Anthony Davidson has pointed out that Romain Grosjean cannot drive for Haas F1 as the French do not really pronounce the "H" sound, meaning that Grosjean will be driving for Aas F1.
Interesting, i've never noticed that before. The difference is not really noticeable to french ears (i had to find a video about Haas to hear it right). Anyway, french is to verbose to waste that much air for a single syllabus. I feel dizzy just trying to spell it right. :P

I think you missed the joke - Grosjean would pronounce it "Aas F1", which sounds like "Arse F1".

"When this Formula 1 driver signs, you won't believe what team it is for!"
Nothing as blatant as that - the title implies that it's a formal announcement, but the body of the article demonstrates otherwise. It makes Autosport look like they're got a scoop.

Just the headline I thought of when you said it was clickbait. It is wrong given that I personally don't read all the articles but will read all of their headlines. Since they cap how many articles you can view each month, I feel the need to be picky...

That's probably why they have the click-bait headlines.

I didn't miss it. The joke arises from a fact, i was commenting that. My comment wasn't too serious by the way, i didn't really feel dizzy.

Will Buxton was discussing during FP2 last night on NBCSN that Jolyon Palmer was hinting at a race seat with Lotus/Renault come Tuesday. Palmer said something along the lines of "I can't say for sure now, but come Tuesday I think my future will be more clear."

If Lotus/Renault/Trashtruck Team go with Palmer and Maldonado, I'll be in a bit of hysterical laughing. Take Vergne you guys! Unless Formula E is that binding...

"Drivers feel stupid for not knowing this one weird trick."

"Nine teams that are faster than Manor (Number 12 is just perfect)."

"This pit stop by Jos Verstappen will make your heart melt."

"Nineteen cars that are totally nailing this failure to qualify thing."

Mystery solved: Jenson Button will take over from Ron Dennis as CEO. In an interview with Johnny Herbert, he rather deftly answered the question without actually answering the question. Ron couldn't have done a better job if he'd tried.

Also, random thought of the day: am I the only person who thinks "Jessica Button" sounds like a Beatrix Potter character? I've been reading Peter Rabbit to my niece and I keep expecting her to show up ...

As interesting as it is, I can't say that I'm too impressed with Button. McLaren need all the money that they can get, and his asking for more money doesn't really help things. Nor does Alonso's exorbitant salary. Maybe I'm just being naïve, but who needs six million pounds per year? I wouldn't know what to do with six million pounds in a lifetime.

Maybe Formula 1 finances would be easier to manage if the teams weren't spending so much on drivers. Salary caps work in other sports ...

Those other sports. Do they take the same risks with their lives as F1 drivers.... No that's not it. It's how popular the sport is... or is it ...

Anyway, that apartment in Monaco and that personal Jet.. you know they don't pay for themselves. :p

That's just a piece by a journalist. Note the lack of anything in the way of confirmation for anything he's suggesting?

Agree about drivers being payed too much, but you only pay 3 drivers in one team which say compared to football you pay a lot more players.

Given how much f1 teams budgets are at I would say the value of a top driver over a poor one is worth atleast 10s of millions just in points.

So, Renault have signed a letter of intent to purchase Lotus.

The question is, who do they put alongside Maldonado? 2016 seems to be shaping up as a transitional year, which probably explains their willingness to keep Maldonado for the time being.

Well if Redbull don't go down then probably Vandoorne or Kmag, otherwise Ricciardo easily.

Options are low at this point, but a highly skilled rookie would be the best bet.
