any supercar race. You may find racing something like Jettas head to head boring, but even in real life people enjoy it.
I know there's a chance that you do not care what others want from the game, but there is the fact that the creator of the game, Kazunori Yamauchi, has been quoted, as far back as GT2, as saying that he wants Gran Turismo to be like an encyclopedia of cars. If that is not what you want in your racing game then perhaps you shouldn't buy it as your vision and his do not match. It likely means that you are not his target audience. And why even bother with 500 cars when you can get something like Supercar Challenge that just skips straight to the "better faster cars?"
I never got 100% because I kept getting distracted by a car I would race against, and would then go buy it, tune it, and hot lap it for hours on end.I agree with you there. It is a challenge to get all the cars. I sadly never finished GT4 100% due to time restraints at that junction in my life. And I also agree that its sometimes more fun and challenging to race the weaker cars. My favorite races were the 200hp MR classes.

After a few solid shunts our car was struggling to get over 140kph, so we'd clearly caused technical damage too. A Sony rep also told us that crashing too much could result in terminal damage ending our race early
I'm sure those who are worried about paying out the wazoo for damages on 4.5 million credit vehicles can earn much more credits from races and championships in GT5 than in past iterations.
What makes you say that? I mean, I hope that is not the case. I actually like struggling to buy upgrades, as it lets you get more "connected" with you cars.
