The opening is awesome, and it hurts me daily that I can't find a copy of that full song.

Also, the outro is such an adorable juxtaposition to the inevitable cliffhanger it follows. I don't know why there's a thousand Makos riding stars, but I like it. :P

The second half of Cookie-Cutter Underage Panty-Quest Season 2 arrived today:

word bro I actually buy my animu now

... This is going to turn into an expensive habit. A very, very expensive habit.

Whenever I encounter anything to do with K-On (other than a 14 year old girl screaming about how cute they think it is), my facial expression is the same as my avatar.

This makes listening to people talking about fundamental physics difficult at times.

^ Beautiful. My reaction to Popteen is basically the same as the dude at 3:11 - but I can't name the first song, sadly. I'm a self-professed eurobeat expert, too, so I really should. XD

It's really striking just how different the ParaParaParadise routines are from the official para-para routines for those songs, too.

...

Guess I didn't expect to see so much eurobeat in the anime thread! ^_^;

Cookie-Cutter Underage Panty Quest Second Season, apparently.

Sounds disturbing, in a bad way.

It's the second season of K-On specifically that I was referring to. The first season actually isn't all that much of a panty-quest. In fact, it's not got much panty-quest in it at all anyway, and the girls are technically only underage for... half of the first season? Bleh, it's a lot less disturbing than it sounds. Anyway, muh DVD arrived today, so I'm sated for now. ;P

That's just a random date Rightstuf puts when they don't know when something will come out. It's a shame Evangelion 3.33 is still delayed, and for a BS reason like "Due to overwhelming theaterical demand." Yeah right FUNimation, like AMC's everywhere are scrambling to play it. Theaters stopped playing it like a week or two before your original release date. Your reasoning like usual is completely full of crap and only ignorant people will fall for it.

Sigh, their PR is garbage at this point. They've been doing so much wrong, and like Sentai are at the bottom of the barrel. Go Discotek, Nozomi, NISA, AoA (Despite the English dub lossy audio issues. DVD-quality audio does not belong on Blu-ray.), and VIZ Media, boo FUNimation and Sentai.

Speaking of Sentai, they're releasing shows now where if it's sub-only, they'll attempt to cram 12-13 episodes on the disc... You guys don't have the best track record out there already when it comes to Blu-rays, I expect you to 🤬 these 1 disc sets and two disc sets for two cour shows. May you get too many compression artifacts, maybe all the audio shoved into one speaker, etc.

Here's an outdated list of Sentai's bad BD's.

So I attended the first screening in Latin America for The Wind Rises. It was the opening movie for a big-time film festival here in Mexico, and it was a open-air showing. The venue looked like this:

And later on, like this:

Yup, nice setting and nice experience. All in all a good movie, forget all the **** that's been said about this being a historical movie and a war movie and such, it is strictly a slice of life film that depicts the life of the designer of the Zero, both in his work enviroment and in his personal relations, with next to no mention of the war at hand... and well, the historical part is inherently there because, well, it's set in a period in human history, but it could have been the future in Wonderland instead of Japan in the late 20s to late 30s and the movie would have worked the same.

All of the above said, it's probably Miyazaki's weakest film. That doesn't make it a bad movie at all, it's pretty good. But not to Miyazaki standards. Go see it if you can, totally worth it.
