Yeah, they are ridiculous.

Watching High School of the Dead. Fanservice, gore, fanservice, violence, fanservice, gun safety, and fanservice. I like this show already.

There's another one I'm watching, can't be bothered to find out what it's called, but my brother and I have dubbed it the "Animated Sex Joke." Fairly accurate, too.

I like it as well, not so much because of the fanservice though.


Seems like the episodes are way too short, even though they are the regular 20 min or so. They haven't really gotten anywhere 2 episodes in. Very effective at keeping me wondering what happens next though.


Music selection is also awesome.

I like High School of the Dead and StigNumbers, "Animated Sex Joke" = Seitokai Yakuindomo or Mitsudomoe? Or something else? Yeah, Seitokai Yakuindomo is a sex joke factory (funny too and the two K-On girls Ritsu's and Mio's Seiyus?! :dopey:) and Mitsudomoe... It's actually pretty funny :lol:, but twisted. :sick: Also, agree with the Pedophile comment as well.

I think I've watched all the Anime series I'm interested in except FMA: Brotherhood, but that's still running.

also, I got the newest version of GITS 2: Innocence with both English Dubed tracks. (the Manga and Bandai tracks. Both use the same cast, but one of them sucks and the other doesn't) This meant I got to get rid of my original Innocense. I watched the original in the Japanese with English subs, and it was a little weird at times and hard to follow. But the the English dub it was a lot better. I now understand that the Major retired from Section 9 and had to give back her body and some of her memories 'cause they were property of Section 9. She must have earned the money to buy a few new prosthetic bodies and things in Solid State Society...can't wait for the 3rd Gig to start. :)
 
While I watched Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike this morning. It is the movie prequel to Tales of Vesperia on 360/PS3... which I was playing while watching the movie... lol
 
Anyone got any updates? Getting down to the end of Giant Killing (man I hope this gets a 2nd season!)... High School of the Dead is awesome... (Rei, Saeko, the Nurse, or Saya.. who you choose? Me:
Rei. She is just plain to jealous to control, so I would be better off with her... for some reason that I don't know.
Getting a kick out of most everything this summer season that is new. Mitsudmoe makes laugh out loud in a twisted way :lol::scared: and Seitokai Yakuindomo is the same :lol:. Anyway, oyasumi guys! :sly::dopey::D

I have been watching the Monster Anime series. Somehow its going so far along the manga and it has been getting better.

It's an action drama that follows the military unit Cat **** One and it's funny because all the people are replaced with animals. Americans are all rabbits (because apparently usagi means rabbit in japanese and U.S.A. G.I. is a play on words), arabs are all goats and camels, russians are bears, etc. Great great art and really well done. The style kind of reminds me of MGS4.

lol. I love the usagi play on words thing. I would have never thought of that. But it's pretty funny.

Also, apparently, the Complete Series of Trigun was re-released onto DVD this year. Probably to celebrate the up coming movie "Trigun: Badlands Rumble" that has already been released in Japan and Funimation has picked up the rights to release it in the US. I guess it'll come out next year sometime. Apparently they want to release the Trigun movie to theaters. I'd go see it, but I'm not sure how successful it'd be.


EDIT: Picked up the Ghost in the Shell Manga today.
I also want to buy the GITS manga. The original one that sparked the movie that started a revolution. And I'm in luck, 'cause it's been re-released...again. WOO! And it's the un-censored version, too, so you can see all of the Major's lesbian sex scenes. :P

But, I think my next "to buy" anime series are Cowboy Bebop and Trigun. I can get both of those for under $100. (Cowboy Bebop for about $26 and Trigun for $37 on Amazon. So...$63 for the two. pretty sweet.) Wouldn't mind owning the Cowboy Bebop movie, either. Watched it again today. The music is pretty sweet. Of course, the movie and the ending of the series don't really fit. Which suggests that the movie happens before the final episode of the series.

Let's see...(sorry about the double post but I think the time between posts is long enough)

Finished the GITS Manga. It was pretty good. No lesbian sex scene. Mainly just violent. I'll have to get the second volume eventually.

