So, Inuyasha then.
I know how bad the show got towards the end (or rather, after the first couple dozen episodes). I know that it quickly became derivative. I have agreed and commented on the various character flaws and inconsistencies as the show went on. And I know the show was essentially 150 episodes of poorly written sexual tension pretending to be a fetch quest with the depth of a Mortal Kombat story.
So, why is it that, despite knowing all of the above, I still cannot stop myself from sitting down and watching it when I have the chance? Seriously, I noted that there were a bunch of Inuyasha episodes on my DVR and then, the next thing I knew, I was watching it intently and (dare I say) enjoying myself. Granted I was thinking (and occasionally saying aloud) the same snarky comments that I have when watching, say, Sonic X. And granted, now I just blow off most of the episodes if they don't catch my eye within 5 minutes, but some of them still catch my eye! And with the new Inuyasha series inevitably going to be coming out in America, the problem isn't going to get any better.
What is it about this mediocre, girly DBZ ripoff that draws me in like this? It can't all be nostalgia, because if that was the case I would just watch my Tenchi Universe or DBZ DVDs or something, and I'm not sure if the show is old enough anyways.
Please, help me.
^ I loved it when Macross F recapped Macross Zero. ^_^
Rei will do that to you...I'm watching End of Evangelion.
My soul hurts.
There is a reason that fans contend to this day that Anno did End of Evangelion the way he did because he was angry that people complained about the ending of the series proper...End of Evangelion:
Blood, guts, questionable content, then everyone is suddenly orange tang.
Its been, what, two weeks since I posted this? And the ending of the movie still angers me enough for me to think about it.Speaking of anime made into movies, the first (?) Bleach movie is entertainingly bad. Of sure, it started off pretty nicely, and at the halfway point it was fantastic (if a bit predictable). Then the final quarter of the movie happened. I nearly turned it off I was so disgusted by how I knew it was going to turn out. And then it ended up being even worse than I thought it was going to be. I was literally riffing out loud on the damn thing before the final credits rolled.
Talk about art imitating life.
Love Seiken no Blacksmith... um Seitokai no Ichizon and Sora no Otoshimono... eh... I have put on hold because I like Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu: Purezza ALOT better... Haruka... is just so Kawaii!HEY! I know that's Konata (the Art, which looks awesome!
