We got ourselves a nendroid collector here. :D
I'm not into nendroid because of the price i can get a figma (the best figma always sold out here.Dayummm).
Maybe i just don't into chibi stuff. :p

Sorry if this a bit off topic to what you guys are currently talking about, but does anybody here build Gunpla models?

Planned to after i sort out the tight spaces in my room.

Sly's collection is quite nice, I think I should buy figures after I buy my next car.

^ This guy feels me about action figures. Hi-5 on that, downlowtooslow.

Poseable figurines are effectively toys. What do you do with toys? You play with them.....

Aren't you a little old to be playing with action figures now? But before that, there's only so much you can do with action figures until you get bored or grow out of it.

I admit that I have a few models. To me now, its just toys posing as decoration.

I like poseable figures though I do prefer statics. Andy is trying to feel older than he is and can't appreciate simple things.

I will say if you want poseable figures to stay away from Figma. I bought one and it feels pretty cheap. Also a lot of Figmas are really expensive for no reason. I'd say to stick with Revoltech.

Because I think about how I would value it 10 years down the road. I'd certainly still love to look at a detailed static than try to pose an action figure which may not even have functioning hinges by that time. I can say this because I do have action figures I haven't touched about a month after I bought it. They require periodical attention in order for the product to be considered "in use". Once you put it down and not touch it, it's just about useful as the pen you lost underneath your sofa, and at that point, you forget about it.

Well try living in the moment every now and then and maybe you would be happier.

People have hobbies. They don't usually go into a hobby expecting to make a return on it.

And collection hobby is a timeless hobby. While you can stop one day for any reason, it's not a hobby you stop at because you're incapable of continuing, like an extreme sport for instance.

I don't know about other people, but I don't play with my Figmas and other poseable figures. They get displayed exactly the way a normal fixed figure does, it's just that you have more initial options in how you'd like them to be posed and the option to change that pose later. Aside from the occasional dusting, I touch mine about once a year.

Aside from that, I buy Figmas simply because they're nicely made, well-sculpted figures of characters I like, and sometimes they're the only figures of those characters. I'll buy just about anything of a character I'm a fan of if I like the way it looks, which is how I've ended up with the Beatrice and Saber/EXTRA Dollfie Dreams.

As for Nendo/Figma pricing, what I've discovered is amazing is Mandarake. If you guys don't know about them, they're a chain of anime collectible consignment stores in Japan. Basically, fans can rent space in a display case there, and put their stuff up for sale there. What's cool about Mandarake is that they list everything online, and will ship to the US. When I bought the Kuroneko Figma and Nendo, they were Y2500 and Y2000 respectively. The Nendo was brand new in a sealed box, the Figma wasn't sealed but it was otherwise untouched, the figure had clearly never even been taken out of the box. They both were listed as "minor box damage", but the damage on both was so minor that I had to search for several minutes before I found it, and it turned out to be a tiny tiny bit of finish rubbed off one of the corners on each. You can get deals that are even better if you'll settle for one with serious box damage, like a crushed corner or something.

I have a question for anyone watching Fairy Tail.

When does this show get good, and stop being a watered down version of Rave Master?

You should actually buy the one where's crawling because that one accentuates her cute butt. *wink wink*

Takumi, I've been on Mandarake several times, but there's just so much stuff to keep surfing through and 98% of them aren't anything I want anyway.

I have more than I thought Andy. Still compiling a list. Then I'll send them for them Gundams. I really want to get some Hei figures. Doesn't have to be all girls you know.

Guess this means those people who were watching that severely overrated Shonen have left (How in the hell it got into the top 200 (Much less the top 500) on AP and MAL is entirely beyond me). I know for a fact there were a few of those people here.
