Pretty fine update, just could use a bit more brightness/contrast.
 
Camaro SS: Mmmm, more Cod goodness at Laguna Seca. You gotta enter the CCCL 14. I thought of you when choosing the theme, Dodge Charger 440 R/T at Laguna Seca. I am sure you could come up with something amazing.

Anyway on to the shots. I love the sky in the first, it reminds me of the sweet Cobra shot you did. It has a bright glow to it, I guess from the diffuse glow. Great realistic blurring and the lighting is superb.

The second shot is very simple yet I love it just as much as the first. The highlights over the car look great and the over all tone of the image gives it a very cool look. You did the Camaro proud. :)

B&W Shots: First shot is very nice but would look even better if the wheels had more motion. I like the glow of the clouds.
The second is very cool, awesome angle and nice amount of detail. Nice glow and the pencil effect adds something different and interesting.
The third shot is stunning, great details. Really nice blur, lighting and looks sweet in B&W. The glowing shine off the hood really grabs attention. Superb work on that one Cod.

Lotus Espirit: Nice shot with a great blur, it could be a bit brighter but I still like it. Has a nice soft feel and looks like the Lotus is just cruising the streets of NY.

Impressive work as always C_F, I look forward to seeing your future work, keep it up buddy. 👍
 
I know. But the wet method is not to blur it, it's really to add the ultimate prove via DNA from the artist (Don't tell this to anyone, it's a secret LOLx25). Dark ambient, dark car, strange design, desert NY street... all are ghostly reasons to be afraid watching your last update haha. Really, it's very good... as always!

Very nice Cod_Father but a wee little bit more b/c would make it look better. I once photographed that car but it was white very, very badly textured car. I learnt from that update never to go near that car again. :lol: Great work.
 
Thanks guys. I tried the picture with more B&C but it looked too washed out to me... oh well:) I have another lotus update, but tonight I'll post up the "Pencil Drawing" technique.

There are probably easier ways to do this and I didn't come up with this myself. If I remembered where I got it I would give the proper credit, but I can't, so here it goes anyway.

1. Open your image (of course)

2. I started this from scratch and I always duplicate my background layer before starting anything...

so Duplicate the layer (call it whatever you want) and then DESATURATE.



3. Duplicate the desaturated layer and INVERT the new layer



4. Select the inverted layer and set the BLENDING MODE to COLOR DODGE

5. Gaussian blur the color dodged layer to 2 pixels. You should have something like this (depends on the amount of black and white in the photo)

6. Select the brush tool and set the color to black, OPACITY to around 75% and FLOW to 1%. I usually use a larger size brush and color over the entire photo at that setting. Then for areas I want darker I set the FLOW to 2 or 3%. You can use white to make the areas lighter as well.

You should end up with something like this. Feel free to experiment with different opacity settings on the brush and textures to make it look more like paper.

Photoshop filters are a holly CRAP looking to your method man! I did not expect a so complex actions, at least to understand them really. I'm starting to know those blending options for the layers are there to work, rather to fill an useless space lol.

I found that I need to adjust B&C before desatuate
otherwise I wont get anything like part 5
the brushing part is cool but apply B&C would be much easier IMO
and I wish I could get thicker outline

Glad you guys enjoyed the tutorial. I don't expect to see an explosion of pencil drawing GT4 shots, but it is a nice tool to have under one's photoshop belt.

I'm quite happy with how the shoot on the 787B came out. The car is very photogenic. All the shots were taken at La Sarthe. Watch the video below as well:D The first thumbnail wasn't edited in PS, it was all GT4. I have quite a few others but I think I'll save them for later:)

Oh man, oh man! Truly awesome! The way you made the panel featuring the main photo is stunning! La Sarthe fits perfeclty the Youtube video, it's pretty similar.

All images has a very good lighting (As always lol), but preserving some "imperfection" propper from real photography. You don't usually exagerate the overall contrast creating even a better real feeling.

