I pretty much have everything as USA as possible. Speed limited is OFF. :D Speeds is in MPH and the speed limit does match accordingly radar guys. Pretty sure I've be "caught" like 400 times now. One thing I would recommend to make things a bit more difficult is to reduce the stability of the trailer. It is set so right now I cant not take any tight turn or I will flip. I have done some saves but that is it. Having the 3 new tractor AI mods which are slow have to test your patience.

Now that I have put some time into the game, some things I have achieved (my own):

- 6 is the best streak of backing into dock first try (I struggled forever at first)

- 3 is the most I have had in a convoy, would like to be part of a bigger one, anyone else play online?

- 1 is amount of times I have been kicked from MP server. First time in UK, driving away from Port and another driver was headed right for me. I'm honking my horn like a mad man, cussing at him and because of my stubbornness, kept my lane........crashed head on, caused a 4 truck pile up.....kicked, then it dawned on me, I was in the right (wrong) lane.

The game still is one of my favorites to date, relaxing yet challenging.

Does the Pro Mod make the graphics look better? I'm all for more realistic graphics and smarter A.I but what else does pro mods add?

I need to say something about speed fines. I'm pretty annoyed at losing money from speeding fines. I wasn't even speeding. I'm sure this will get corrected when patch 1.2 or 1.3 whichever it is goes live because it won't be long now. I've earned at least 5 skill points, so I have unlocked the first 3 for the first one listed which is to do with hazardous chemicals? or something. I got speeding fines in one UK countries even when I had my speed set to kmh and I was under the limit.

The next one down on the list is Long distance, I have been doing a lot of these because they pay more. I started off dfoing short distance UK - UK deliveries over Sheffield or Birmingham I have been doing smaller payout 185 or less miles and £4,200 or £3,400 or whatever they are payouts. I just got my second skill point so unlocked my second long distance skill after having done some long distance with ferry, and have been getting £11,000 although with damages and being a psycho on the road and getting engine damage and crashing and speed fines I earned £6,000 - £7,000 from a job that should have payed me £14,000. It was to Amsterdam I think.

I have speed limiter set to on. I had to turn air brake simulation off because I can't raise revs and I don't see a way to do it on the xbox one controller, the truck won't take off when I accelerate. I think its for people using manual shifter and pedals. Also I bought the metallic paint dlc even though I don't have my own truck yet or can't paint it. So far I have like £43,000 earned. It sure takes forever to earn money. Also when on earth do I unlock free roam or free drive? Because all I can do is quick jobs at the moment? Freight market is not available. I did unlock the second another truck dealer somewhere but I forget which brand it is.

Once you buy your own truck you can then free roam. I borrowed money from the bank, bought a truck, hired a driver and eventually made enough to buy a few more trucks and drivers and 2 garages. Yeah it does take time to make money but once you upgrade fragile and high value plus long distance, my average hauls are 30-50k.

Oh right so I can free roam after buying a truck. Do you need to buy a truck to hire a driver? And is it worth my hiring a driver if I don't already own a truck? I don't own a truck so will hiring a driver earn me more money quicker? At the moment I have upgraded only the first two, I have been upgraded Long distance the most so far to rank 4 or 5 I think. I've been getting £20,000 for 1,050km. So far I've earned just over £90,000.

I just reconfigured my xbox controller to do new functions. Basically I can do hazard lights, set cruise control although I still have to increase decrease cruise control via keyboard, I can do all the horns on my controller and work the dashboard map. Also I can flash high beam lights on and off. Cruise control is basically awesome because no more speeding fines.

Also I switched off speed limiter. I set cruise control threshold to within 0kmh or 0mph. Set my currency to £. I'm well chuffed and so far I'm on my way to getting 0 offences. Its just damage which I'm working on with my driving skills. But the crashes are either A because I'm fiddling with a function or control or B I miss a turn off the main motorway.

Can someone tell what Pro Mods is what it does?

Once you buy a truck, you will then be able to pick what loads you haul (Job Market). Also be able to roam without a trailer, if you want to explore, find dealerships etc. A hired driver won't make you any money until they too have a truck, so they will work for you, you supply the truck. So to start, you need 2 trucks, 1 you are in and the other is for a hired driver. You can choose what areas you want them to work on, long haul, hazardous etc to make more money. Once you buy your truck, things will make sense as you mess around.

@wraith of horus Promods is a map expansion. It doesn't improve your graphics , in fact it is more demanding on your system in certain areas like Antwerepen and Hamburg due to the complexity and density of the roads. It also adds some new companies to your job market.
It adds Iceland , Faroe Islands , Estonia and Finland and also enhancements throughout the SCS map areas. You need Going East DLC. Going North DLC is optional I believe.

With places like finland is there snow on the roads making it slippy? Or it it just snow on the motorway banks etc...

@m8h3r No , there is no snow anywhere in Finland and the roads aren't slippy. Its just summer everywhere ! There are winter mods out there if that's what you like though.

Search Promods on youtube. There are plenty of gameplay videos.

I don't play ETS2 because I don't own a computer that can run it, but I'd like to know if there's mods compatible with the multiplayer mod. What features does multiplayer have?

Just think it could be a new challenge. Snow drifting.

Fixed. :D

Cool thanks for all that information Oso. I can't wait to buy my own truck and customize it to my liking. I saw a video of the transformers truck but I don't know where you get it from. I'm not rushing to install any pro mods or mods as such yet but eventually I would like to add Pro mods and graphics mods and also new trucks and trailers.

