 those are so artistic. it's a nice break from what we see here on gtp at almost a regular basis. nicely done CF!

Thanks guys. I guess these two shots were duds;)

My next update will come the day after tomorrow and will entail four shots taken for the top posters in my gallery and will also celebrate my gallery's first anniversary.

Love both shots!!!
Man...those shots could be great wallpapers!!!
Always with something good to show us:)

Thanks guys:) Now on to the next update. A week and a half or so ago I sent out some messages to the top posters in my gallery and wanted them to choose what would be in this update. So without further ado I present my one year anniversary (yes, I know it's a few hours early, but I have to do a lot of work tomorrow). I sent out requests to the top 5 posters at the time and unfortunately only heard back from 4. That's ok though as I stressed myself out enough with four specific requests:) I know when looking at all four shots together here it doesn't seem like a lot of variety (three of the shots have the car from the same angle) but I think they each stand on their own merit.

First on the block is jgda's request. He wanted to see an Integra. I picked Tsukuba since it just seemed right for the car. I added some PS blur but didn't take a high shutter speed shot as I wanted the car to be slightly blurred as well to add a more realistic look. Overall the shot has a softer feel to it and still carries (at least in my opinion) a good sense of movement. I was happy with how the headlights turned out. The shot itself isn't going to turn GT4 photography on it's edge but I believe it cleaned up well and presented the car nicely.

NTX wanted an Eclipse. Again the location was up to me so I went with a dark course. I wanted to "cruise night" feel to the shot and make it a little edgy. The shot is somewhat static but still has some movement. It wasn't intended as a racing shot so a lot of movement wasn't needed.

Alex said he would like to see a LeMans prototype. I don't know if this qualifies but I'm sure it must have raced at LeMans at some time. It has a similar feel to one of the 787B shots I updated previously (it was taken at la sarthe) but works on its own. I did have to do some work on creating my own shadows since for some reason the car seemed very flat on the road. I believe I did ok. The lighting came out well as well. Hope you enjoy Alex:)

Dead_Poetic's shot was the hardest for me. For this one I had the request of a Saleen S7 at Autumn Ring. It took me three separate photo shoots there to get one good shot. I did a partial blur which I know may not be to everyone's fancy, and I did mess it up a bit but I believe that can be forgiven. The car required a small bit of clean up and I think overall the shot came out ok.

I want to say thanks to all of the people who have made a visit to my gallery. i was flabbergasted to see that the views have topped 35,000 in one year. A big thanks to all of you who left the almost 1100 posts (I subtracted out my own from the total). It's been a good year (minus a month in absentia) and I look forward to bringing many more updates in the next year.

As an additional bonus I decided to put some of my real world pictures up here as well:

Wow man, I'm amazed. Your usual updates already has an awesome level, so it's very difficult to improve. Honestly, I love alot the Integra pic. It could be nice to try a blur on the tarmac to give the speed you said it lost, but with that low camera must be a pain. The cleaning is superb, the whole image is very very smoth, very peaceful. All elements are greatly balanced.

The Eclipse isn't the Bella Donna really. I think the photo itselft is not the best base to push to the limits your skills because you couldn't work on the car surfaces and the background is not very complex. It's a good entry, but not so good as the rest.

The S7, yeah, the S7 is also a great photo. It seems to have a ghostly feeling, a dreamy one or somewhat special wich I can't link to anything real. One again, all lights and lines are amazingly modified and perfectly balanced.

And now, the R89. For me, it's the best of the section. I understand when you say the flat look of stock photo. This fact made passible so stunning work on lights. Even I can say this is one of the best lighting exercise I can remember by now, not extremely spectacular but showing a total control of real lighting.

I love how I can feel every change on the shapes in the front with those bright touches without being overexposed. The windscreen probably was difficult to edit to get the appropiate glass effect, wich is a key to the final good looking of the entire image, but it's also pretty real.

I like the idea of opening 5 request spots. I'll try to remeber it when my gallery reaches 1 year... in Autumn or Winter lol.

The Saleen S7 is just stunning, because of the clean up and the lighting you did on the shot.

Such beautiful pictures man. Wow is all I can say. Everyone of them deserves to be in this update. Cool! 👍

Great updates all round, the Integra shot looks great to me, it's very simple but the lighting in it is stunning. I also really like the Calsonic Nissan, it's a very minimal piece of photography but it works well with that car, like it's just gently cruising around at about 200mph!

