That 2nd Golf in pot 1426 has some really exciting looking lighting going on, and I love it. I've always enjoyed photographing this car but I've never managed to make it as good looking as you have here!

Great work all round once again. 👍

Amazing tone you are putting on your photos
meanwhile they look really realistic as usual
I like the 1st Golf particularly because it almost looks like chrome
and those coconut trees are great elements for the background

Sorry I haven't commented here in awhile, I always like to come here. Your work and style always inspires me and gives me ideas. :)

I will come back later with a bigger detailed post, am unwell at the mo.

All your recent work is as superb as it always is, keep it up Cod. 👍

Love the lighting and composition of that update. Nice Pentax too. I have a Pentax but its a digital SLR, the K100d.

Thanks Krame, and thanks for the input on the camera questions I sent you. We're going to stock with the Spotmatic II (found the real manual for it) for the time being. The K100D looks to be a really good choice once we decide to go digital with the SLR.

All Golfs are overstanding. Brilliant lights all arrond.

As you're the God of lights, probably you can do a miracle merging day with night at the same time or something, who knows lol. I'm looking forward to see more awesome stuff.

Salu2.alexwrc

I don't know if I could merge day and night together Alex;) If you watched me using photoshop the first thing that would come to mind is "does this guy actually know what he's doing?" lol.

Thanks Mog. Would you believe that shot was taken at 1/4000th and has no blur outside what GT4 did?

Thanks for the visit and kind comments Franz. I'm happy with how the first VW shot came out as well. It looked really good without any work to it, but of course I couldn't just let it sit with nothing done to it:)

Thanks T_W. Get well soon!

I'm hoping to get something new up soon but with all the nicer weather and other hobbies taking up more time right now I'm not sure exactly when the new stuff will make it up.

Now why can't I make shots that look as good as these?

The 1st Golf is beautiful, The gaussian on the back really brings it to life, and the car itself is beautifully lit (sp?). You really are a master working with light, you'll have to enlighten me about it someday, I don't have a clue on how you do it.
Also, the reflections on the left of the car's front are awesome, you can actually make out the trees on the paint job. 👍

2nd Golf is very different, but I like it a lot too. The strong light makes it more dramatic and makes the car's front extremely aggressive, I love it.
Only thing is the tarmac not having a bit of blur on the right part of the image.

3rd shot is a bit more 'standard', but always a high standard as you got us used in your gallery. I really like the GT4 blur in the shot and the strong light on the headlight, looks very realistic.

I already tried to do an update with this car but never got around it. The shots look great when I take them, then on the PC they lose a lot, and I couldn't get myself to edit any of them in a way that I really liked.

Excellent work, Cod!

EDIT: Very nice camera you got there! (I'm pretty sure it's only one of yours) :D I have a Minolta Maxxum5 I bought a few years ago and I love it, wouldn't trade it for any digital camera.

Thanks Beerzy:) The Pentax is my wife's... which I guess makes it half mine;) We also have a Canon S60 digital and an old Yashica.

So my next update came a little sooner than I though. I was inspired by some recent photos I've seen and feel this is a bit of a departure from my regular work.

Audi R8

I just love the first two shots Cod_Father.

They are all nice .. but I think 1st and 3rd are really outstanding
the tone is somehow very cold ... it has strong feeling of loneliness
maybe the king of Lemans lacking a real rival to compete :)

Thank TVR and Franz:)

I have a few more photos of this car that I may work on tonight. I was inspired enough that I didn't even get beyond turn two of NY without having plenty of pictures.

This update is full on C_F style and I love it. I have no idea how you manage to carry off this look so spectacularly, but you do. I will continue to be mesmerised by your work!

the Audis are great! the far left is the favourite i reckon, bt i also like the B&W shot im not 100% sure i like the blur on the headlights on the far left though

Once more, lighting and tones rule on your shots.

