Yeah, I know they did manga as well. Though in the months before ADV Films as people knew it was gone, the ADV Manga division dissolved.
As for FUNimation becoming more like EA, people are speculating it's ARM/Sojitz (Whoever, I'm confused.) ordering FUNimation around. Some things that can clear things up.

Lots of the titles ADV got from that deal went to FUNimation.
Also, just to show how some mistakes were made. Almost $9,000,000 just to get the rights to 29 anime, but to my knowledge, $20,000 an episode isn't uncommon.

Many times, the Japanese company pretty much orders around the R1 company as part of the license contract, or if they're the US branch of a Japanese company (Geneon Entertainment (Dead), Bandai Entertainment (For the most part dead.), Bandai Visual USA (Dead), Toei Animation USA (Dead basically), and Aniplex of America are all/were US branches of Japanese companies.).
There's also ordering around where an American company is later owned by Japanese companies. VIZ Media is owned by Shueisha and Shogakukan, two of the largest publishers in Japan, and they distribute their manga exclusively through VIZ (Which has many drawbacks unfortunately. It would take a while to explain why.).
In conclusion, we don't really know enough details whether to say FUNi is in the wrong, ADV is in the wrong, or ARM is in the wrong. Still, no matter who wins, we the fans will lose. The companies should be working together, not fighting each other when the R1 industry is crumbling.