This is good because I've got Going East and Scandinavia. I looked at the Pro Mods website and version 1.97 is the latest. It says it works with version 1.2 of the game. Not sure which version I have of the game will it say somewhere in game or on steam? Also does pro mods add that transformers truck or do I need to download different mods for new trucks or trailers?

What are the enhancements? I think Pro mods is going to be pretty useful if it adds new companies, more maps and adds more jobs to the job market to make the game bigger.

Also as said above to Oso I'm not rushing to install pro mods or any mods in particular just yet, just wanting to enjoy the game a bit more yet. I know there are graphics mods out there will they all work with pro mods, trucks or trailers mods like the transformer one? and if so have you guys tried any or would you recommend some ones which are the best to use.

First up , I keep forgetting to add the link to the official ETS2 forum. It's full of useful information. FAQs , how to's , mods etc.
http://forum.scssoft.com/viewforum.php?f=3&sid=29ac1bdc34a3ea458fee712e1ace5dbe

I think this is the most active mod site , loads of content always being added. You can browse by category too.
http://ets2.lt/en/

Other mod sites:
http://ets2mods.org/
http://ets2downloads.com/
http://etsmods.net/

I think you are doing the right thing sticking with the vanilla game for now. There is enough to do in building your business and exploring the maps you already have without needing mods just yet. Also when you do start using Promods (or other map mods), you will appreciate all the additions even more , the road signs , extra rest areas and bigger towns. The German Autobahn system is impressive !

The current game version is 1.20. This is shown top left of the first screen where the profiles and mod manager are.

I don't know of any recent Tranformers mods but the Peterbilt 389 is similar.
http://ets2.lt/en/modified-peterbilt-389-1-7/
Promods doesn't add trucks or trailers.

As far as I know , weather or environment mods will work with any map mods. They are a different "category" as they only change sounds and textures. I don't use any at the moment. I have tried the winter one but everything being white is boring to me.

@Fallen_log
I like the Kenworth T800. http://ets2.lt/en/kenworth-t800-v-2-1-final/
It sounds great and there are plenty of other skins available.

Thanks guys. I'm up to £102,000. I've been getting longer distance jobs now but have still been abusing the speed limit or crashing my truck and damaging it when I could have been getting 28,000- 30,000+ payment 40 hours + drive. I will eventually do it without screwing up as the super long distance jobs are giving me at least nearly 30,000 on average. Here is where i found the pro mod Optimus Prime transformers 4 truck. There is also apparently a USA trailers pack with a big shiny silver trailer that would fit this truck perfectly. I've also seen a mod pack that adds lots of custom parts to your trucks on the same mod site. The only problem is the transformers truck says its compatible with ETS2 1.16. So its a bit old. Not know if mods that old will work with the new version of the game we are running on steam. I think certain links didn't work on his channel like the transformers trailer. But I posted them anyhow because some of the mods he using looks good. So thought I'd share them with you lot.

Here they are. Courtesy of Dogman Dan Youtube channel.

Well I finally bought my first truck, a MAN TGX XXL with the xxclusive UK interior. I didn't upgrade the chassis as It gives me larger fuel tanks. It cost around £159,000 I think. I added a lot of extra parts. 480BHP engine as I can't upgrade because I'm not past level 14 yet. I'm not very good at photo mode but please tell me what you think. For paint I was looking to go for a burnt red orange metallic look like Camelia red. This was the best I could do with the paint pallet. Here are some pics. I hsve £69,000 left but now I can free roam and try to discover all the truck dealers.

One weird question I have is my gpu suddenly started to have more frame rate issues. Is this normal because all the parts I've added to my own truck and the paint? I've had to drop the settings to medium for everything. So its not as choppy. I find it affects the steering and gameplay in general and just feels wierd and not smooth. I really love this truck and since you can't test drive trucks I was kinda hoping everything would run smoother. I was having no issues with company trucks. Maybe if I take truck back to standard and take all parts of and see if the choppyness goes away in free roam. Because like I said I had no problems with normal company trucks and deliveries in quick job mode.

It could well be the metallic paint and accessories causing the problem , seems to be the only thing that has changed in your game.

One way to test drive is to save your game , buy and customise your truck of choice , and test it. Then reload the save game and repeat with a different truck. Keep doing this until you have found the truck you like.

Nice truck BTW. 👍

Thank you guys. But I so can't wait to upgrade to a better computer so I can play with ultra settings and no issues. I found after messing around a bit last night I got it to work better than it was even in free drive. So I don't know maybe my room was too warm for my laptop gpu I notice this as I've had the heating on sometimes. I messed with the graphics settings and can't rem what I had originally before buying my own truck. I got the graphics settings to something similar I though I had previously. I just hope its ok. The road seem to go by a bit smoother and so did the cars a little better but I won't know until I play it again tonight. I'm about to do my first job with my own truck, its going to pay 70,000 I think it's some digger or tractor type of vehicle. I stopped for a rest. Is there a way to buy your own trailer or do you just use the company job trailer given to you?

You don't own trailers in the game.
The settings to reduce the load on your PC are reflections , shadows , vegetation detail. Reduce the setting on these a click at a time and see if that helps.

Right guys instead of starting a new thread I thought I'd try posting here first.. I've had an issue since going to 1.19x (currently on 1.20x with same issues).

So lately the issues I've been having is there are no trucks in AI traffic anymore. I've tried disconnecting my traffic packs but the issue is still present, I can see plenty of cars and busses but just no AI trucks either driving or parked.

Any help would be appreciated greatly.

I wish I could have those graphics to play ETS2, I have to play with everyhting on low and deactivated to be able to play.. :/