The 1st one is my favorite, by far. What franz said is spot on, it looks like he's slowing down, waiting for some competition to catch up, but looking at the rearview mirror (the fact that's dead center on the shot enhances that) all he can see is a blur...

Man, this is poetry.

Also, amazing reflections on the car, specially on the left, over and on the headlight.

2nd shot I really like the blue tone, almost like a light hue. The tarmac looks great on the bottom of the image but the blur you applied in the upper part seems a bit off (most probably due to the lines on the tarmac not being straight to begin with, not your fault) and kinda ruins the speed effect.

3rd shot has a really cool GT4 blur and apart from the very subtle tones I really like it's composition and the angle in which you took that shot, very close to the camera.

You're above all an excellent photographer, Cod. 👍

Wow, thanks Mog. One of these days I'll do a tutorial on the preliminary steps I take in all my photos. After the prelim it's really a hodge podge of work that is different for every shot.

Thanks SimmiS. The third shot isn't going to be everyone's liking but I thought I would post it up anyway:) The B&W is 99.9% straight from GT4.

Thanks Beerzy. As I posted above the second shot is 99.9% GT4. I only added the blue tint to it and some dodging on the highlights of the car. Other than that it's straight from the game:)

You never cease to amaze cod father. Great update 👍

Wow! The angle on the third shot is brilliant. :)
But the first shot is just pure class!

Thanks Diablo and JJ74:)

The following is a car I've tried shooting many times and came up with nothing. This time I believe I may have succeeded.

Infiniti G35

YES the G35! This car is now one of my favourites :D did a good job on the photo Cod_father

Audi R8 - the editing on all of them is very good, but, i love the blur, angle and focus on the driver in the 3rd one the best.

G35 - 👍 👍

Thanks guys:)

Last night in Manitoba we had a number of Tornados. The storm area passed over us without much incident except for a lot of rain and hail. This is a shot I captured about a half hour after. That storm did develop into one that produced tornadoes

Thanks driftnewb110:)

So what do you guys think of this lens for the camera?

400mmpp6.jpg

i love them new updates!! the audi ones have some great lighting as usual, i just love the composition of the photos. same with the g35, great angle with it too! sorry to hear about the tornadoe in your area. we had some quick storms here in vancouver too. didnt see the one in the morning, but i heard it was pretty bad, though they came in short bursts, and in the afternoon as well. it was like fall season already. pretty insane. i can't see the last pic you posted after the g35, but i'll check up on it again tomorrow.

Thanks jgda. There was a tornado that touched down (apparently) about a kilometre from out house and the resulting winds destroyed our storage shed. There were a lot of trees down in town and lots of damage. I believe there was a total of 5 tornadoes that night.

Anywho, even though this part of the forum seems quite dead, I'll post up another update.

VW Lupo Gathering at Infineon

The new update is really god and as usual the lighting on all the pics are perfect. The last one is my favorite. As for the G35 update, that shot looks awesome! The angle, sky and of course the lighting is spot on, very nice job.

Are the galleries Dead, must just be a lot of people hanging around outside instead of in. It is quite cold here though so I am staying inside. ;)

That is an extreme lens you got there Cod, bet that cost quite a bit and is it heavy? Looks it.

That is an amazing shot you got of the storm, good to hear you are alright. :)

This Lupo update is amazing, how do you get such beautiful lighting is your shots?
They all look good, but I love the third and fourth shots the most. Superb control over lighting and colour in all shots, superb work all round.

I will be sure to come back and comment on others updates I have missed, there are quite a lot of awesome shots that I didn't comment on.
Anyway, look forward to seeing another update in one of my favourite galleries. 👍

I like the first and the last the most, because of the lighting and the atmosphere you give to the pictures.:)

i second that - the pictures look so realistic - wow!

Damn, I hate you so much!!!

These look awesome, I'll be sure to get back and comment in detail, Cod. 👍

PS: Nice bazooka. What's the specs on that thing?
