my gainax addiction was in a long detox session unitl this........

Theres gotta be other info on this out there, vash? It doesnt release unitl 2007 :ouch:

Haha... I'm a Gainaxaholic without even knowing it... I checked my room for a second and all my figures are almost Eva if not Gainax...(I bought a set of Girls of Gainax Vol.1 at AX... Just for the rare Haruko... Well it didn't hurt that Noriko and Asuka were in the mix)

As for the Initial D stuff... Jumping over to Stage 4 without watching the other stages (Just watched that movie with every race from Stage 1-3 in it and it was a bit lame) suited me... Takumi still wins all the time in the 4th, twice though I consider it his loss...

Bleach... I bought the DS game just cause it was done by Treasure... Never heard of the anime when I got it... And it is one of the best games I've played on it...
As for the anime... I've read everything on Wiki... And was surprised at the number of Episodes... The main storyline does not seem to warrant such a high number!! I'm guessing there are more filler episodes than major episodes or something?

I have the Appleseed DVD and well... Feels too short... Not enough character development to get into the characters and their relationships... Especially Hades... Is he supposed to want revenge for that tiny little reason?

Watched Aim for the Top! 2 5th episode... Finally there are major connections to the first Aim... I still have no clue what the main character's origins are though (got some info but nothing solid)... With the 6th and last episode still unreleased in Japan... I wonder when I'll get to know what exactly is going on and how it will end...

Watched Hellsing all the way... I do not like how it ends at all and I dislike the design of the last enemy... It ends in such a cliff hanger... Meh I hate cliff hangers... Overall enjoying enough but not superb...

Wow... I go off and on, on this thread but I think I'm writing more stuff every time...

Just an update from myself really.

1) - .//Hack - Sign.

2) - Appleseed

3) - Ghost in the Sheel

4) - Trigun

5) - Full Metal Alchemist

6) - Bleach

1) I think I have seen some of .//Hack - Sign on Cartoon Network a while back. Or maybe is another of the .//Hack series, but I got the same impression that it was very slow to develop.

2) May have to check out Appleseed, since so many people have commented on it.

3) I have not been able to get into Stand Alone Complex. I may try to again, but I do not know if I will be able to.

4) The first two episodes of Trigun are absolutely great. There are some very, very funny moments in them. Just keep watching the series, it gets even better. I do not want to say much more because I do not want to spoil anything.

5) FMA is a very good series. The story is a good one and it really continues to grow and grow.

6) I have not seen any of Bleach. I think someone else mentioned in it the thread, so I may have to check it out also.

Appleseed IS a GREAT movie.

Very good production.

Fixed.

Oh hopefully someone here can help me out, I saw this anime movie on the Cartoon Network yesterday I think, or the day before, and I missed the very begining so I never found out the title.

Anyways, this girl, Tahiro, gets trapped in this 'BathHouse' for spirits. Her parents turn into pigs and the only way she can help them is to work in the BathHouse and this kid(name eludes me right now) is going to help her. I really enjoyed it, I was surprised. Anyone know what it was?

The movie you are talking about is Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away. If you liked it, you should definitely check out some of Miyazaki-san's other movies.

I've seen Nausicaä of the Valley of the Winds, another of his movies, and it was very good. The quality was very good. I've also seen most of Porco Rosso and it was also very good. The only problem with it was I missed a bunch of the beginning of the movie, so I was somewhat lost at times; but as the movie progressed, I was able to piece together a lot of it.

Definitely all great stuff! 👍 I would definitely suggest looking up Hayao Miyazaki and watch some of his other stuff.

And on the same topic, I definitely need to watch Spirited Away. I had caught a little of it on Turner Classic Movies one night, but it was probably half way into the movie already and I was completely lost. So instead of watching the rest of it and ruining the ending, I changed the channel.

I have read pretty much all of the general anime thread and i was always wondering what Vash was going on about with all his Love & Peace posts.

I just watched the 4th ep of Trigun and all is clear now, just had a good laugh to myself!

Fillers started around episode 65. The fillers actually have a storyline and is really interesting.

You mentioned that the fillers started on ep 65.......im on episode 90 now and they are only just stopping! Yea the fillers do have a story line but they are very boring and more importantly they are pointless. After 5,6 maybe even 7 episodes off all gang running around like headless chickens fighting with the enemy only for the enemy to retreat each time got very repetative. The whole bounto storyline is only just getting good.

