That is extremely disappointing, I'd like to own Bakemono one day.

You better learn Japanese and import that thing. Not just simple Japanese either, Bakemono relies heavily on subtle humour and fast paced dialogue. Lots of Japanese word play too.
 
Well we have to wait. Companies passed on getting it before it aired, and after it was all done, it was a massive top-seller, so licensing costs are massive for it now as they can be affected by Japanese sales and popularity. Who knows if anyone getting the title would be able to break even on licensing costs alone.

Aniplex USA gave this update last May, and no one has heard anything since.
During its panel, Aniplex acknowledged that negotiations are ongoing for licensing both Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Bakemonogatari. Aniplex added, "Stay tuned."

They did get Nisemonogatari though. No word on how when/if/how they'll release it. The site just talks about the simulcast.

On a side-note, many people were shocked they didn't try bringing over that Bakemonogatari Blu-ray box as a direct import.

Still very much worth it but damn... this thing should have 2, 3 episodes at most.
 
So I've watched the first 5 minutes of Mawaru Penguindrum, and just from the art alone I think I'm gonna like it.
 
Papa no Kiki 6 was adorable. I also like the "antagonist" of the show :lol:

Still very much worth it but damn... this thing should have 2, 3 episodes at most.

I'm interested in watching that, but I'm still waiting for someone to pick it up. In that license survey FUNi put out like last month, that show was included on there. That was one of the shows I voted for that I'd like to see licensed.

Sigh, there are a few shows from 2011 I want to watch that no one bothered picking up, the biggest being AnoHana. The licensing fees must be pretty big now due to how well it sold.

Apparently Mawaru Penguindrum has Bakemonogatari-esque directing. I'm interested now.

I'm glad that Ano Natsu is licensed at least. Same directer as Toradora and Ano Hana, but you've all probably guessed that.
