Really enjoying this Senna package, one it's free when to be honest, most of us would've paid a few £/$/€ for it. Two, it's just so much fun to drive these 3 vehicles :)
Imagine if PD did GT:Historic? ;)

I would be almost a bit happier if it was paid DLC then those who wanted the content could pay a couple of £ for it while those of us who aren't Senna fans and have no desire to sit through a 1G+ download and install can carry on as normal.

I feel now all PD needs to do is bring out Intelagos and the Senna Kart track as "paid" DLC with some of the money going to the Senna Institute and that would make my day. Maybe add the '88 F1 if they can do something about the legal issues.

Maybe add a base model F3 in with it and I'd be willing to "make a donation"

I definitely think a paid DLC with some sort of Senna Institute donation should be done by PD. The Senna brand surely deserves our help based on the enjoyment I and many others have had from this.

Simply awesome update. big well done to PD.

Have just been taking the 97T around Spa in an online free run room with several other 97Ts on track. Was having so much fun that before I knew it, I had done a whole Grand Prix's worth of laps with 2 full refuels and 3 stops for new tires.

I was driving it with all aids and ABS off, though on RS tires, and with mid-low aero, it felt great to drive. Best lap was a 1:45.1xx, tire wear on, grip on real.

I still can't decide whether it's best to run low, mid or high aero. The other guys seemed to be running full downforce as they were able to brake later and they could turn in very quickly, but they were left in the dust during any straight section.

Driving the 97T around the Nordschleife in full stick-shift manual, stock aero, all aids off (ABS as well) on Racing Hards was tricky for me to handle at first, but I eventually got used to it after a few tries, particularly braking. The turbo power is just addicting out of the corners and the car demands proper concentration.

The Ralt on RH tyres and all aids off, is a sweet little thing to drive, due to the manageable power, meaning I can push it that bit harder.

Are you on dial up or something? It took almost no time to download that update, it did take a little bit longer to install, but the download was fast. I'm sure there were players who didn't know about Ayrton before this tribute, now they know.

Complaining about receiving an update that's too big? Seems a little trivial when it appears your internet connection speed is to blame. You should be happy you got something and it was free, and most of all it was pretty amazing.

To be fair, internet isn't fast everywhere.

Are you in a rural area with no broadband? Were you downloading right when it launched along with everyone else at the same time?
I'm in Venezuela. Internet here is kinda slow.

Well, that's a whole other ball game. If the entire country's internet structure is lagging behind and you don't have any other options, it sucks. That still isn't PD's fault, and shouldn't limit update size due to that fact.

Indeed. Although I wasn't arguing that he had the right to be angry at PD.

That is true, but at that point it's still not PD's fault because a user lives in an area with slow internet.

No, my net is fairly decent topping out around 2Mps but I still would rather skip the install and download and just get playing. Not everyone is a Senna fan, not everyone is interested in the Senna content. I'm not blaming PD for anything merely stating that I feel that large add-ons like this should be optional.

I'm a bit of an f1 anorak so respect to whoever included the option to create different livery and aero specs for the 97t. Along with the fantastic sound I'd be really keen to see PD take on a classic f1 game.

I don't suppose you'd be willing to try piece together which races in the 85 season the different liveries and aero options were used at. I tried to last night but it's a pretty difficult task.

Senna content is part of the game, so why should it be optional? Each patch also "fixes" bugs or errors, so by no means should they be optional. Also, are you talking megabytes or megabits? There's a big difference, I'm not familiar with "mps" as a unit of measure for download speed. I wish that the patches installed faster too, but I'm sure there's a reason PD did it the way it's done. The whole process for me took 30 minutes, including download (3 hours after going live) and 2 installation sequences. Definitely not a big deal.

I'm sorry if I made you feel like I was implying that you're arguing for him, I know you're not and you're raising valid points about internet speeds. I got the idea he was complaining about the way PD does things from his post, not yours, so I apologize if I gave you that impression.

Downloaded it last night finally. Haven't gotten around to digging into the content yet. I'll admit, I've certainly done my share of PD-bashing, but I give praise where it's due. From what I've read already, Kaz and Co. have done a great job with this content. I'm glad to hear that and looking forward to giving those cars some seat time!

See PD, you can do it!
Just proves they could do the sounds and it isn't a memory issue.
The option for different wings/winglets and livery is a nice touch.

A very well deserved thumbs up from me 👍👍
Great job Polyphony Digital.

PS, See, we don't whine all the time for no reason, all it took was some good content.
Who'd have thought it:sly:

Driving the F3 made me realize two things.
1: F3 cars are the best thing since sliced bread.
2: I'm terrible at Brands Hatch.

I'm really dreading the 97T race there, because I didn't get to try it last night, but Monza was pretty easy.
80's Monza > Modern Monza.

I just drove the Lotus around the Ring..

I can promise you, just like they said about Senna, I felt like a man possessed. The car is unbelievably fast. The shifting, the rumbling.. truly an amazing experience. It was beautiful.

Thank you PD, and thank you Ayrton.
It's funny you mention the Ring and the Lotus since I'm hot lapping it there now, no traction, just abs 1, and I'm lapping the Nordschleife in the 5:20's…balls of steel required to drive it though IRL…

I am really enjoying it, did the first two challenges last night, have yet to do the final.
These events are perfect for my skill level, took about 30 min to gold cart, with most of the time spent shaving off that last 0.2 sec to get gold(and that second bus stop chicane they made that doesn't show one the map, that got me a few times at first before I figures it out ).
Same for the Renault but that one took me closer to an hour. (Probably because I tend to overdrive the cars at first to find their limits for a while, then I start clean conservative laps that bronze and work my way up.)
These cars and challenges are very addicting, I think partly because the cars are so easy to feel/control at top speeds, so even when you wipeout you feel like next go round you can easily get it right. Then when I finally get gold I feel like I really earned it. Not too easy and not frustratingly hard. And it's very rewarding to finally find that optimal brake point/ approach/exit that gives you the faster/fastest speed through the corner!

OT but the Mitsu VGT seasonal was just as much fun as well, that track is always so much fun with the right cars.

In general I have to say PD's choices of matching cars and tracks for seasonals/special challenges so far in GT6 has been really good.

👍

Around a year ago I watched the 'Senna' documentary on Netflix, and having watched that it gave me a greater appreciation for the GT6 content. Then last night I watched 'Senna' again, and the GT6 game content gave me a greater appreciation for the documentary! I would also notice "hey there's the car used in the game" and I could anticipate the next turns when they showed an on-board camera because I've driven the tracks so many times in the game.

I'm loving the new update! Managed to gold the Senna time trials (Brands Hatch was an absolute pain). The new cars are absolutely epic! The 97T is now my favourite car to drive in GT6. It's so fun ripping it around the tracks. I tried out a few tracks with it and found that Apricot Hill is an amazing track for it! I even tried it at night time which made it more fun and challenging. SSR5 is another fun track too. PD have made tracks that are perfect for these monsters. It's a shame there isn't a wide range of open wheel cars.