I really love your actual photography though, especially the landscape shots. I'm not too sure about the big eye in the sky thing going on but I'm sure there's a reason for it!

I´m stunning mate!!! Incredible quality shots!!!
Let me say...I love the Eclipse, very sexy!!! Really shows (to me) how beautiful that car can be!!! Love it!!!
The Integra is another beautiful shot...with another great camera!!! Looks very clean and the colors are perfect!!! U really show the car "agressive" look!!!
The LeMans prototype shot...fantastic use of blur, and quite realistic too!!! Good job on cleaning the car!!!
The Saleen shot just speak for itself, WOW!!! What a shot!!!
Also U and you´re wife take great real world shots, very professional looking!!!

Hope to see more from U Tony, U really are one of the best of GTP
Also, U really should enter the Photomode Tournament if U have the chance, it would be great to see U there, and I think that the other guys think the same.

thanks so much for doign this Cod! those are four, beautiful treats. can't really say much about them, but i have to tell you that they all have their own character, and the soft lighting carries your name all over them. simple but stunning. the S7 has some of the best reflections i've ever seen in that location. the real life photos are looking pretty good as well. thanks so much again for taking the time to do the requests!

You have truly out done yourself here Cod Father. It seems as I scrowlled down the page I became increasingly speechless, all these shots are great.

I really like the uber cleaness of the teg, plus all the baby and dark blue sky, very nice.

We always need a good rear end shot every now and then. I like how you made the background black and white and left the car in color. Cool idea that you hardly see.👍

The LM shot really flows, it's really clean and has an awesome shine. The vignetting you added looks perfect aswell.

You can tell you definetly put some pain staking time into making the Saleen as clean as it is, the partial looks really nice also, and the entire B&W really works with the shot.

Of the randoms I absolutley love the 2nd, 4th, and 8th.

The 2nd shot of the hallway is very spooky, but the light shining through seems to be battling the dakrness.

The 4th is pure genius, it looks very real, you did a god job getting that in there.

The 8th has a very ominous feel to it, like I'm looking at Dracula's castle or something.

I like the nissan the best, but the saleen shot is good as well. The car is very clean. I think that shot may have looked better in full color, though its still an awesome shot.

Glad you liked these shots guys. I'll try to get a new update up soon. I do have one shot but after looking at it again I don't believe it's good enough to show.

Well, since I can't enter this in the 2.0 comp this week I'll post it in my gallery.

And a second shot:

Remember to click both for a full size shot.

that looks so awesome! the reflections on the first one, and the lighting and the skies on the second one. top quality photos. i dont know how you got the reflections that good on the first pic. it's awesome. now i can't wait what you've entered for the tournament. bring more soon!

I just love the contrast you used in the last shot.

Thanks guys. jgda, I didn't enter the tournament.

The first shot is very good. I like the low angle and the gaussian blur in the back. But the tires have some weird grey lines on it, did you do that on purpose?

2nd one is.........flippin mental!! I love it!! Your making me want to get my V Dub out to play. :). Really nice stuff on both of them! Tis' a shame that you aren't entering the Tourney would have been pretty good. Great work! Check out my gallery if you have time.

Thanks guys.

Sej, what grey lines are you talking about? I have a couple crappy 15" monitors here at work and can't see them.

I'll see about getting a couple more GTI shots up tonight.

I like the second one...nice little set you got there.

Thanks VR6.

Here's another quicky of the VW

On another note, but still related to photography, my wife and I were thinking about buying a digital SLR but instead decided to pull out her old Pentax Asahi Spotmatic. The camera is from the late 60s and still seems to work ok. We have three lenses at our house and there are another 5 or 6 at my in laws.

nice camera. and great lighting on the update, you sure gave it a touch of realism with the lighting. the dark background makes the car and the reflections stand out. great work yet again cf!

Love the lighting and composition of that update. Nice Pentax too. I have a Pentax but its a digital SLR, the K100d.

All Golfs are overstanding. Brilliant lights all arrond.

As you're the God of lights, probably you can do a miracle merging day with night at the same time or something, who knows lol. I'm looking forward to see more awesome stuff.