Also, watched Princess Mononoke (pretty awesome movie, actually), the first Episode of Outlaw Star and the 2004 Appleseed movie. Not sure on Outlaw Star. But Appleseed seems like it was the inspiration for a lot of things: the Scarab Tanks in Halo look a lot like the Massive Platform things. The Armored suits are similiar to those in Neon Genesis, Eureka 7 and several others. (including Ghost in the Shell, but that's to be expected since, Appleseed and GITS were created by the same guy.) There were some elements that reminded me of the I, Robot movie. But it was mainly more of a Halo/GITS kinda of movie.
 
I thought this summer series of anime has been pretty good. I have digged half of the stuff out there. Mitsudomoe reminds me of Kodomo no Jikan but with a more twisted humor... SYD is just plain funny especially with the three vas playing the main girl characters.... High School of the Dead is just plain awesome... Amagami SS is getting more interesting... And the ones about to end (Giant Killing, Maid Sama, and of course K-ON)... are going to have very interesting endings. Add Occult Academy to my good list too.

First Squad is a Russian language anime made by STUDIO4°C, which is a Japanese animation studio founded by Eiko Tanaka in 1986. The name comes from the temperature at which water is densest. Directed by Studio 4°C director and animator Yoshiharu Asino, cowritten and produced by Michael Spritz, Alexey Klimov, with Eiko Tanaka, featuring character development by Hirofumi Nakata, and music by Japanese musician DJ Krush. The film has been shown at Cannes Film Festival, Locarno Film Festival and Fantasporto.

So, now I'm working through Strawberry Panic (at least the first two volumes) and Mezzo. I'll be starting on Witchblade tomorrow.

So far, Strawberry Panic is very girly, but deffinately not for children too young, as it's about a bunch of girls at an "Catholic" all girls school somewhere in France. (I think. They use a lot of French terms for their faculty, and there's a French Catherdral on the school grounds, but who knows.) And there is a LOT of lesbian over tones. It's weird. Kinda like one of those animes where everyone's in love with someone, but with only girls.

Mezzo's kinda cool though. I love the main chick's attitude.

Anyway, that's my recent anime report.
 
Witchblade is actually pretty awesome. I would recommend it on Blu-ray if you can. the DVD collection is 5 discs, but the Blu-ray is only 3 (Don't know about the other 2, but the 1st disc has 10 episodes on it.)

Not switching discs every couple hours is nice. (you can also get the blu-ray box set for cheaper than the DVD box set through Amazon.com at the moment...$45 for the DVDs or $39 for the Blu-ray...save yourself $6.)

Strawberry Panic is a tease. Really, it is. I acts like it could show a length lesbian sex scene at any moment but never delivers. Still liking Mezzo, though.
 
Almost done with Outlaw Star. Then comes Wolf and Spice. I tried to find High School of the Dead, but there aren't any good torrents for it. I Guess, if I REALLY want to watch that one, I'll have to download it via PSN. (Yeah, they have it. Too bad it's $2 an episode. I wish they had a "buy season" option.


I also watched the uncut versoin of Mezzo Forte. I liked Mezzo better, I think, despite Forte having a couple of sex scenes.

UM... Sora No Otoshiomo: Forte... middle of the road to me. However... MM is pretty interesting for reasons you have to watch... and Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt was just plain crazy... but awesome. --- Randy

I believe they are actually owned by Disney and have been since Spirited Away...I think. But I did love My Neighbor Totoro which features the voices of Dakota and Elle Fanning. in the American version. It's a bit funny, 'cause the film was made in 1986, and Dakota was born in 1992. So, she did a voice over for a movie that was made before she was born. :P

Other than that, I finished Queen's Blade with English Subs and it kinda sucked. One to watch if you like a lot of naked animated boobs. And I also watched "Ghost Hound" which is based on a concept by Masamune Shirow, the guy who created Ghost in the Shell. It had the technical feel of GITS but a lot more weird.

Also, apparently there's a new Inuyasha series starting up in Japan called "Inuyasha: The Final Act" It's already finished in Japan and you can watch the crappy English sub versions if you want, but I'll wait until the English dubbed version comes out.

My friend told me this but Kagome and Inyuasha have a kid and get married. Sango and Miroku get married.