Obviosuly, the last image seems to be the most spectacular. As God made those reflections for you man, they are so effective as unbelieable.

The only thing what made me think, is the tarmac of 3rd photo. Probably a curved blur could make it much more spectacular hidding that bad texture. If not, a "simple" noise should fit that evident GT issue :D

Really nice Cod_Father! The 3rd and last one are my favourites! The panel you have used to present them is very nice as well. Brilliant tones to the pictures and reflections. Well done, you did good!
 
jeeze, how'd you get so damn good at this?!!!!

I've been trying the pencil drawing method, but I have zip PS skills. I'm wondering if I'm doing it right, cause it doesn't look right. I also can't find the "flow" option you were talking about. can you let me know if I'm doing it right, or possibly do a pencil version of this photo?

very very impressive. i hate you! hehehe just kidding :D mindblowing is all i can say. the last one specially has to be the most special of them all. you have this certain tone and mood that you put in your photos, and it's very hard to capture. it's like drama and action all in one. very nice! and i love how you make the pavement look so good. i still have to learn how to do that.
great work on the tutorial too.

Great use of vignetting as always, you did a really good job on these.

This recent update is so good!!!!!!! Damm...love that panel, and the panel shot is crazy!!!
Also the other shots are true works of a master...U have great skills!!
The video is a great place for inspiration, and U were really inspirated!!!
I forgot to comment the Lotus in NY, so let me say now that the picture is really impressive, just look at the blur and contrast...WOW!!!! Love that shot too!!
The pencil tutorial is very well explained...gotta try one of these days, because it looks real good how the shots come in the end:tup:

I love the style of these Mazda shots, they seem to have a slight soft focus across them which works really well with the car and the lighting you've chosen. The vignetting has been applied well too and it looks great, not too imposing like it sometimes can be.
 
I just love the look and the feel of the first and third shots.

The Lotus seems to be a bit 'dull', as in not enough light on the shot, specially on the brighter parts, but it still is a very good shot, love the monotone look, and a good car choice, the '87 model is not at all common. 👍

The tutorial is great, gotta try it out someday for an update. But like franz said, it only works if I adjust the B/C or levels before blending, otherwise I get a full white screen.

Now, this Mazda 787B update... :drool: :drool:
It's just purely amazing, easily one of the best you've done so far.
Great panel, very professional looking (could very well be a centerfold of a car magazine).
I love the realism of the shots, and the way you make the car look so clean, it would take me hours to get that result on a single shot, and it wouldn't have the mood and ambiance your shots have... :ouch:

The tarmac on the 3rd shot looks just awesome, did you do anything to it?
The last one is just beautiful, the composition is great, as are the strong dark tones.
But I liked them all very much, fine, fine work once again, Cod!

I'm really glad everyone liked this last update. I do agree that it's possibly my best so far. Honestly though the 787B photographed very well at la Sarthe so it didn't require a whole lot of photoshop - just enough to polish them up a bit:)

My next update is just for a bit of fun. I figure what's more appropriate in the Fish Shop than, well, a fish... or a shark really ;) I present the Hyundai Tiburon doing things the designers never intended:D

LOL, and what a shark. Top notch lighting maaan, that's awesome. It's very gratificant to my eyes watching so controlled and reallistic lights. You used probably the most challenging car painting ing GT4: a metallic one.

I love the control you perform in all you images lately, and this as you said, is one of the best I remember. Well, there are cars more beautiful and that, but both images are technically brilliant.

I don't know if the 1st pic was taken with a moderate shutter speed, so you decided to blur a little the rims. I have the feeling they have a subltle offset, like they were blurred in PS (Or their lighting is getting me mad lol).

More please :D

The lighting is brilliant like alex mentioned, but the color tone is very well adjusted. Good stuff 👍
For the 787B, all shots are excellent but it would be even nicer to include 1 or 2 back-end shots