Thankfully this weeks episode shows great promise and next weeks is sure to be great!

PS. I was vague in the details about bleach so not to spoil anything for those who havnt seen it yet or are not up to date :)

👍 Yep, now you know! 👍 And that is very impressive to have read through the entire general anime thread, there are a ton of posts in this thread.

So what do you think of Trigun so far? The episode you speak of with the corrupt sheriff and father who has killed a whole lot of people is a good one. Some very funny moments in that episodes and the end is especially great. Great stuff! 👍

On another note, I'm thinking about buying the box for Eureka Seven, though I can't decide if I want to do it just yet. :odd:

I dont think an episode of Trigun has failed to make me laugh out loudly to myself yet. Remember i watch most anime while at work so its not always a good thing! I think the boss is getting suspicious. The Corrupt Sherrif Episode was great, when he went dancing into the saloon bar while getting shot at and not realising had me in tears. Great watching! I just finished the big sand train ride and met some guy who carries a big cross around with him. The plot is starting to get deeper as Vash can work the plants and the robots etc and should prove to be interesting in future episodes.

If you watch a little close to when Vash is dancing into the saloon, you should notice that he does manage to carefully dodge the bullets. Also if you notice a little later, the main guy who is behind the kidnapping, sees that the guy he took from the other kidnapper has gum on it. So Vash had all of it planned and at the same time, manages to do all of it in a very funny fashion. 👍

The man who carries the cross around with him is none other than Nicholas D. Wolfwood. You will be seeing plenty of him in the future. 👍

Yes, I do like Eureka Seven a lot. I have only watched what Cartoon Network has aired on Adult Swim and have really enjoyed everything I have watched. The story is a good one and has answered some of my questions only to leave me with more questions on where the plot is going to go; but it is not a bad thing because it is very much enjoyable. The surfing mecha is a great idea and so far, only some of what the Nirvash typeZERO is capable of has been shown. I am very much looking forward to more of the action surrounding the capabilities of the Nirvash Type Zero and the other various LFOs, with some particular interest in the Nirvash typeTHEEND. 👍

the last naruto episode was pretty good. its still obviously filler but it can also be looked at as character development:)

Oh lawd. Naruto is MADE of fillers.

I would assume off the internet since CN are horrible behind and have terrible dubs and scenecuts.

Well when you don't get anything online, like almost everyone here, but myself seems to do, then you take what you can get with TV. So that is the case with Naruto and much of the other stuff I watch.

I'll continue with Naruto when it goes to the Kakashi Gaiden saga. Until then it's my good ol GTO and stuff.

Oh by the way has anyone seen Capeta?

Vash i must thank you, I took your advice about watching trigun and i did. Its a very good anime and certainly one of my fav's now. Trigun made me laugh a hundred times and it also had a good story line which developed nicely.

Im now watching Full Metal Alchemist. This is a cracking anime so far with no fillers which is nice! On about episode 15 so getting right into the plot :)

Spec....

Not a problem! 👍 I'm glad you watched it because otherwise you would be missing out.

FMA is a good series, I do not really remember there being any filler episodes. I just remember each episode having some kind of impact on the story.

Indeed Full Metal Alchemist is an excellent anime. 👍
The second time through is much better than the first (and it gets better after that... thanks adultswim!).

I'm patiently waiting for the release of the movie here in the US (not sure when that will be).

In any case, I think you both speak the truth, there is little filler in FMA (although I know there is a little ;) ). (there always is  :( )

Later for now,
-

Yes there always some filler in ever series, but FMA does not have a whole lot. As you said, it gets better the second time through, I would definitely enjoy watching the series a second time through, instead of just catching an episode here and there.

You guys need to watch CAPETA!

It's an anime about a kid's rise from Go karting to F1 ! It's good ;)

Well not only is tonight a night of Contest Winner's choice on Adult Swim, but next weekend Inuyasha Movie 3 will be on, so that is two weeks of no Eureka Seven and I am somewhat upset by that. 👎 But I also looked at the schedule a little closer and noticed that Adult Swim is going to start showing Bleach. I remember more than one person mentioning the series, but I have no idea what people said about it. There is also mention of a Mystery Show, maybe it will be another new anime.
